Work Text:
It was the midst of combat. Two Sinners were in the middle of their training session, fighting like they always have before in the Mirror Dungeon. Don Quixote and Ryoshu were fighting side by side for this session, and their performance had exceeded their past sessions. Why these two in particular had an increase in effort together was unknown. Don Quixote had finished impaling a Peccatulum, killing it in one swift strike.
“Did thoust witness my incredible execution of thy villain!? Twas’ but a simple task haha!” Don Quixote had shouted at Ryoshu, whom had just performed and execution on the Peccatulum she was fighting.
“N.B.D.Q.* Not too long until you can make art like mine.” Ryoshu replied back. She took the cigarette from her mouth and exhaled a small cloud of smoke with a chuckle. This shouldn’t be too difficult for her or Don Quixote to succeed in, but that doesn’t mean she’d let her guard down easily.
The two continued fighting in synchronicity, until Don Quixote’s counterattack was abruptly interrupted. The plan was for Don Quixote to evade the Peccatulum’s attack, but instead she tripped on the terrain, causing her to stumble and get slammed into the ground by it. The attack was just enough to stagger her and partially place her out of commission for a moment.
“I’ve made a fatal error in mine own judgement… Tis shall not be my end..!” Don Quixote shouted, as she attempted to regain her composure and footing. All it took was a single moment, one mistake and she’d become the target for all the Peccatulum. The mere sight of them rushing towards her position, this was it. In this moment, Don Quixote was fated to die right here. However, nothing had taken her life yet. The only thing that was in her sight now, was Ryoshu standing in her way.
Ryoshu was defending Don Quixote from the onslaught, blocking hits, counterattacking and getting hit herself.
“Get closer, and suffer O.O.F.” Ryoshu spoke coldly towards the Peccatulum. She didn’t care if the message was understood or not, her focus remained on the task of keeping Don Quixote safe until she could recollect herself. “Can you stand?” Ryoshu asked Don Quixote.
Don Quixote arose from the ground as she recollected herself, using her lance as support. “Verily…I shan’t be defeated so easily!” Don Quixote replied. “Art thou okay? You needn’t injure thyself for mine own safety-“
Ryoshu placed her hand on Don Quixote’s head, interrupting her question of concern. “Says the fallen one. If you can talk, then start fighting.” She responded with a chuckle and lunged towards the remaining Peccatulum.
Don Quixote nodded wearing her usual smile. She charged inwards, following behind Ryoshu. The two resumed their combat against the Peccatulum until finally, the two Sinners were the last ones standing on the field. Don Quixote cheered excitedly whilst Ryoshu exhaled a cloud of smoke, not making much of a commotion.
The two Sinners continued their combat session, returning back to Mephistopheles once finished. Don Quixote was talking to Ryoshu about their performance together, proud of herself and Ryoshu. Ryoshu didn’t reply much other than a few nods here and there. The two continued to chat and eventually made their way towards the back doors of the bus.
“Verily so, lady Ryoshu! Our performance was nothing short of outstanding!” Don Quixote said. “Thoust should be proud of thyself. Imagine what the Fixers of the Zwei would say about thy protection over me!”
Ryoshu looked at Don Quixote, who stared back with nothing but excitement on her face. “You got reckless.” Ryoshu replied bluntly. “Had I not been there, you’d be A.P.O.F.”**
Don Quixote cleared her throat at Ryoshu’s comment. “T-The error twas mine own. Worry not, I shan’t make such errors so easily!” Don Quixote declared with vigor. “As per thy valorous of justice, I doth believe a reward is in order!”
“Reward?” Ryoshu said questionably. “What purpose would a reward serve-“
Before Ryoshu could finish her sentence, Don Quixote opened her arms and grabbed Ryoshu into a hug. “Tis my reward for thou! For thy safeguarding of myself, you have my thanks.”
Ryoshu chuckled at the hug and placed her hand on Don Quixote’s head, ruffling her hair a bit. “Reward. Then I have a ‘reward’ for your efforts today as well.” Ryoshu spoke.
Don Quixote looked up at Ryoshu with intrigue. The mere mention of a reward caught her interest almost immediately. “A reward for me!? Do tell and showeth!”
Ryoshu leaned down closely towards Don Quixote’s ear and spoke in a low voice. “You get to mine, got it?” She then nibbled at the shell of her ear whilst wrapping her arm around Don Quixote’s waist, smiling.
Don Quixote’s face brightened with red, causing her to fall silent in embarrassment. The only action she did was a simple nod to Ryoshu’s words.
Ryoshu chuckled to herself, grabbing Don Quixote’s chin and turning her head so they’d be facing each other. “Good girl.” Ryoshu moved inward towards Don Quixote’s neck and gave her a soft kiss, biting down lightly.
Don Quixote lightly gasped in surprise, her face turning redder. Any response she would’ve had was shut down, a first for her.
Ryoshu moved away from Don Quixote’s neck after she finished her kiss, caressing her cheek for a brief moment. Afterwards, she finally released Don Quixote and exhaled a small cloud of smoke.
“I-I…s-shall take mine departure! F-Fare thee well, lady Ryoshu..!” Don Quixote shouted.
“W.D.Y.T.Y.G.?”*** Ryoshu said as Don Quixote was making her way to her room. That was enough to make her freeze in front of her door.
“I…was merely entering my room, lady Ryoshu…” Don Quixote stuttered in response.
Ryoshu made her way towards Don Quixote, an imposing air about her. She placed her hand atop Don Quixote’s, which was resting on the doorknob. Ryoshu turned the knob, cracking open the door in front of Don Quixote, a dark look flashing in her eyes. “Well..? Don’t make me tell you outright, Quixote,” She commanded in a low tone of voice that sent shivers down Don Quixote’s spine.
