Glutton
Chapter 1
Izuku Midoriya was a normal child—well, as normal as a kid could be when he was constantly hungry and eating… well, everything. It started small—bits of paper, stray crumbs from the floor. But then it escalated. Metal screws, chunks of wood, glass shards. His parents had caught him chewing on the leg of their coffee table more than once.
At first, Hisashi and Inko were horrified. No normal child should be able to digest things like that without getting sick. But no matter what Izuku ate, he never seemed hurt. If anything, he was perfectly healthy— thriving , even.
Terrified but desperate for answers, they took him to the doctor.
Inko held her son tightly in her lap as Hisashi leaned forward, eyes locked on the doctor, who was flipping through Izuku’s medical file. Izuku, completely oblivious, gnawed on the sleeve of his sweater, humming happily.
“So,” the doctor said, rubbing his temple, “your son eats everything ?”
“Yes! Everything!” Hisashi ran a hand through his hair. “Wood, metal, glass . I caught him chewing on a damn lightbulb once!”
“And it never hurts him?”
“Not once,” Inko said, voice laced with worry. “We thought maybe his stomach would get upset, but he just keeps eating.”
The doctor hummed, looking down at Izuku, who had stopped chewing his sleeve and was now reaching for the pen on his desk. The doctor quickly pulled it away before the child could shove it in his mouth.
“This could be an early Quirk manifestation,” the doctor said. “Some children’s Quirks activate before four, but it’s rare. It sounds like his body needs a variety of materials to function. If he isn’t experiencing any negative effects, it’s likely his body is processing these things in ways we don’t understand yet.”
Inko bit her lip. “So, what should we do?”
“Let him eat what he naturally craves—but within reason . No toxic substances. No overly dangerous objects.”
“No car tires,” Hisashi muttered.
The doctor shot him a look. “ Definitely no car tires.”
Izuku only giggled, reaching for the doctor’s stethoscope.
By the time Izuku turned four, his Quirk had fully awakened.
It was a normal evening in the Midoriya household—or, well, their version of normal, which meant watching their son casually munch on nails at the dinner table.
And then, suddenly, Izuku froze. His small hands clutched his throat as he gagged violently.
Inko’s chair screeched against the floor as she shot up. “Izuku?!”
Hisashi was already moving, kneeling beside their son and patting his back. “Come on, kiddo, cough it up.”
Izuku’s face twisted in discomfort. His small body shook as he let out a choked gag, eyes wide with panic. Then—
He threw up.
Something slammed against the table with a wet, sickening squelch.
For a long moment, no one moved.
A pool of thick, dark saliva spread across the wood, but the object in the center of it twitched .
And then it moved .
It was alive .
A grotesque, malformed creature, no bigger than a loaf of bread, lay writhing in the mess of bile and spit. Its skin was an unnatural shade of dark green, slick with fluids. It had too many limbs—spindly, clawed fingers twitching as it let out a strange, gurgling wheeze. It had no eyes, but a mouth too large for its body, jagged teeth clicking together like it was trying to bite at the air.
Inko let out a strangled gasp, stumbling backward. Hisashi’s face had gone pale.
And Izuku?
Izuku wiped his mouth, blinked at the wriggling creature, then tilted his head.
“…Can I keep it?”
Hisashi groaned, dragging a hand down his face. Inko, still staring at the monstrosity on the table, barely held back a scream.
This was going to be a long journey.
Izuku Midoriya’s Quirk – "Glutton"
Izuku's Quirk, "Glutton," is a sentient stockpiling Quirk that allows him to consume, absorb, and store materials within his body for various effects. The Quirk has three main storage methods:
- Permanent Absorption: Anything Izuku eats and absorbs into this category permanently enhances his body. This can include increased strength, speed, durability, or even mental capabilities. The more he consumes, the more his body evolves.
- Example: If he eats steel, his bones might become denser and harder. If he eats books (somehow digesting the knowledge), his cognitive abilities may increase.
- Delayed Release: Items Izuku swallows into this storage can be released later, often in an enhanced or transformed state. The longer something stays inside, the more powerful it becomes upon release.
- Example: Swallowing a small rock and keeping it stored for weeks might allow him to spit it out as a speeding bullet.
