Chapter Text
The train chugged along, as it normally would. Probably taking kids back.
It was a little late for that.
Probably ran late.
Sprout sighed, baking a set of cup cakes for tomorrow. That was all he was seen as. And.. sure, he loved baking but.. there was something different. It wasn’t fun.
He hummed a little tune and put the cupcakes in, cleaning up his mess.
Suddenly an announcement came over the PA.
”Hey everyone!”
of course it was dandy.
“We have a new toon arriving! Please welcome them nicely.”
“Hmm.. a new toon?” Sprout said, finishing putting away the eggs.
He shrugged and finished cleaning, waiting for the cupcakes.
”SPROUT COME HERE!” Shelly yelled.
Sprout walked over to Shelly and dusted his apron. “What’s up?”
There was another toon, probably the new one. It was some sort of chocolate pastry.
“Hi..” The new person said.
”uh hi- I’m sprout.” I just knew we were gonna be best friends
”I’m cosmo!” They got slightly excited and smiled.
The moment was perfect, like a moment so perfect something has to ruin it. And it did.
The fire alarm went off.
of course.
”Shit-“
Sprout ran to the kitchen and pulled out the cupcakes, he wafted them and turned off the oven.
”Now I have to make a new batch.”
He sighed.
“Uh-“ a voice came from behind, “sorry if I did that.. I can help make new ones! I’m a good baker.”
“It wasn’t, but sure.” For some reason sprout doubted cosmo, but he was fine with help.
They grabbed the ingredients and started working.
“oh uh.. try adding more milk and frosting.” The cosmic brownie said.
Sprout paused, maybe they do know something? He listened anyways and.. for the first time in a couple months.. he felt really happy while baking.
Eventually they got to putting it in the oven and set a timer. “Don’t forget to take it out this time!” Cosmo said, laughing with sprout.
“So- uh.. how’s your arrival?” Sprout asked
Cosmo looked at the roof, thinking, before confidently looking at him and saying, “It’s interesting. I think I’ll like it here though.”
Eventually they took them out and tried them.
“Oh my gosh your addition makes these ten times better.” Sprout said, practically melting in his chair.
Cosmo chuckled, “You should try my cookies then!”

Later that night, sprout had a little bit of trouble falling asleep, still thinking of the interaction. Eventually he did fall asleep, where he dreamt about cupcakes and cookies :D