Don Quixote glanced at Ryoshu and nodded slowly, walking through the doorway. Ryoshu walked in after Don Quixote, closing the door.
The moment the door shut, Ryoshu stood behind Don Quixote, wrapping her arms around her chest and waist. She leaned in closer to Don Quixote’s ear gently bit down whilst licking it.
Don Quixote squirmed in Ryoshu’s arms from her biting, swallowing saliva that welled up in her mouth and shuddering through her suddenly strained breaths. She remained in Ryoshu’s grasp until a thought made itself clear through the fog of her mind. She slowly reached her hand up and tugged at Ryoshu’s sleeve around her chest. Ryoshu leaned back and gazed at her intently. “L-Lady Ryoshu. M-May thou abstain for but a moment..!” Don Quixote requested. “I w-wish to inquire about something..”
Ryoshu stopped nibbling at Don Quixote’s ear, her face remaining close to Don Quixote’s. “Hmm? Then speak D.Q.” She said in a low tone of voice. She turned Don Quixote’s head to face her.
“I only wish…to inquire about thy behavior towards me.” Don Quixote asked nervously. She released herself from Ryoshū’s grasp to fully face her properly. “Pray tell…why doth thou treat me in such a manner?” She looked up at Ryoshu, hands held together.
Ryoshu stared back at Don Quixote, her gaze still sharp. “Why? W.A.P.Q.**** Quixote, I like you. That’s why.” She replied back. ”T.A.”
“Y-You like me…?” Don Quixote said confusedly. “W-What doth thou intend to convey…?” Don Quixote was trying to piece together what Ryoshu meant with such a sudden statement like that.
Ryoshu sighed and spoke again. “I’ve seen the way you look at me. The way that body of yours reacts when it’s only us two.” Ryoshu smirked as she glared down at Don Quixote. “You’ve been seeking me out more lately, right?” Ryoshu said in a deep, yet smooth tone of voice.
Don Quixote attempted to put everything Ryoshu said together in her head. She was thinking of some sort of response to give Ryoshu, but the only thing she could hear was the blood rushing in her ears. She looked up at Ryoshu to give an attempted response, but noticed that she was slowly closing the distance between the two.
Don Quixote backed up as Ryoshu continued to move forward until Don Quixote had her back against the wall by the door. Ryoshu slammed her hand against the wall, beside Don Quixote’s head. “What do you say, Quixote? Am I wrong?” Ryoshu said, gazing into Don Quixote’s eyes.
Don Quixote was at a loss for words, because Ryoshu wasn’t wrong; Don’s heart does skip a beat when Ryoshu praises her for her efforts in combat, she was caught lingering around Ryoshu longer than necessary or being lost in thought when caged between her arms whenever being guarded directly by her fellow sinner, and she most certainly has been staring at Ryoshu’s lips this entire time… It was undeniable: Don Quixote was one-hundred percent attracted to Ryoshu and no amount of dodging or running away from the situation would make it any less blatant, let alone untrue.
She had almost considered backing out, not saying anything and leaving. However until now she had not realized she wandered right into the den of a tiger, one that was staring right at her with two piercing red eyes. In this room, she was not predator, but prey to this very beast. So instead, she took a deep breath and answered back timidly. “Nay…” She began to start leaning in closer to Ryoshu’s face once she spoke.
Ryoshu lifted Don Quixote’s chin up with her other hand, leaning in towards Don Quixote as well. The two got closer and closer until their lips were touching. Ryoshu kissed Don Quixote tenderly.
As they kissed, Don Quixote grabbed onto Ryoshu’s shirt, pulling her closer. Ryoshu fully pressed herself against Don Quixote, wrapping her arm around Don Quixote’s waist and pinning her against the wall. Ryoshu slipped her knee between Don Quixote’s thighs to prop her up, resting her other hand around her neck with her thumb and index on either side. The two divulged in each other, drowning in the sensation. The first one to break the kiss was Don Quixote.
As she broke the kiss, a small strand of saliva connected the two’s mouths, breaths hot against each other and hearts thrumming. Ryoshu locked eyes with Don as she tightened her hold around Don’s waist. “Should’ve said so sooner…Quixote.” Ryoshu spoke.
Don Quixote let out a surprised gasp as she was squeezed, giving a somewhat pouty look. Before she could respond however, Ryoshu lifted Don Quixote up into her arms and carried her towards the bed. Once the two made it, she sat down, laying Don Quixote in her lap as she cradled her.
“Feeling tired D.Q?” Ryoshu asked. The two had been at it for a while, but even before they still had intended to get their respective rest.
“F-Forsooth…” replied Don Quixote. “Just a tad tired is all.” Don leaned back into Ryoshu’s body, gently lying against her. Ryoshu leaned backwards onto the bed, laying the two side by side now.
“A bit tired, heh. Then we’ll rest.” Ryoshu said. She rested her head on Don Quixote’s shoulder, nuzzling her face as she spooned her. “Sleep well, my Quixote. Don’t you forget this night..” Ryoshu whispered into Don’s ear.
Don Quixote squirmed a bit, but gently exhaled. “Indeed, thou shalt rest well as well. We shall see each other in the morrow…lady Ryoshu.” Spoke Don, before she started to doze off into her sleep.
Ryoshu caressed Don, kneading her chest idly as she also began to fall towards sleep herself. “S.W.E.E.T.”***** Ryoshu said to herself.
The two lovers rested together. Once restricted to titles on the level of intimacy of “allies” and “comrades”, but now their status may be changed since this step forward was taken. For now, however, they will rest.
So, the room fell quiet.
