Chapter Text

Makoto Naegi had a mission. Ever since Kiyotaka and Mondo had become best buds, Naegi wondered what other seeming enemies could become friends. It had been a lot more peaceful the last couple days without those two bickering, and another pair of “enemies” had crossed his mind.

“W-why would I want to hang out with that… deviant!?” Toko sputtered, still refusing to open her dorm’s door fully. Makoto decided to go to her first, since she’s a bit… harder to persuade. Especially since Togami refused to help.

“You guys both like writing, why don’t you like him?”

She scoffed, fidgeting with one of her braids. “I’d b-barely call that writing. He’s a f-fraud…”

“Have you read his writing? You don’t know if something is good until you try!” Makoto’s voice was unrelentlessly cheery, like usual. Toko went quiet, eyes squinted into a suspicious, maybe slightly inquisitive, expression. “...If I say y-yes, will you leave me alone…?” Makoto nodded firmly, glad to see Toko give in, even if
unexpectedly. Maybe this could actually work out!
—-----------------

“I don’t know. I’m not sure if Ms. Fukawa is interested in the prospect of a platonic relationship with me…” Hifumi twiddled his fingers, looking a bit sad.

“No, no! I already talked to her! She agreed!” Makoto shook his head, leaning slightly against the pool table in the lounge.

Hifumi's eyes widened, looking back down at Makoto. He puffed out his cheeks defensively. “Really? She’s not gonna call my hard work trashy again?” Makoto shook his head again.

Hifumi thought it over, eventually nodding and standing up a bit straighter. “Ok! I trust you, Mr. Naegi, so I will take your word that this will go swimmingly!” (“I didn’t quite say that…”) Makoto thought, but he’s got them both on board, what’s the worst that can happen?
