Chapter 1: Saviour

Chapter Text

The master had been cornered up into a rusted wall, the alien he had pissed off was aiming some kind of contraption at him, he could only assume it was built to kill him.

A nervous laughter left his lips as he lifted his hands defensively, a sharp gasp as his back hit the wall behind him

"Lad.. let's talk this out, shall we?"

He quickly added, trying to save his own ass but to no avail and the other didn't lower his gun like contraption. Screwing his eyes shut and hoping this wouldn't hurt.

Flinching out of reflex when he heard the device go off. He blinked his eyes open when he realized nothing happened.

The room was covered in smoke and somehow he was behind some tall persons shadow. He was more than confused right now, he's not dead? How? There's was an odd light shining when the mechanism went off but he thought it was just the bullet shooting out turns out it was actually the person infront of him.. no they weren't a person they were something much more.

They were an angel.

Not just in a compliment sense but literally, their large white wings almost fully encapsulating the room, their halo letting out a slight glow on top of their head. From his angle he could see their fierce expression, it seemed so full of anger. But he wasn't scared.. for sure.

When the smoke died down and the sound of his coughing made their dangerous gaze move towards him, his eyes widened in shock at their stare, not really certain if they were going to kill him next or not.

They moved closer to him, having to bend down slightly to be eye level with the master intimidated him a bit.

"You"

Their voice deep and loud it almost felt like the ground was shaking, their eyes furrowed angrily as their hand pushed him back on to wall. His hearts almost pounding out his chest.

"-should really stop getting so close to getting killed!"

They complained and groaned, standing tall once again. Their wings relaxing behind their back, rubbing the bridge of their nose. The maste blinked confusedly, he was sure they were going to kill him or something

"I swear, it's like you actively try to see how far you can go before I have to step in physically and this time I actually had to!"

They grumbled, scolding the master and he could only look up at them like a guilty dog who just chewed up the couch.

Their angry grumbles turned into worried words as they slowly paced around the small metal room.

"Gods, I shouldn't have literally killed him.. and now you've seen me too.."

"Now what do I do!! They'll banish me if they find out I killed someone.. but it was to protect you so maybe it's fine?? No no I could just.. stay with you just to see what happens, is that alright?"

If he was being honest, he was not listening to them while they were ranting, he stopped paying attention after they said something about banishment, so he just looked at them with the same confused expression.

"Sorry, what did you ask me?"

"If I could maybe stay with you, for both your safety and mine"

He blinked again, a few seconds pass as he processed what they were asking, the angels nervousness was something new and strange since he just now saw them to be so intimidating.

"Wait what?! Stay with me? In my tardis!?" He yelled out, almost offended but it did feel like he owed them since they did just save him from getting killed.

"I don't even know your name and-"

"It's Cyrus."

They cut his sentence before he could start angrily ranting. Looking up at them he did feel something, maybe some type of annoyance? It must be.

"And why exactly did you save me?" He asked with his arms crossed, their eyebrow raised in a confused way.

"Well, cause I'm your guardian angel, master."

"My what."

The two of them stared at eachother for a brief second, letting the master take a good look at them. Their long white hair sitting on top of their muscled and scarred arms.. and their odd yet formal attire.

Cyrus didn't have to process him, they'd been looking out for him this whole time. A few years now actually, since they've been assigned to protect him and right now is the first time he's actually seen them.

"A guardian angel, an angel who is assigned to someone to protect physically through another realm, which isn't visible to.. most beings"

"Well then, I guess I'll have to bring you in my tardis since you're so important to me" The master added sarcastically grumbled, already walking out of the room.

"Great!" They replied with a grin, he couldn't see it since his back was turned but he knew their oblivious ass was smiling. Clearly not being in the mood to argue after escaping almost dying he just groaned and let them follow him back to the tardis.

It was a short walk back, he originally got into this mess whilst trying to steal some artifact, just for the hell of it honestly and he didn't expect to almost die.

It was silent between the two, it was always silent when the master went on these adventures so he shouldn't be weirded out right now, right?? Now that he knew that they've been with him this whole time just.. observing him, it sent a shiver down his spine.

"Here we are, just get in." The master coldly said, opening the tardis door for them, they didn't seem to be suprised at his tone and just went in. Having to duck a little bit just incase they'd hit their head on the door frame.

The master groaned under his breath, closing the door and instantly walking past Cyrus, leaving them in the console room but they didn't think much of it but now they can finally explore the tardis on their own.

Tracing their hand against the console, almost being able to feel it's emotion. They smiled to themselves, wandering deeper into the tardis.
