It was a clear sunny morning in Mustafu Jen had biked over to her grandpa Max's RV the Rustbucket to show him a medel she won at her soccer match, once she pulled up to the Rustbucket she knocked on the door but got no response, "well that's weird he said he'd be home" Jen daid to herself as she tried the door finding it was left unlocked as Jen entered the RV she found the place empty with nothing out of the ordinary, "maybe he just needed to pop out somewhere and forgot to lock the door", as Jen looked around the RV she noticed a large shadow looming over her as she turned she saw red drone like robot floating in the middle of the room, before Jen had any time to question what this thing was the drone charged at her causing her to duck under it's attack, out of habbit Jen reached for her left wrist before remembering she took the Omnitrix off so she could live without being hunted by power hungry villains, what good that plan was doing her now, thinking quickly Jen grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed it on the drone hopping to mess with however it saw things before hitting it over the head repeatedly until it was a pile of scap on the rustbucket floor
As Jen stood there adrenaline still pumping she nearly jumped a foot in the air as her Grandpa Max came through the door, "care to explain the mess on my floor" Max sighed he had only gone out for a minute
"a drone was searching through your stuff, likely alien by the look of it" Jen explained after her summer with the Omnitrix she was well experienced with what alien tech looked like, despite how weird Earth was these days space was just always on another level, "it looked like it was looking for something"
Max sighed he knew this peace in Jen's life wouldn't last "I think we both know what it was searching for", Jen nodded, the Omnitrix was a powerful device that could let the wearer change into different alien life forms,
Jen suddenly realised if a drone was searching here then there was no doubt they'd search her own home where the Omnitrix actually was and more importantly where her family was, "great seeing you Grandpa but I gotta go!" Jen yelled out as she rushed out the door
Max watched as she biked over the horizon Jen always acted like a hero even when she was younger that's why it surprised him so much she didn't try out for the Hero course at her school like her cousin Gwen did
Jen frantically rushed into her house seeing everything looked untouched calmed her down a bit, she went searching in her room looking in the back of her closet, "Come on, come on where are you" Jen pulled out a shoe box from in the back, opening it revealed several keepsakes from when she was a kid but most importantly there was a grey-black wrist watch with a green hourglass dail, The Omnitrix it was still safe but for how long Jen thought to herself, just then Jen heard a large crash from outside her window, looking outside Jen saw a massive rust red Robot similar to the one she faced when she first found the Omnitrix, there was no doubt why that robot was there, all the damage it was causing was in search of the watch currently in her hands, "there's no time for second thoughts, its now or never" Jen said to herself as she put the Omnitrix back on after so long its weight feeling familiar,
Jen rushed out her door and into the street the robot was currently terrorising, civilians were running in the opposite direction screaming Jen turned the dial on her watch, "It's hero time!" She yelled as she slammed down on the watch, only to be met with nothing but a small electronic beep, as Jen looked up at the towering bot she felt like maybe she rushed into this too fast but as the robot approached a young girl on the other side of the street Jen knew she had to act, she had to do something, anything so she grabbed a piece of rubble from the street and threw it as hard as she could at the robot's head, the bot slowly turned to face Jen she took a deep breath and held her left arm up in the air so the Omnitrix was fully visible, "hey bolts for brains I got what your looking for right here come and get it!" The robot started walking towards Jen slowly at first but it was building up speed, Jen wasted no time running off as fast as she could trying to lead the robot that was hot on her tail away from people, as she ran she tried to get the Omnitrix to work suddenly after she messed with it enough the whole watch began to glow green as it began changing its shape, once it was done it had reformed into a much sleeker green and black form
"all right, about time" Jen moved the dial and a green hologram of a familiar alien appeared, "time to turn up the heat on this tin can" Jen smiled as she stopped running and faced the robot
"DETROIT SMASH!!" Jen saw the once menacing robot was reduced to a pile of scrap, now standing in the robot's place was a person Jen never thought she'd meet a true living legend, the symbol of peace All Might the number one hero, he was a mountain of a man with bright blonde hair and a massive smile on his face, "have no fear young lady, this mechanical menace has been dealt with, I saw what you did back there, it was truly heroic but please leave some heroism for the pros in the future" he laughed heartily
Jen stood there dumbfounded the world's greatest hero was standing there joking around as if he didn't just trash a robot in one punch, "yeah I'll be sure to do that, thanks for the save"
All might noticed she was dressed in the UA general studies uniform "It's good to see all students at UA act heroically, you made your school proud today, speaking of which im late" All might laughed before he left with a powerful jump
"so cool, wait late for what isn't he a teacher at UA, oh crap," Jen thought to herself in a panic as she realised she was also late for school and began running towards UA
Jen made it to class with seconds to spare breathing heavily she sat down at her desk, "took you long enough, you get lost or something?" a monotone voice asked from behind her, Jen turned around to see her classmate Hitoshi Shinso, Jen and him never got along mainly do to there personalities clashing and the fact that on paper Jen had a powerful quirk, that being the Omnitrix she had its abilities put down as her quirk when she was 10 saying she was just a late bloomer when in reality she was quirkless, "seriously you have a heroic quirk but you didn't even try for the hero course it pisses me off"
Jen sighed used to this by now, "Being a hero takes more than just power, I just don't think I have what it takes, I've told you before" She remembered back to when she was 11 years old and her encounter with Malware after that fight Jen gave up her dream of becoming a hero and got the Omnitrix removed but here she was wearing it again
After class Jen was heading towards the cafeteria when she saw one of the hero course classes heading to the front door in their hero costumes, among the crowd of students was a familiar orange-haired girl her cousin Gwen she was wearing a black body suit with blue accents her hero costume came with blue sash around her waist and a cat mask, Gwen noticed her walking down the hallway and waved over to her cousin before running up to her, "Jen how have you been, we barely see each other nowadays" Gwen laughed but stopped as she noticed the Omnitrix on Jen's wrist, "why'd you put that back on, don't you remember how much trouble it was to get it off?"
