Summary
In an alternate high school universe, Chuuya and Dazai are forced to work together on a project. Dazai, hiding the emotional scars from an abusive home life with Mori, struggles with his mental health and self-harm. Chuuya notices Dazai’s exhaustion and subtle changes in behavior but is initially frustrated with him. As they spend more time together, Dazai becomes less defensive, and a reluctant bond forms between them. With the quiet support of their literature teacher, Oda, Dazai begins to secretly read a book about hope, questioning his grim outlook on life. Through slow, unspoken moments, Chuuya and Dazai’s relationship shifts, with Chuuya becoming more aware of Dazai’s pain and Dazai quietly allowing himself to trust him.
