Work Text:
Like every morning, the boys were seated in a booth at the diner, and while Emmett and Ted enjoyed their breakfast, Michael couldn't ignore the empty seat next to him because his best friend wasn't sitting there. Michael couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling because no matter how late Brian came home after fucking his brains out all night, he always got up early and was usually the first one to the diner. But not today. Today he was fashionably late. Actually, very late. Which was normally nothing special, but never in the morning. Brian always started the day productively. He would never just sleep in.
And of course, it wouldn't be Michael if he didn't worry about his best friend's whereabouts and call him numerous times.
"This is unbelievable," Michael sighed in frustration and put the phone down on the table.
"I'm sure he's fine, Michael," Ted assured him.
"Yeah, he's probably just sleeping off his latest trick." Emmett laughed.
"I'm not so sure about that. He wasn't at Babylon last night," Michael said worriedly.
"He wasn't? Huh. I didn't even notice... well, I was a little busy." Emmett smiled dreamily.
Ted rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to Michael. "It's just Brian being Brian, doing whatever the hell he wants. You know how he is."
"Exactly! I've known him since he was 14 and this just isn't like him. He always answers my phone. And last night we were supposed to meet at his place, but guess what? He canceled on me... and he told me that something..."
"Came up," Ted and Emmett finished for him.
"See? Like I said... it's just Brian being Brian." Ted smiled.
Michael sighed, "Yeah, I guess so. But what if something happened to him? It's one thing to cancel our plans, but the fact that he didn't even show up at Babylon? That's a big red flag. He's always there. Like fucking always. And why doesn't he just pick up his goddamn phone?"
Ted nodded, acknowledging that it sounded a bit odd. "You know what? If he doesn't show up for breakfast, we'll go to his place and I'm sure he'll be there safe and sound. And then you'll be able to start breathing again. How does that sound?"
"Okay," Michael smiled, but his smile immediately faded when he heard the door jingle. "Christ, just what I needed."
Emmett and Ted turned to get a better view of the door, and immediately spotted the twink's blond head.
"Christ. That kid looks like he's high on sugar," Ted remarked. "He looks too happy, doesn't he?"
"He looks ecstatic." Emmett giggled. "Whatever he's on, I want it too."
Suddenly the door opened again and this time Brian walked in, looking as stunning as ever and perhaps a little too cheerful as well.
"Well, I guess now we know what Brian was doing all night," Emmett chuckled to himself.
"Yeah, and why Justin looks so damn happy." Ted added.
They both turned to look at Michael, who was fuming and red with envy.
"He spends fucking too much time with that kid." He complained. "It's like we don't even exist anymore."
"Yeah, it's like they're a little glued to each other," Emmett stated. "It's kinda cute, actually."
"Cute? What the hell is so cute about it?" Michael crossed his arms over his chest, waiting impatiently for an explanation.
"Well, I've never seen Brian like this before."
"Like what?"
"In love." Emmett responded like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"What?" Michael raised his voice. "He's not in love with him. He's just fucking him."
"It's Brian we're talking about. He can fuck whoever he pleases, hell, he could fuck the President if he wanted to, yet somehow he always ends up fucking that twink. Do you really think it's just because he likes his cute bubble butt?" He raised an eyebrow at him. "He's falling in love. I mean look at the way he looks at him when Justin isn't paying attention."
"That's some bullshit." Michael barked.
"Well, I kind of have to agree with Emmett," Ted said. "He really does look happy when he's with him."
Michael let out a grunt of disapproval. "Hell will freeze over before Brian falls in love with that kid."
Emmett and Ted exchanged knowing glances and realized they had better drop the subject. And Brian joined them a moment later.
"Hello, boys. What a lovely morning, isn't it?" He smiled at them and took a seat next to Michael.
All three of them just stared at him, Emmett and Ted looking amused, while Michael threw daggers at him.
Brian furrowed his brows in a slightly pissed off way. "Why the fuck are you looking at me like that?"
Michael shifted in his seat. "I called you. Several times. You didn't answer." He told him, struggling to suppress his anger.
"You did?" Brian fished his phone out of his pocket. "Shit. Sorry. Guess I didn't hear."
Michael certainly didn't look convinced. "And you didn't show up at Babylon last night. Something came up?"
"Um, yeah, you could say that." Brian replied without looking at him. "Hey, busboy! Do you think I could get some water?" He shouted to Justin.
And Justin immediately came running like a good boy with a big smile on his face. "It's really cold." He told him as he started pouring into his glass.
"Good," Brian replied. "I'm thirsty." He licked his lips slowly, eyeing Justin up and down.
"Looks like someone had a fun night." Emmett commented, noticing the hickeys on Justin's neck.
"Um," Justin turned a little red and glanced at Brian, who immediately pretended not to be looking at him at all. "Yeah, it was fun. The guy made me cum really hard. I think I won't be able to sit down for a week."
"You don't say," Ted chuckled, looking at Brian, who was now reading the newspaper, trying to look like he wasn't even there. "Lucky you."
"Yeah." Justin blushed. "What about you? How was your night?" He asked them in return.
"Oh my god, I'm so glad you asked because I had the best fuck last night. He came on my face and his cum tasted so sweet and then he sucked me so hard I had tears in my eyes. It was just wonderful." Emmett smiled excitedly.
"Wow." Justin chuckled. "That sounds amazing. What about you, Ted?"
"I was turned down by everyone." Ted raised his glass of juice and took a sip.
"Oh." Justin giggled. "And you, Michael? How was your night?"
"Clearly not as exciting as yours," Michael snorted. "What about you, Brian? Did you do anything interesting last night? Or someone interesting?" He asked, almost gritting his teeth.
Brian cleared his throat. "I just exercised and went to bed early."
Justin laughed out loud, earning a death stare from Brian. "Um, I should... I should probably get back to work," he told them and quietly walked away.
"What was that about?" Michael raised an eyebrow, staring at Brian.
"How the fuck should I know what's happening in his head?" Brian snapped. "So what's on the menu? I'm fucking hungry."
"I bet you are." Emmett chuckled. "That must have been some exercise."
"So many calories burned." Ted added with a laugh.
Brian immediately shot them an annoyed look, but chose to ignore it. And Michael could only roll his eyes with a heavy sigh.
