Work Text:

Cordoba, Spain

Sae trusts you. Despite anything bad that might happen because of you, he still chooses to trust you.

Just like tonight—when it turns out you didn’t buy the train ticket back to Madrid, forcing the two of you to return to your hotel and stay another night.

“Sae?” you call his name, noticing he hasn’t spoken a word to you since you got back from the train station.

He glances at you briefly while drinking water from his bottle. To be fair, unpacking two suitcases is real work too, especially since he declined your offer to help.

Cariño, I’m sorry. I know you’re mad, but—”

“Sit.” he says, pointing at the bed.

You curse yourself, knowing just how much trouble you’re in. But when you remain standing instead of obeying, his brow lifts in silent warning.

“Didn’t I tell you to sit?”

You frown. You don’t even know what he’s going to do. Still, you can’t help but feel a little afraid.

“Sae—”

His green irises meet yours, and for a moment, he looks surprised. You look… scared.

Are you afraid of him?

“Are you scared because I told you to sit?” He asks calmly. But for some unknown reason, the feeling in your heart is far from what called “calm”

He’s never yelled at you or gotten truly angry, so even he seems confused. What exactly are you afraid of?

“Sae…” Oh God, how many times are you going to say his name? Why is that all you can manage to say?

You shake your head, biting your lower lip. Once again, your boyfriend gestures to the bed, silently telling you to sit down.

“Then sit.”

“…Okay,” you mumble before walking over and sitting on the edge of the bed.

Your eyes widen in surprise when he kneels on the floor before you, his hands gently taking your feet onto his thigh. His eyes scan the redness and blisters marring your skin.

“What are—ouch!” You grimace when he presses lightly on one of them.

Blame the new shoes you bought online. You loved them, but Sae warned you that wearing them during the trip was a bad idea.

Still, you insisted—at least before leaving the city.

“I noticed you were walking weirdly,” He murmurs, carefully placing your feet back on the floor before standing up. “and it’s not because of what we did last night.”

“Sae!” You slap his arm, earning a breathless chuckle from him.

But he’s right. Back at the station, when you realized your ticket wasn’t a round-trip ticket, you had been running around in a panic, trying to ask for help. That was when the pain started, but you had ignored it in favor of breaking the bad news to him.

“Let’s take a shower, and I’ll put bandages on them.”

“You brought them?”

He shrugs. “I knew this would happen.”

After realizing that you were in pain because of those stupid heels he had forbidden, the only thing on his mind was taking care of you.

He can’t even remember the reason why you two are still in this city.

Notes:

actually, they could’ve just buy the tickets at the train station... but pls just let it be, for the plot hehe
