Chapter Text
The blue and dreamy sky gives off a clear surreal look, with no clouds or smoke in sight. The water is just as blue and clear forming a perfect reflection of the sky, forming a canvas. But the serenity is slit with a quick zoom, the cause of the quick slash being a nostalgic red plane flying above the canvas, forming waves with its loud bumping sound coming from the exhaust engine with nothing but smiling faces on board the plane, a plane that seems minuscule to the ocean.
"Phew! East-Rise Island is only a bit further away!" The two-tailed fox elucidated, holding his white-gloved hands on the steering wheel, delicately not to harm an item that wasn't his, wearing loose brown goggles that sat on his beak.
Behind the cockpit, standing on the plane, arms crossed with a cheeky smile, he proceeded to widen that smile, excited for the adventure that awaited. Clouds began gathering in front of them, drifting ethereally as the plane passed, unveiling the beauty of East-Rise Island, perfectly in harmony with the bright blue sky;
With floating islands, square checkered terrain, naturally forming loop de loops, roller coaster askew slopes, with red grass. The blue hedgehog standing on the by-plane began to widen that cheeky smile even more, seeing this.
"Now this is the type of adventure that I love!-" The hedgehog had been interrupted by his sneeze, attacking his stance and disorganizing it.
The orange fox tapped the hedgehog's Christmas-like red boots, "Sonic, look!"
Lo and behold, red humanoid robots with strange faces are grabbing and mishandling tiny birds, squirrels, chickens, and others alike, trapping them inside containment units with a smiling man with a long mustache imprinted on the side of the unit in a bright red font.
"EGGMAN," Sonic commented abrasively
. "Awhh, I was looking forward to this vacation.." The fox gazed with his blue eyes down at his red shoes that mimicked those of the hedgehogs, his shoulder slumping now having a sorrowful look drawn on his face.
"Don't worry, Tails! We'll just have to kill two birds with one stone, stop EGGMAN, and enjoy our vacation!" Sonic remarks back with his cheeky smile, sporting a thumbs-up.
The hedgehog would do a slight jump the plane moving fast enough that it didn't catch him, but then in a blink of an eye the hedgehog began speeding off, running on the ocean floor, the water tickling his feet even through his boots, darting off towards the beach of one of the islands naturally in placed in the water.
After breaching the island, The hedgehog ran up a loop de loop. Halfway through the loop, he'd crouch, turning himself into a spiky ball, garning more speed than he had before. He'd launched himself off the loop, directing himself into the robots bouncing off of them, continuously destroying the containment unit in his streak, he'd leave his ball form, the animals eroding both from the robots and the unit, following him along.
The hedgehog picked up his speed, his red shoes blurring into nothing but red streaks, running on a pathway that twisted into a wall with water cascading from the left of it.
The wall twisted and distorted into another loop de loop, launching Sonic upwards towards the islands in the sky, nearly busting his ears, blowing his quills and his green eyes, daring himself to never close them, and he doesn't.
"YEAH!" The hedgehog expelled loudly, just amid his enjoyment.
He'd noticed a colossal green hand contrasting the red grass, the hand gesture mimicking that of a Vitarka Mudra. Sonic rushed towards this landscape wanting to see it in full view for his enjoyment, landing on its pointing finger on the nail. But before his enjoyment could be savored,
He'd noticed a multitude of robots the same as the ones before, but now holding materials and new ones mimicking that of a caterpillar, bees, and crabs, dissimilar from one another but similar in their objective of heading towards a nearby temple with smoke emitting from the afar town, practically snitching on itself.
"Yo, Tails! Looks like those robots are heading towards that village, you gonna join up or what?" He'd say loudly, the fox still piloting the plane.
"Yeah, hold on, Sonic!" Tails pulled a type of capsule out of his pocket, shrinking the plane and putting it inside.
Shortly after he'd used his duel tails to himself to ascend catching up with Sonic's unrelenting speed who began running again, Sonic bounced off of green totem poles that extended into the air infinitely landing and running on islands that dilapidated as soon as Sonic landed his feet on them, jumping and trying to maintain his speed through the many obstacles of the environment, difficult but rewarding his abilities with more speed, tails gliding threw it in a smooth motion not as fast as Sonic but can keep up.
Eventually, they'd be stopped by a hoard of robots in the way them noticing the speedsters and turning back, the red humanoid robots aimed their red pistols, and the bees aimed their needle attempting to blast Sonic and Tails out of the sky, but as soon as they shot, They both disappeared destroying all the robots in a flash all the while with Sonic maintaining his speed, and Tails starting his ascend again flushing robotic material off of his dual tails.
They'd both look above the horizon, noticing Ananda temples covered in a green eroding color it would seem that there would be an almost endless sort of these temples, all of them on islands floating too far down and away to reach, Sonic began to notice a floating elephant-shaped island its trunk twisting into a loop de loop that led to another elephant island it being connected to Sonic's destination.
"Sonic, maybe I could fly you across-" With a blink of the fox's eyes, Sonic sped off towards the opportunity that he had shaped in his head.

"This place is gorgeous!" Sonic commented, enjoying the brief moment before grabbing onto the spiky pole at the top of the temple and spinning off of it using nothing but athleticism to maintain himself as he bounced from pole to pole heading towards the smoke emitted village.
Tails all the while gliding shortly behind. Eventually, they reached the smoke-filled temple, but they'd be too late as a robot had already started to attack a villager..