Jen's hand brushed against the watch that she used to love, "there were some incidents this morning, I'll go into detail some other time but it's clear that it's become a target again" Jen looked down at her wrist, "the safest place for it is with me"
Gwen looked apprehensively at her cousin, Jen had been a bit different in years following the removal of the Omnitrix but what she was saying now felt like nothing ever happened, "heh always ready to play hero, just be careful" she laughed as she turned to go back to her classmates that where getting on a bus, "and remember I'm the one in the hero course not you, so leave some heroism for me"
Jen was sitting in class barely keeping her eyes open as the teacher lectured, just as her eyes were about to close Jen felt a massive pain in her head "HELP...USJ...UNDER ATTACK...HELP!" Gwen's voice called out to her
"ugh I hate it when she does that, wait under attack" Jen knew that Gwen wouldn't be calling out to her if she wasn't in serious danger, Jen waisted no time she ran out of class down the hallways and out the main door, Jen made her selection on the Omnitrix and slammed down on the face plate, a familiar green light enveloped her body as she transformed into a red manta ray-like alien "Jetray" she yelled out before flying off at great speed in the direction of the USJ, this form wasn't familiar to Jen but it could fly and more importantly it was damn fast she could figure out whatever else it was capable of later
It wasnt long until the facility was in view Jen flew straight into the glass dome of the building smashing straight through it, the facility was especially designed for rescue training and so it had several areas with different terrain but right now it looked like a battlefield, there was villains at every corner she could see in the main pavilion area was a massive creature with pitch black skin and exposed brain and a bird like beak, the creature was beating up Gwen's home room teacher Jen recognised him from passing in the halls he had long black hair and wore a simple jumpsuit and had a mess of tangled scarf around his neck, "obviously the big bad, i'm gonna need someone strong" Jen slammed her hand onto the Omnitrix on her chest a trick she picked up a little while ago to swap between transformations, the green light enveloped jen as she dropped down in front of the monster, as the light subsided it revealed a large muscular red alien with four arms and eyes, "hey teach you need a hand, or four" Jen laughed as she ran up to the beast and hit him with both her right arms, but the beast just stood there unbothered looking at the new arival
"Who the hell is this chick!?" Yelled a raspy voice, a blue-haired man with many hands hanging off his body, "This is clearly cheating but it won't matter Nomu here was built to kill all might, so whatever you can throw at him he'll absorb like a punching bag" the man laughed as the beast got up from pummeling the teacher and stood at his full height he stood taller than even Four Arms
Jen struck first hitting him with punch after punch not holding anything back but it was no use the beast just stood there and took it before pulling his arm back and delivering a gut punch on the red alien sending her flying back into a staircase, Jen just smiled as she got up, "not the brightest are you bird brain, maybe keep an eye on all your opponents" in her lower set of arms was the bloody body of the teacher
"thanks" the teacher managed to get out barely holding onto consciousness, before Jen could respond Nomu began running towards them gearing up for another punch but before it could connect a pink barrier formed between them Jen turned around to see Gwen using her quirk behind her she was clearly struggling to keep the barrier up against the creatures attacks
"you absolute doofus, I sent that message out so you'd bring us some backup not so you could be the backup!" Gwen yelled at her cousin between the stain
Jen just rolled her eyes, "Well I um...yeah that makes a lot more sense in hindsight, this guy is tough but there's no way he's invincible take your teacher and put down the barrier"
"Are you insane, this guy is meant to kill All Might there's no way you can beat him" Gwen tried reasoning with her but Jen just stood up and placed the teacher down beside her cousin and faced the beast still pounding at the barrier
"Have you forgotten, we've faced worse than this and came out on top, so be the hero and get that man to safety while I buy you some time!" Jen exclaimed as she slammed her top firsts into her palms, Gwen nodded as she let down the Barrier and took her teacher, Jen couldn't let the creature take a chance to attack so she immediately began hitting it with a barrage of punches each one at her full power, but still the monster kept taking them like it was nothing while hitting Jen just as hard if not harder, Jen coughed up blood as she tried to catch her breath, just then the monster was encased in ice, then followed by a young blonde boy flying through the air landing on the monster's shoulders and letting off a massive explosion from his hands
"just die already!" The blonde boy yelled as he jumped back to be behind Jen who was then joined by another young boy with half-white and half-red hair who was clearly the one who froze the monster in place, "who the hell are you red freak!" the blonde boy yelled at Jen