- "Living Storage" (Sentient Regurgitation): This is the most bizarre and unpredictable aspect of his Quirk. Izuku can consume organic or inorganic materials and later vomit them out as living, often monstrous, creatures. These creatures vary in form and function depending on what he has eaten. Some obey him instinctively, while others are wild, acting on primal instincts.
The First Creature – "Chomper"
The first time Izuku unknowingly activated this part of his Quirk, he coughed up a small, grotesque monster onto the dinner table. It was a flesh-crafted abomination , a being that had gestated inside his body without his knowledge.
Appearance:
- A small, dark green, slug-like body slick with saliva.
- Multiple spindly, clawed arms, too long for its tiny frame.
- A grotesquely large mouth filled with jagged, uneven teeth that clack together when it's hungry.
- No eyes, relying on vibrations and scent to navigate.
- Its skin is slightly translucent, pulsing with veins and shifting muscle, as if still forming.
Abilities:
- Enhanced Growth: If given time, "Chomper" can grow larger by consuming more materials, especially organic matter.
- Regenerative Biting: Its bite injects a mutagenic saliva, causing rapid, unstable regeneration in its prey. Some creatures may heal rapidly, but others might mutate unpredictably.
- Instinctual Loyalty: Despite its monstrous form, "Chomper" seems to recognize Izuku as its "creator" and is naturally obedient—at least for now. However, if left unchecked, its behavior could turn unpredictable.
Further Potential of Izuku’s Quirk
- If he absorbs enough knowledge-based material (books, data chips, or even specific creatures), his intelligence could skyrocket beyond normal human limits.
- By storing a material long enough, he could eventually develop Quirk-like properties depending on what he eats—if he swallows something highly explosive, could he one day breathe fire?
- Future creatures he regurgitates may be less monstrous and more functional—a living suit of armor, an organic weapon, or even a sentient ally.
Glutton
Chapter 1 (Continued)
The Quirk Registry Office was packed with families, the air buzzing with excited children eager to show off their new abilities. Some kids levitated small objects, others produced tiny sparks or harmless bursts of energy. Normal, understandable quirks.
Then there was Izuku.
Inko gripped his hand tightly as they stood in line, heart pounding as she went over what had happened at dinner for the hundredth time. Her baby had—had thrown up a thing . A living , breathing , horrific thing. The image of it still burned in her mind—those too-long limbs, that clacking jaw, the way it had gurgled and twitched in the mess of saliva before looking up at Izuku like it recognized him .
Even worse? The damn thing was still alive .
A soft chittering noise came from the bag slung over Hisashi’s shoulder. He let out a long-suffering sigh, adjusting the strap.
“You sure it was a good idea to bring it?” he muttered.
“What were we supposed to do? Leave it at home ?” Inko hissed back, her voice barely above a whisper. “I wasn’t about to let it skitter off somewhere while we were gone!”
Another soft, wet noise came from the bag. Hisashi grumbled under his breath, muttering something about this is not what I signed up for before turning to look at their son.
Izuku, completely unbothered by the situation, stood beside them happily munching on a metal spoon they had given him to keep him from eating anything worse .
“Kiddo, you nervous?” Hisashi asked, trying to ignore the sound of metal being chewed like it was candy.
Izuku shook his head, smiling wide. “Nope! I get to tell the doctor about Chomper ! And maybe they'll tell me how to make him bigger!”
Inko paled. Hisashi let out a low groan.
Before they could argue, a voice called out.
“Midoriya Izuku?”
A woman with short black hair and a clipboard stood at the doorway, glancing around the waiting room.
“That’s us,” Hisashi muttered, lifting the bag slightly as the creature inside shifted. Inko squeezed Izuku’s hand, leading him toward the examination room.
The doctor assigned to their case, a sharp-eyed woman named Dr. Shimizu, didn’t seem fazed when Hisashi and Inko explained Izuku’s… dietary habits .
She did, however, stop writing completely when they mentioned the creature.
“…You’re saying he vomited a living being ?”
Inko swallowed nervously. “Y-Yes.”
Dr. Shimizu’s gaze flickered to Izuku, who was now swinging his legs happily in the chair. “And… you brought it with you?”
The bag twitched. A deep, wet clicking noise came from inside.
Hisashi sighed. “Yeah.”
