Work Text:

The cool breeze danced across Hyunju's skin as she sat on the porch of her home in Thailand. The sun wasn't quite set, as there was still a bit of light painted onto the sky, but it was almost there.

The relaxed woman had a cup of green tea in her hands, warming them up as the cooler air created goosebumps all over. Her eyes watched the waves crashing against the sand as the birds flew over, making their way back home.

Hyunju never felt more content until she moved to Thailand with her girlfriend, Youngmi. A place where she never really felt judged for who she was–it was perfect.

Breathing in, Hyunju took in the crisp air, closing her eyes for just a moment. That was, until a familiar voice caught her attention.

“Baby? I got you a blanket.” Youngmi speaks in a soft tone as she enters onto the balcony. In her hand she holds two blankets. One with a bunch of different dogs on it, while the other one has cats. “Even though the air is nice.. I don't want you to get sick! Which one would you like?”

Hyunju opens her eyes almost instantly as she looks over to Youngmi. Her hair is in a messy ponytail as she wears one of Hyunju's sweaters. Hyunju can't help but smile, patting the chair beside her. “I like the dog one.” Hyunju adds, placing her cup of tea on the table.

Youngmi lets a smile stretch out across her face as she hands the blanket over to her girlfriend, then sits down beside her. “It's so nice out here.. but it's so cold.” The woman says as she covers her lower half with her own blanket.

Hyunju giggles quietly, looking at Youngmi once more. Her eyes scanned across her face, looking at all the details, such as her soft skin, her bare face after a long day of minimal makeup, and her beautiful eyes.

There are a few moments of silence as Youngmi watches over the beach, a comfortable smile making home on her face. Hyunju's eyes are still on her girlfriend as she continues to admire her. “You're so beautiful,” Hyunju says suddenly, adjusting her position in her chair. “I don't know how you do it.”

Youngmi's attention is suddenly on Hyunju. Her face is flushed at the sudden compliment. “Stop it…!”

“What? It's true.” Hyunju smiles at Youngmi as she leans forward. She can see the slight hint of red that is drawn across Youngmi's cheeks.

Youngmi sinks in her chair the tiniest bit, now attempting to hide her face in her blanket. “Are you trying to hide from me? Oh, pretty girl, it's not going to work.” Hyunju laughs, reaching her arm out towards Youngmi.

Youngmi peaks out of hiding and looks at her girlfriend. “I think coming out here was a mistake.” She says jokingly, as she stands up, pretending to leave.

Hyunju grabs Youngmi's arm gently, stopping her from leaving as Youngmi giggles. “You're so cute.”

Youngmi is then guided over to a smiling Hyunju, who seems to let go of Youngmi's arm, and instead pat her lap. “Come here, love.”

Youngmi, who seems to be blushing even more than before, takes the opportunity and carefully sits on her girlfriend lap, resting her head in the crook of Hyunju's neck. Youngmi always loved being close to Hyunju. She loved the comfort that Hyunju constantly gave her.

Hyunju's hand rubbed up and down Youngmi's arm in attempt to soothe her girlfriend, which seemed to be working as Youngmi's eyes closed for a moment. Her mind focused on Hyunju's heartbeat and breathing--two of Youngmi's favorite sounds.

The two women were silent, enjoying the tender moment of being close to one another. Hyunju's eyes focused on the scenery in front of her, while her heart focused on the woman who lay on top of her. Hyunju couldn't help but smile and place a gentle kiss ontop of Youngmi's head.

Hyunju used to hate silence while she was with someone, but ever since she met Youngmi and started dating her, silence was always nice as long as she was around. Especially when they were holding each other.

She loved the silence in the morning when they had just woken up, both entangled in one another's arms, their hair messy and their mind foggy from the long sleep they had. Hyunju also loved the silence at night, where they were both on the couch, legs resting on one another, as both of them read a book or did other relaxing activities.

Hyunju was always thankful for meeting the beautiful, kind and sweet girl that Youngmi was. She never quite understood how she got so lucky, but perhaps that would be a mystery forever.

"I love you." Youngmi speaks quietly, the tiredness overcoming her the tiniest bit, despite it still being early into the evening.