"I'm the only backup you guys have right now so either get out of my way or help me take this thing down" Jen answered the two boys nodded it looked like they had powerful quirks, it was gonna take everything they had to take in this enemy, the smoke front the explosion subsided the group saw that the monsters arms had shattered off in the explosion, Jen smile fadded as the monster broke out of the ice and its arms began to reform, the two boys immediately jumped into action the monster was frozen in place followed by a massive explosion over and over again as Jen continued her barrage of full force attack, the amount of time the monster stayed frozen lessened more and more each time they repeated the cycle until it broke out as soon as it was frozen over grabbed and before any of them could react it grabbed the explosion boy mid air and threw him accross the central area, it then hit Jen with a gut punch knocking the wind out of her followed by slamming her down to the ground and continuously pummelling her
Jen knew she couldn't stay like this for long, she used her top arms to sheild herself from the oncoming attacks before she reached for the Omnitrix on her belt, as she slammed it down the green light enveloped her followed by a raging tornado of fire sending Nomu flying off her his skin burnt to a crisp only to be fully healed as he stood up and faced Jen's new form, "lets see if you can handle the heat" Jen's now raspy voice laughed as the fire subsided revealing her new flaming rock body, She launched herself forward with her flames picking up speed hitting Nomu with a firey punch to the head followed by a flame thrower to the face, the monsters burns kept healing but Jen didn't let up hitting him with the hottest fire she could muster while dodging the monster's attacks left and right but unfortunately she wasn't fast enough the monster hit her with a swing of its arm sending her flying into the centre fountain, Jen coughed up water as she tried getting to her feet but the pain was finally getting to her maybe it was the water weakening her or maybe she just reached her limit but when the beast stood over her she could feel her self drifting from consciousness,
the last thing Jen heard before she shut her eyes was the familiar tone of the Omnitrix timing out followed by a red flash but then she heard a familiar voice "HAVE NO FEAR STUDENTS, I AM HERE!" It was All Might and he sounded angry, Jen lost consciousness as Nomu picked her up by her blazer, Jen thought she was imagining things but the beast looked like its breathing was more laboured than before maybe she made a difference after all
When Jen awoke she was in the UA infirmary, there was another student in there with her a green-haired boy who had casts on both his legs and one of his arms, the boy noticed her waking up, "You were those monsters that held off Nomu right?" The boy asked
"yeah I guess I just caused trouble for everyone huh" Jen laughed a bit but stopped when it began to hurt
the boy shook his head, "Absolutely not you saved the life of Mr Izawa and held that monster at bay until All might arrived, what you did was incredible!" He laughed excitedly
"And extremely illleagel," a stern voice said as the dark-haired teacher entered the room followed by the mouse-like principal Nezu, the man looked at the bandaged-up girl and let out a sigh, "Jennifer Tennyson what you did at the USJ was an act of vigilantism and should be grounds for expulsion" Jen's heart started to race
Nezu climbed up onto her hospital bed, "however we are willing to look past this small detail on one condition, we'd like you to transfer over to the hero course"
Aizawa sighed "You showed promise out there kid, but you were sloppy, since we don't want to turn one of our students over for vigilantism we've decided to transfer you over to class 1-A effective immediately to any authorities you would have been there on the field trip"
Jen couldn't believe what she was hearing, "but why are you doing this for me?"
"To put it bluntly it's because you're sitting in that bed instead of me, a child not even a kid on the hero course saved my life and was injured because I couldn't handle the situation, in short, it's an act of gratitude don't blow it from this point on your just like any student in my class" Aizawa looked guilty as he looked at Jen's bandaged up body, Recovery Girl had told him that it was nothing serious but it didn't help his guilt, "also your severely behind the rest of your peers, here is all your makeup work I expect it to be finished by the end of the next week" he left her a booklet filled with work on the bedside table before leaving with Nezu
Jen was still trying to process everything that just happened, she was in the hero course at UA just like she dreamed of when she was a little girl, "hey I guess that makes us classmates now, I'm Izuku Midoriya, I can't wait to see what all you can do" The green haired boy smiled
Jen laughed as she looked down at the Omnitrix and then up to Izuku, "Jen Tennyson and if you think me getting my ass handed to me is impressive you'll be blown away by what I'm like when I'm actually winning"