The doctor adjusted her glasses. “I need to see it.”
Inko hesitated before reaching over, carefully unzipping the bag. The moment the opening was wide enough, a long, clawed hand lurched out, grabbing the edge of the table with a wet slap.
Dr. Shimizu barely flinched as the rest of the horrifying little monster pulled itself into the open.
It was still small, no larger than a cat, but its grotesque features remained. Greenish, slick skin pulsed with unnatural movement. Its limbs—far too thin for comfort—twitched as it adjusted itself. And its mouth , filled with jagged, uneven teeth, clacked together rapidly , producing a sound somewhere between a chatter and a growl .
The tension in the room was thick.
And then Izuku beamed.
“Hi, Chomper!”
The monster immediately perked up. Its twisted, eyeless face snapped toward the sound of Izuku’s voice. Then, with a gurgling chirp, it skittered forward—climbing up onto his shoulder and wrapping its too-long fingers around his arm like some kind of demented pet.
Dr. Shimizu slowly turned back to Hisashi and Inko.
“…I’m going to be honest with you,” she said, voice completely flat. “I have no idea what the hell this is.”
Hisashi sighed. “Yeah, join the club.”
Inko wrung her hands together. “Is it… dangerous ?”
Dr. Shimizu tilted her head slightly, watching as the creature nuzzled against Izuku’s cheek. The boy giggled, patting it on the head. Chomper let out a weirdly content noise before clicking its teeth together happily.
“Well,” she said after a long pause. “It doesn’t seem aggressive. At least, not toward him.”
Izuku beamed. “That’s because he’s my friend!”
“…Right.”
The doctor took a deep breath before turning back to her notes. “Alright. From what I can gather, your son’s Quirk allows him to consume and store materials, either permanently, for later use, or—apparently—to regurgitate living organisms . The creature’s exact biology is unknown, but it appears to be semi-sentient and bonded to him in some way. Whether he can create more of them or if they have unique abilities remains to be seen.”
She set down her pen and folded her hands together.
“I can say with certainty that this is a mutation-type Quirk with transformative properties . But beyond that?” She exhaled slowly. “You’re going to need to monitor him. Very, very carefully.”
Inko swallowed. “You mean to make sure he doesn’t… eat something too dangerous?”
Dr. Shimizu shook her head.
“No,” she said. “To make sure he doesn’t create something worse.”
Silence filled the room. Izuku, meanwhile, simply continued petting Chomper, humming happily.
After a moment, Hisashi groaned.
“…We are so screwed.”
The Midoriya family stood in a sterile white room in the Quirk Registry Office , Izuku shifting uncomfortably beside his parents. Hisashi nervously drummed his fingers against his thigh, while Inko kept a firm grip on her son’s hand. Izuku, however, seemed mostly indifferent—more interested in the vending machine by the door than anything else.
A tall, imposing woman in a uniform walked into the room, clipboard in hand. She didn’t smile as she glanced at the Midoriyas, her eyes flicking down to Izuku.
“Midoriya Izuku?” she asked, her voice clipped.
“Y-Yes,” Hisashi answered, forcing a smile. “We’re here to—well, register his Quirk.”
The woman raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. “Judging by the file, this is a unique case. Are you sure his Quirk isn’t… dangerous?”
Inko flinched slightly at the tone but nodded. “We’re not entirely sure what it is, but he’s—he’s not hurt anyone.”
Izuku, bored by the conversation, had moved closer to the vending machine, pressing buttons and watching in awe as snacks slid down the chute.
“ Izuku ,” Inko snapped, catching his wandering attention. He pouted but trotted back over.
The woman in the uniform sighed, flipping through the documents on her clipboard. “Alright, let’s get this over with. Izuku, we’re going to need you to demonstrate your Quirk. Please stand in the center of the room.”
Izuku shuffled to the middle, staring up at the woman with wide eyes. Hisashi leaned over, whispering in his ear. “Izuku, remember: no eating anything too weird .”
Izuku nodded enthusiastically, his hands already itching for something to snack on. He looked around the room, eyes settling on a nearby paperweight. Without thinking, he rushed over and popped it into his mouth.
“ Izuku! ” Inko shouted, her heart stopping.
The woman sighed, raising her hand. “It’s fine. Let’s see what he does.”