The girl had been working online for the past few hours, leaving her tired and wanting to spend time with her girlfriend. Hyunju was always her favorite part of the day. No matter what, nothing could beat spending time with her girlfriend.

Hyunju rests her head against Youngmi's holding her closer than before. She let's out a relaxed breath before replying. "I love you more, sweetheart."

Youngmi can't help but giggle to herself. The vibrations and sound cause Hyunju to raise a brow. "What are you laughing at?" Hyunju asks, a sliver of tease in her tone.

"I think it's silly that you think you love me more than I love you." Youngmi confesses.

Hyunju rolls her eyes playfully as she squeezes Youngmi's arm softly. The two always had this debate: who loved each other more. There was currently no winner, as the two always believed that they were truly in the right, and a winner at heart. "Mmmh, really?" Hyunju questions.

"Of course," Youngmi says, carefully raising her head to look at Hyunju. "I'll always love you more."

Hyunju's eyes lock with Youngmi's before they flicker to her lips, then back at her girlfriends eyes. It took a lot of courage to not kiss her. After all, this was a serious debate.

"I think that's impossible when I'm here." Hyunju argues back.

"You know, I actually looked our debate up on Google, like one would..." Youngmi starts.

"Oh really?" Hyunju smirks.

"Mhm!"

"And what did Google tell you?" Hyunju asks.

"With millions and millions of votes.. They actually said that I, Kim Youngmi, love you, Cho Hyunju, more than anything.." Youngmi looks at Hyunju once more, trying not to let out a giggle. "And.. you can't really argue with Google, you know?"

"Oh, of course," Hyunju nods, playing into the obvious joke. "But.. sometimes Google is wrong and they have to edit their answers. I think I might file a report for those answers.. because, well, we both know that I, Cho Hyunju, love you, Kim Youngmi, more than anything!"

Youngmi giggles, hiding her face in Hyunju's shoulder before looking at her once more.

The two share a moment, as they both look into each other's eyes again. Hyunju can't help but let her concentration flicker to Youngmi's lips every once in a while.

Youngmi notices after a few seconds, smiling at the obvious thing that Hyunju wanted to do. "Do you want to kiss me?"

Hyunju's eyes seem to lock with Youngmi's eyes. This time, they don't flicker to her lips, as she is caught red-handed. "What if I do?"

Youngmi shrugs her shoulders, now adjusting herself to rest her arms on Hyunju's shoulders, and interlocking her hands behind her girlfriends neck. "I might just allow you to do so."

It's now Hyunju's turn to adjust herself, as she carefully holds Youngmi's hips before connecting her lips to her girlfriends.

Hyunju's kiss is soft, although it can be hard to not be aggressive in the moment. Her lips practically aches for Youngmi's.

Youngmi can feel Hyunju getting slightly needy, which causes her to smile in the middle of the kiss, making Hyunju part for a few moments. "What's wrong? Am I too rough?"

"No, no," Youngmi says, letting out a relaxed sigh."You're perfect. I just needed to see your beautiful face."

Hyunju can feel her cheeks heating up now, as her eyes look all across Youngmi's face. She instantly notices lipstick above Youngmi's lip. "Oh, you have some lipstick on your face.. I forgot to take it off.."

As Hyunju goes to wipe it off, Youngmi stops her, earning a confused look from Hyunju. "I love being coveted in your lipstick."

Hyunju lets out an embarrassed chuckle. Her lipstick most likely looked a bit sloppy after kissing Youngmi, but she knew there was no point in taking off or fixing it. "You do?"

"Mhm," Youngmi answers, her eyes looking down at Hyunju's messy lipstick. "You know, I think we should move this to another room.."

Hyunju's smile grows bigger at Youngmi's words, and her heart races just a bit more. Although the two have spent many, many nights together, Hyunju would still get the familiar feeling of butterflies. "Oh really?"

"Definitely." Youngmi says, carefully getting up from Hyunju's lap. "I'll take the blankets and put them away, while you go get ready."

Hyunju feels herself getting giddy as she quickly stands up, earning a few quiet laughs from Youngmi.

As Youngmi goes to walk in to the house, she looks behind herself, and over at Hyunju.

"Oh.. and I would love for you to try out your new lipsticks," Youngmi suggests. "I'd love to be the tester for those."
