Work Text:
The chilly wind blew up against Teto's skin as she stumbled along her path to the apartment she was currently sharing with Miku. Barely being able to see because of how dark it was outside.
And to make it worse, her head was hurting. Badly. All day it had been hurting, for some strange reason.
Her whole body was worn out. She was so tired. She couldn't wait to finally get home so she could just lay down after all those hours of walking back and forth.
After a few more minutes of suffering in the freezing wind, she was now in front of the apartment complex.
Already reaching for her key, she practically raced up those stairs.
She unlocked the door without a second thought then shut and locked it back once she was fully inside. She removed her jacket and hung it in the coat closet beside the door with care, also taking her shoes off and putting them in the closet as well.
It was pretty quiet. The only sound Teto could hear was the TV playing faintly in the distance, coming from the living room. And some snoring.
Miku was already sleeping? It was only around 7 pm, if Teto remembered correctly.
Before joining Miku over there, Teto decided to get a little snack from the kitchen because she had hardly ate anything today and her stomach was starting to hurt.
Trying not to make too much noise, she slowly walked towards the small kitchen area, then turned the room's light on. The sudden brightness made her headache slightly worse, but she had to be able to see around the place, so she wouldn't accidentally knock something over or something.
Opening one of the drawers, she found just what she was looking for: her completely unopened pack of strawberry Pocky sticks. She had purchased them a while ago, and had no idea why she was just keeping them in here like this.
She took the pack out and opened it gently instead of continuing to wonder why she hadn't ate them yet.
After a few sticks were gone, Teto got kinda bored of eating them, despite the fact she had only eaten like...three or four. She simply placed the box back into the drawer, shut it, and then made her way towards Miku in the living room.
Miku was sitting up on the couch, sleeping peacefully. Slightly leaning towards the right arm of the couch, while hugging a pillow. Had she gotten bored waiting for Teto to return from work?
Teto glanced at the TV, and saw the sitcom that was playing on it. She's probably never seen it before, it looked unfamiliar.
A laughing track played as Teto positioned herself on the couch beside the sleeping Miku.
For a second Teto just sat there, absentmindedly watching the flashing television screen and listening to the soft sounds of Miku's breathing, hoping she wouldn't startle her awake with her sudden presence.
And then, slowly, she brought her hand up and ran her fingers through Miku's hair, smiling to herself. She brushed some hair out of Miku's face then resumed playing with it, happy.
Miku moved around a little due to the feeling that came out of nowhere, making Teto pause and look at the other woman, wondering if she accidentally woke her. But Miku stayed asleep, to Teto's relief.
Teto stopped her hand motion and settled on just laying there so Miku wouldn't actually wake up.
Noticing Miku's grip on the pillow loosening, Teto removed it from her completely and wrapped her arms around Miku's waist. She could feel Miku's heartbeat from how close they were. Which sorta brought a sense of comfort to Teto.
Another laughing track briefly snapped Teto out of her daze, but she quickly turned her attention back to Miku. Her eyes were growing heavy. Usually she doesn't fall asleep this fast, but today was an exception, since she had been on her toes literally all day. She's finally allowed to rest after all that.
She let out a satisfied exhale, drinking the calm atmosphere in. Taking one final glance at the television before shutting her eyes and letting herself fall asleep.
