Oz knew that Break knew. As for Alice, she didn’t, though she could tell his moods and would flop herself over him and talk to him until he felt better. As for Gil— he had no idea, and Oz planned to keep it that way.
He fantasized nonetheless; about this new, adult Gil comforting him. That was probably what made him slip up and change in the open.
Gil’s fingers caught on the edge of his shirt. “Oz. Who did this to you?”
“I lost a fight with a cat!” Oz said cheerfully, and wouldn’t talk about it any further.
