Chapter 1: Balancing Act

Chapter Text

My life is a juggling of half pieced fragments,

circling in a nauseating motion around two moons.

Green and blue, covered in ashen film of smoke.

How will I ever discover their true colors,

when they are both so afar?

My sky is covered in heavy pollution,

their faces too close and yet incomprehensible,

fading and moving when I grasp to reach.

Their light won't come through,

and again I'm alone.

They bash themselves against each other,

sparks flying to brighten up the night,

blinding me in their struggle.

They come undone, hurt,

wearing new craters over them.

And yet again I struggle to sooth,

to push them back to their juggling circle,

for I am a planet,

and they follow in my wake.

My beloved moons are flung by my gravity,

balanced by their own will and choice.

They come back to me, at the end of the day,

although they abhor each other.

The night draw closes and my moons banish from the sky,

the mist rises and shall be banished by my sun.

But our gentle dance will be back the next night,

As I commit another balancing act.