Moments later, Izuku stood in the middle of the room, the paperweight visibly moving under his skin as though it were shifting positions inside of him. The woman, standing behind a glass partition for safety, observed quietly.
“Okay, Izuku, now release it,” she instructed.
Izuku, eyes sparkling, nodded and placed his hands on his stomach. For a moment, the room fell into an eerie silence.
Then, without warning, Izuku threw up .
A loud, wet squelch echoed in the room as the paperweight—now twisted and misshapen—plopped onto the floor. But this wasn’t just a metal object anymore. The paperweight began to twitch violently, growing legs that unfolded like insect limbs, black tendrils sprouting from the jagged edges where it had been consumed.
The creature’s form shifted and expanded, growing to a grotesque size as its head split open like a blooming flower. Its mouth, wide and jagged, opened with a hiss, a soft, gurgling growl escaping from deep within.
Inko gasped. “Izuku! What is that?”
Izuku simply stared, blinking in awe. “It’s my paperweight… but it’s cooler now!”
The woman behind the glass partition took a deep breath. “So it… creates life .”
The creature, now fully formed, stepped forward, its many legs scraping against the tile floor as it looked around, confused. It then locked its attention on Izuku and made a soft chirping noise.
“Do you have any control over it?” the woman asked, now with a bit more concern in her voice.
Izuku smiled brightly, oblivious to the potential danger of the situation. “I think so! It’s my friend!”
Hisashi, still looking more than a little worried, leaned toward the partition. “Izuku… I don’t think it’s safe to call it a friend .”
Just as the creature took another step forward, its body suddenly shuddered, and its form began to change again. The legs retracted back into its body, and its mouth sealed shut. In an instant, it turned back into the same twisted metal paperweight it had once been.
Izuku, still smiling, bent down and picked it up, holding it in his hands like a toy. “See? It’s fine. Just… different now.”
The woman stared at Izuku, her expression unreadable. “I see…”
Outside the room, the Quirk registry officer’s expression was tense, her lips pressed into a thin line. “This is… far more dangerous than we anticipated.”
One of the nearby researchers, a man in a white coat, shook his head. “The potential for destruction… It’s unpredictable. He has no idea what he’s unleashing.”
“And what about control?” the woman asked, clearly disturbed. “We can’t just let him run wild without understanding this ability.”
The researcher nodded. “It seems like it could be controlled, but there’s so much we don’t know about its full capacity. How does he know which things will turn into creatures? And how dangerous can they be?”
Meanwhile, inside the room, Izuku happily placed the paperweight back on a shelf, unaware of the concerns and discussions swirling just beyond the door.
“Well,” Hisashi muttered, staring at his son, “he’s… certainly unique.”
Inko sighed deeply. “We knew that from the start…”
At four years old, Izuku Midoriya was finally old enough to attend preschool . Most kids his age were focused on playing with toys, naptime, and finger painting. But Izuku?
Izuku was focused on feeding the thing inside him .
Sitting in the dirt during recess, he absentmindedly chewed on a piece of plastic from a broken toy. He didn't need to eat it—his mom told him not to eat weird things in public—but it helped him think. Something inside his stomach shifted , wriggling against his ribs like it was waking up.
Across the playground, a familiar voice cut through the air.
“Deku!”
Izuku barely had time to look up before Katsuki Bakugo stomped over, his usual scowl already in place. Even at four years old, Katsuki had a presence, his little gang of kids trailing behind him like a pack of puppies.
“Why’re you just sitting there like a weirdo ?” Katsuki huffed, hands shoved into his pockets.
Izuku blinked at him, then smiled. “I’m talking to someone.”
Katsuki frowned. “Who? There’s nobody here, dumbass.”
Izuku tapped his stomach. “ In here.”
Katsuki took a step back, squinting at him. “The hell does that mean?”
Before Izuku could answer, his stomach twisted , and suddenly—
Schlorp.
A slick, dark shape pushed its way up his throat. Izuku gagged, coughing as something solid forced its way out of his mouth. With a final wet squelch, it landed on the dirt between him and Katsuki.
The playground went dead silent .
The creature twitched, its small, slimy body glistening under the sun. It was no bigger than a soccer ball, its skin translucent and pulsing with shifting muscle underneath. Its tiny, spindly arms stretched, clawed fingers digging into the dirt.
