Chapter Text

The sun isn't the one at fault. It's your terrible aim.

Those are the words that keep repeating in the back of your mind as you blame it for getting in the way of your target.

A gust of wind sends your arrow flying back. Before you can even think about dodging it, it pierces through one of the clouds behind you

"Son of a-" you cut yourself off. 'I need to focus.' You tell yourself as you grab another golden flower from your halo, turning it into an arrow. Readying your bow and letting your mana flow into it, releasing it.

You watch the arrow fly at a high speed, finally disappearing when the targets are hit.

"FINALLY!" I shout, throwing my fists into the air with pride bandaged wings spreading before sprawling down on the cloud beneath your divine self.

I bit back the yelp of pain that rushed through me from the sudden movement of my wings, but I ignored it, much too happy to let it get in the way of my achievement.

"Hah!" I laugh. "It only took a few tries, but I did it!

Eventually, sit up and look down to watch the humans doing their usual routines talking amongst each other, going to work, and even some scuffles here and there.

“Let's see…Who's next…”

-------------------------------------------------------------

"UGHHH, THIS IS SOOOO BORINGGGGG!!" I shout in frustration.

The past few hours, nothing noteworthy has happened, just a few couples you thought were good together here and there and some that you've decided didn't deserve it.( And perhaps some lost arrows that you'd have to find later.)

But it was still not enough for me to feel something.

Sighing to myself, I close my eyes.

Wind blows softly, ruffling my hair gently as I try to find some peace from the busy day.

Reaching up, I grab a flower from my halo, but instead of turning it into an arrow, I hold it in my hands, caressing its soft petals.

What do I do now? I ponder.

An idea goes off in my head.

How about you shoot an arrow blindly? An idea so great it has led to many problems in the past.

But you know what they say the past is in the past.

Before I could even think of the consequences of my actions, I opened my eyes, my bow already at my fingertips, and an arrow flying to who knows where.

I watched my arrow fly past a man, almost grazing him in the process, then sink into a lake. At least it wasn't human. Lucky me.

“Lucky.” I laugh kicking my bow. What a joke.

That was the third arrow I've lost in a day.

I'll have to go find them before a human finds one.

"AGGHHH!!!" I scream "IDIOT" I scold myself internally, insulting my idiotic decisions.

If a human got hold of one that would be terrible, and if the upper deities were to find out how I lost this many arrows, I'd be punished terribly. I sigh, defeated.

You shudder at the thought of their judgmental eyes on you and the thought of someone other than you wielding your arrow. I stopped my brain from spiraling thoughts about the many terrible things that could happen.

there were more pressing matters.

"I have to find them quickly." I say to myself, using transformation magic to look like a human while grabbing some flowers from my halo, converting the once golden flowers into arrows and placing them in my light copper quiver.

Getting up, I dust myself off feeling the cloud underneath me shift around as I look for a balance bending down to pick up my abused bow.

I toss the quiver around my shoulder and summon a magic object to my hands.

A teleportation device.
A rare item that you just so have happened to find one day also a pretty sought out item according to the many threatening messages you've gotten from you dear comrades
Suppose even the gods would kill for an object that made transportation easier.

Sure, you could just fly, but that'd be difficult with the battered wings on you.

It's also much easier to get around with, and you didn't feel up to wasting your energy just for some arrows.

I held the object close, hoping to the fates nothing goes wrong channeling my mana into the object's center, closed my eyes, and imagined the village where my previous mistake of an  arrow sunk into the lake.

When I opened my eyes once again, I found myself in...
