Warriors: Power of Six, Book 1: Smoldering Ashes

Summary:

Squirrelflight of ThunderClan lives a proud, fulfilling life, as daughter of the leader, mate to the deputy, and mother to now six kits from two separate litters, one by adoption and one by blood. However, her world quickly screeches to a halt as Ashfur, a tom who’d once sought to be her mate, retaliates against her and her family for choosing her current mate, Brambleclaw, over him. The impact of the attack rips through the family like a storm through a forest.

Little does Squirrelflight know that her oldest kits, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze, have been carrying secrets of their own. Alongside everything with Ashfur, the three young cats have an ancient prophecy hanging over their heads, proclaiming them to bear the “power of the stars in their paws.” Jayfeather dives into his medicine cat work, but everything he discovers only lead to more mysteries. Hollyleaf grapples with what the revelations following Ashfur’s attack mean for her place in the Clan and the prophecy. Lionblaze fights as hard as he can to keep his family together, but even he can only do so much.

Will these cats survive the coming moons, or will this family tree splinter beyond recognition?

The following is a fan-written story inspired by the “Power of Three,” “Omen of the Stars,” and “A Vision of Shadows” arcs of Warriors, which has been in the works conceptually since 2018. This story functions as a rewrite, and any discrepancies from canon are simply to be taken as from an alternate universe.
