Kanade woke up to the sound of Mafuyus voice. When she opened her eyes she saw mafuyu hovering over her. She yawned and sat up.
“Ngh… Ma.. Mafuyu?”
“Happy birthday, Kanade.”
Kanade had completely forgotten it was her birthday today, so she was a little surprised to hear Mafuyu say that.
“Thank you, Mafuyu.”
Kanade smiled at Mafuyu. Her smile was small, but it made Mafuyu feel like her heart was melting. Her smile meant a lot to her.
“I got you a gift.” Mafuyu said softly, looking kind of flustered.
“Oh?”
“Do you want me to go get it?”
“Sure, that would mean alot, Mafuyu.”
“Okay.” Mafuyu left Kanades bedroom to go get her birthday present. Kanade got out of bed and went to the kitchen to get a apple, since she was hungry. She hadn't ate in a while, so her body felt a little weak. But she managed to get up and go to the kitchen. Once she got her apple, she headed back to her bedroom, and sat down on her bed. Her bed made a little creak when she sat down. She took a bite of her apple. It reminded her of the applesauce her mother made her when she was little. She would do anything to go back to her childhood.
“Im back.” Mafuyu came back into Kanades bedroom, this time holding a box. The box had holes, but Kanade didn’t notice.
“Is that the present you got me?”
“Yes. Would you like to open it?”
“Yes please, Mafuyu.” Mafuyu handed Kanade the box, this time she noticed the holes in the box. Kanade smiled at Mafuyu again, and Mafuyu smiled back.
Kanade slowly lifts up the top of the box, revealing a small kitten curled up in a ball.
“Y-you got me a cat?”
“Yes” Mafuyu softly smiles at Kanade. She sits down next to her and scoops up the small kitten in her palm. She holds the cat up to Kanade as she shifts her body closer to her. Kanade gets flustered as Mafuyus body rubs against hers.
“Would you like to pet her?”
“Yes, of course.” Kanade rests her head on Mafuyus shoulder, and holds her hand while using her thumb to pet the small kitten. Kanade and Mafuyu move their heads to face eachother, then pull into a warm kiss, while holding the kitten. Once they pull away, they stare at eachother for a little.
“Mafuyu?”
“Yes?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Kanade."
