SMOKING ZONE

Summary:

With a face that turns heads, they command attention wherever they go. Every girl dreams of them, but that’s the problem—fangirls never understand ‘personal space’ or ‘privacy.’ Finding a hidden refuge is their only escape.

Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo are the most popular bad boys on campus, leaders of rival groups, equally handsome, and utterly childish. They bicker like preschoolers every time they meet.

Their rivalry began with a tie for the title of the most good-looking guy. Since then, every encounter turns into a competition.

But everything escalates when they fall for the most popular girl, leading to an all-out war—and a secret born in the Smoking Zone.

Chapter Text

ZHAN's

I can't take this anymore, my jogging pants got stolen again for the nth time. Having a pretty face as myself is really cursed. But what can I do? The one above made me so fucking perfect, so how can they resist me?

I can't really blame them for admiring me so much. Yet, being as perfect as me, I also have a disadvantage, people tend to follow me all the time, and it's bothering me so much. I can't even have an hour with just myself.

If there's a place in this hell I can hide, I'll gladly take it, even if it's Lucifer's den.

While standing in front of my locker, staring at my missing pants, I notice that the people in the hallway parted and cleared the way as Wang Yibo entered the building with a tail made of fangirls.

I hate him so much

I glared at all the girls surrounding me, waiting for my every move. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rude, alright? I just don't like being pushed and surrounded by people I don't even know and continuously asking me bullshits.

As I entered the room, the people behind me were left outside the classroom. I sit beside Yu Bin, a close friend of mine. I don't know why, but I got irritated by his ugly face.

Yu Bin and I were childhood friends. I met him when I was 10 when I moved to their neighborhood. He's nice, yes, but at the same time a fucking piece of shit.

"What with the smug face, huh?" I said as I noticed this dude was staring at me.

"I got myself a girlfriend."

I looked at him puzzled. This guy, at the age of 21, never had a girlfriend or someone he likes in his entire life, making me question his sexuality sometimes'.

"And guess what?" he continued, still wearing a smug face.

"What?"

"Yes, and I love her so much," said Yu Bin with a gross expression.

I didn't get a chance to respond any more as our professor entered the room.

At the end of the class, for the first time, I fell so alone that Yu Bin, son of a bitch, left me all alone to meet his 'girlfriend'. Does he never hear the saying 'bro's before hoe's'? Whatever.

So I just met with my disciple. Yes, you read it right, my disciples. *Insert a smug face here.

They are basically my friends and members of the group I founded at this university. I cannot call it a gang group because we're nice. Yes, sometimes we bully others and also threaten them, but we're not a gang, ok? We are a religion.

A religion that every girl in this school worships.

YIBO's

I'm late again for my first subject for the win; my professor is going to kill me. This is my last warning, fuck. I don't really have a plan on being late today, but these stalkers always find a way to pester me. Well, I can't make that an excuse why I'm late; I can't say to my professor that I'm late because I got ambushed by a bunch of girls at the front gate.

I also don't like entertaining girls; the last time I entertained them, someone tried to drug me by forcing me to drink bottled water. Thankfully, I smelled something in that water before drinking it.

I can't really blame them for admiring me so much. I'm the most admirable guy in this university, the most handsome of them all. The only perfect being God ever made. Yes, that's me, Wang Yibo.

As soon as I step my foot at the main building, I notice a bunch of girls gathering on one spot staring at someone. It's Xiao Zhan being the center of attraction.

I hate him so much.

I quickly go straight to my room; thank God the professor was still not here. I sit beside my friend Ji Li. At the back were my adherents; yes, I call them my adherents, so?

"Why are you late?" Ji Li asked.

"Like the usual," I answered, and Ji Li already understood what I meant.

We're childhood friends, and we grow up together. He's basically my partner in crimes. I only got one problem with him; he's so fucking stupid. He doesn't know anything unless I tell him. This is also the reason why I trust him the most; having a single brain cell, he wouldn't think to betray me, right?

My adherents are basically my group; I'm the boss, of course. I founded it as a joke when I was in high school. But someone in this university founded his own and dared to defy me. So this group I founded as a joke ended up being one of the two most known groups in this school.

We are not a gang, alright? Yes, we are making fun of other students sometimes and do something stupid inside the university, but we are not a gang. I prefer to call it a Cult, a movement to destroy a religion.

A cult that every girl in this school worships.

THIRD-PERSON POV

Lehan University is home to two of the most notorious, most admired, and most feared groups on campus—Xiao Zhan’s Disciples and Wang Yibo’s Adherents.

They are not officially gangs—at least, that’s what they claim. But ask anyone in the university, and they’ll tell you otherwise. Wherever these two groups go, chaos is sure to follow. And when they cross paths? It’s a full-blown disaster.

On one side, you have Xiao Zhan. A student in the Art and Design Department, a genius when it comes to creativity, but utterly hopeless when it comes to sports. Despite his good grades, no one would dare call him a nerd. He walks with confidence, his charm making girls swoon and boys envious. A single glance from him can silence a room, and his effortless beauty makes even professors forget what they were about to say.

But behind his elegant, untouchable image, Xiao Zhan is merciless. He doesn’t fight—he destroys. With just a few words, he can break a person’s confidence beyond repair. His disciples follow him with unwavering loyalty, treating him like a living deity. And for many girls in this school, that’s exactly what he is.

Then, on the other side, there’s Wang Yibo. A student in the Physical Education Department, a prodigy in sports, but an absolute disaster in academics. He couldn’t care less about studying, but on the field? He dominates. Fast, strong, and fearless—Wang Yibo is the type of guy who plays to win, no matter the cost. His movements are sharp and calculated, and when he sets his eyes on something, he never lets go.

He doesn’t need words to intimidate—his presence alone is enough to send shivers down someone’s spine. Unlike Xiao Zhan, who manipulates with his mind, Wang Yibo’s approach is direct. If you piss him off, he won’t hesitate to crush you. His Adherents worship him not out of blind faith but out of sheer respect—because they know that when it comes down to it, Wang Yibo will always have their backs.

For years, these two ruled the university in their own ways. They had their own territories, their own followers, and their own reputations. But they also had one problem.

Each other.

The rivalry between Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo was legendary. It all started with a stupid poll.

Every year, the university held a vote to determine the most handsome guy on campus. A silly tradition meant for fun. But for these two? It became a declaration of war.

The result was always the same.

A tie.

Year after year, the votes came in, and every single time, they ended up with the exact same number.

For Xiao Zhan, this was unacceptable. He was perfect. Flawless. There was no one in this school—no, in this world—who could match him.

For Wang Yibo, it was infuriating. He was the best. The strongest, the most admired, the most untouchable. How could anyone—especially Xiao Zhan—be on his level?

They refused to accept it.

Every day, they found new ways to prove who was superior. Whether it was in sports, academics, social influence, or sheer intimidation, they competed in everything.

Who could attract more girls?
Who could get away with skipping class?
Who could make the professors bend to their will?
Who could make the most students tremble with just a look?

It didn’t matter what it was—if it could be turned into a competition, they made it one.

Their clashes became so common that the university practically expected them to fight. Every single day, without fail, there would be at least one incident. A heated argument in the cafeteria. A battle of wits in class. A full-on confrontation in the hallways.

So now, I’ll ask you this—

Whose side will you take?

Will you follow Xiao Zhan’s Disciples, the Religion built on worship?

Or will you stand with Wang Yibo’s Adherents, the Cult built on chaos?

Either way, one thing is certain.

This war is far from over.