And worst of all? It had no eyes .
Instead, its head split open , revealing a gaping maw filled with jagged, uneven teeth. It let out a strange chirping noise , sniffing the air.
The other kids screamed .
“ A MONSTER! ”
“ RUN! ”
Katsuki didn’t run. He stood there, stunned , staring at the thing Izuku had just vomited up .
Izuku wiped his mouth and beamed. “This is Chompy! ”
Katsuki’s eye twitched. “ Chompy? ”
The creature let out another wet gurgle, shifting its weight toward Katsuki. It could sense him.
Katsuki stepped back. “Oi. Call it off, Deku.”
Izuku tilted his head. “Why? He just wants to say hi!”
As if to prove his point, Chompy crawled closer to Katsuki, its mouth clacking as if tasting the air.
Katsuki’s palms crackled with tiny sparks. “I swear to god, if it touches me, I’m blowing it up.”
Izuku pouted. “That’s mean. He likes you!”
Katsuki growled. “I don’t care! Put it back!”
Izuku sighed, then knelt down and placed a hand on Chompy’s back. With a small grunt of effort—
Schlorp!
—Chompy melted into black sludge and slid back into Izuku’s stomach .
Katsuki gagged . “That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.”
Izuku giggled. “I think it’s cool!”
The teachers came running moments later, demanding an explanation. Kids were crying. The playground was in chaos.
Izuku hadn’t meant to do it.
Really.
After the whole "Chompy incident," his mom told him to be careful with his Quirk. She said, "Izuku, sweetie, maybe don’t throw up monsters in front of the other kids." His dad even made him promise not to make anything too scary .
And Izuku tried .
But sometimes… sometimes, the things inside him just wanted out .
It started when he and Katsuki were playing near the jungle gym. Katsuki had been showing off his explosions , making the other kids “ooh” and “aah” as he blasted the air. Izuku sat on the sidelines, watching, feeling the familiar, uncomfortable churning in his stomach.
Something was stirring inside him.
It wasn’t like last time.
Chompy had been tiny , slimy, and weird. But this thing… this thing felt different .
Bigger.
More solid .
Katsuki turned to him, still riding the high of showing off. “Oi, Deku! You got anything cooler than that dumb slime-ball from last time?”
Izuku blinked. “Uhh…”
Before he could stop himself—
Schlorp.
The air filled with a wet, sucking sound as something forced its way out of Izuku’s mouth . His whole body lurched , his arms bracing against the ground as a bulging shape stretched from his throat. The other kids screamed, but Izuku barely noticed—
Because suddenly, it was there .
It landed on all fours with a dull thud . Its body was long and sleek , like a massive hairless cat , but its skin was pale and waxy , stretched too tight over its ribs. Its head was broad and flat , like a frog’s, with a jaw that stretched too wide when it yawned.
It wasn’t as disgusting as Chompy.
But it was still wrong .
The creature shook itself , then turned toward Izuku, sniffing the air.
Izuku coughed, wiping his mouth. “Oh. Wow. ”
Katsuki was staring , his eye twitching. “What the hell is that ?!”
The creature twitched its long ears , then crawled toward Katsuki , moving with slow, deliberate steps.
The way its spindly limbs bent looked unnatural .
Katsuki jumped back . “Deku, get rid of it! ”
Izuku tilted his head. “Why? I think it’s kinda cute.”
The creature chirped , tilting its head to mimic Izuku.
Katsuki's palms crackled . “I swear if it touches me—”
Before he could finish, the creature suddenly lunged , its mouth stretching wide—
Katsuki blasted it back , his explosion knocking it into the dirt.
For a second, everyone froze .
Then, the creature slowly got back up , its head snapping toward Katsuki.
It wasn’t hurt.
It wasn’t mad.
If anything… it looked excited .
Izuku grinned. “Oh! It likes your explosions!”
Katsuki let out a frustrated yell . “I hate your Quirk!”
The teachers ran over before things got worse, but Izuku just giggled as he placed a hand on the creature’s back. In an instant—
Schlorp.
It melted into black sludge and slid back into him .
Izuku let out a happy sigh, patting his stomach.
Katsuki pointed an accusing finger at him. “You’re disgusting .”
