Seulgi watched Jaeyi turn to skate away. She gripped the textbook close to her chest feeling conflicted, but figured she will process everything later on. Right now, she should get home and rest. She winced feeling the headache coming back. She opened her hand looking at the baggie she was holding and figured she should take a few to adjust. God knows what the hell Jaeyi gave her and how she’s going to react. Might as well start feeling the effects and after effects now.
She put the textbook under her arm and used her free hand to tear open one of the boxes inside the bag. ‘Really? A menstrual pad.’ She tore it open and saw how the pills were tucked neatly inside the pad. Well she has to give it to her, this is pretty clever. So Jaeyi. She took some of the pills and swallowed it straight down. She put everything away and started to walk towards her home when she heard the rough sound of wheels scraping against the pavement.
She turned and saw Jaeyi coming full speed towards her on her skateboard. She closed her eyes and leaned back a little embracing for impact.
Jaeyi who had no intention of knocking her over, but instead show of her skills, she smoothly stopped the board right in front Seulgi. She smirked cockily, but instantly started frowning in concern as Seulgi leaning her body back tripped on her feet backwards.
“Seulgi!”
Jaeyi hopped of the skateboard and reached forward trying to reach Seulgi, but it was too late and both went hurdling towards the pavement. Jaeyi instinctively maneuvered her body behind Seulgi to absorb most of the impact. She grunted loudly in pain as her back and arms pounded against the ground, Seulgi’s weight making it worse as she fell on top of her.
Seulgi groaned and try to dislodge from the tangled mess of being sprawled on top of Jaeyi. ‘Oh my God, she was on top of Jaeyi’ Seulgi very aware of all the places she was physically touching her scrambled up in panic ignoring the pain in her palm.
“Oww!” Jaeyi yelped feeling Seulgi pushing down against her so roughly her body kept scraping the floor irritating the bruises she was sure she was sporting. Jaeyi tried to sit up.
“Calm down.” Jaeyi said grabbing one of Seulgi hands, they both winced in pain as their injured palms met, the warmth of Jaeyi’s skin against her mingling with the slickness of fresh blood. A distinct metallic scent of blood filled the air. Jaeyi despite the pain, did not let go of her hand just in case she went frantic again trying to stand up. She used her other hand to push herself up from the floor and used her body and the hand holding Seulgi to help lift her up.
Seulgi felt her ears and face burn at the impressive display of strength and how once again she was pressed up against Jaeyi. ‘She’s so tall.’ She thought as her face was pressed against Jaeyi chest. “Oh god!” she internally screamed.
Jaeyi tilted her head as she looked down at Seulgi who would not look up at her and felt her heart flutter at the pink tinge she can spot from her ears running down to her cheeks. ‘Is she blushing?’
Seulgi finally trying to clear her mind pushed back from Jaeyi and glared up at her.
Jaeyi smirked.
Seulgi raised an annoyed brow. “Can you let go of my hand?’
Jaeyi stepped closer. “Just making sure you’re steady and won’t fall again.”
Seulgi scoffed. “Really? Of course, lets blame me instead of the person skating full speed towards me.”
Jaeyi just grinned and released the hand she was holding, but no before smoothly grabbing it with her other hand and turning it over gently to check her palm. She examined the shallow gash and blood regretfully. “I’m sorry.” She mumbled. “I didn’t think you would fall and get hurt.”
Seulgi not sure what to do with the sincere apology and regretful face of Jaeyi just shrugged reassuringly. "Its okay, you did take most of the fall and you hurt you hand too.”
Jaeyi so busy with Seulgi glanced at her hand and didn’t even realize the she also had a gash across her palm, mirroring Seulgi’s. “Oh! Sorry, I got my blood on you.”
Seulgi just waved it off with her free hand and gently pried her hand away from Jaeyi. “I have to go.”
Jaeyi nodded and tried to offer to help clean her cut, but Seulgi declined.
“I have to go.” She repeated. “Ill take care of it at home. You should go home as well, its late and you have to get that wound cleaned up as well.”
Jaeyi just softly smiled and nodded. “Goodnight Seulgi.”
Seulgi nodded and began to leave, this time Jaeyi didn’t move being the one to watch her walk away. Once Seulgi was just a tiny speck in the distance she grabbed her skateboard setting it down and skating away. A small smile tugging at her lips.
Both unknowingly left not knowing how an act of kindness and touch would change the course of their lives.

It has been almost 2 weeks and Seulgi has not been feeling well. She was exhausted. At first, she thought maybe it was all the stress with the exams, or maybe Jaeyi who she felt was slowly driving her insane. Or just maybe she was coming down with a cold, but the symptoms would not change. “Fuck.” She thought feeling the nausea happening again. She knew any moment she was going to start vomiting again.
Meanwhile Jaeyi was trying to drown out all the insistent chatter around her as she focused on Seulgi with concern. From here she can see the glistening of sweat on the side of Seulgi face and how much tension she was putting on her shoulders.
A loud noise cut through the classroom as a chair scraped back harshly. The class quieted down immediately and watched as Seulgi bolted out the classroom.
Jaeyi eyes followed Seulgi out the door and immediately stood up. “I’ll go check on her.” Jaeyi muttered out in the direction of the teacher and went off after Seulgi, not at all concerned with what the teacher response was or what the classroom must have thought seeing the unflappable Jaeyi practically run out of the classroom.
Jaeyi rushed into the restroom and saw one of the stall doors wide open. She walked towards the stall and immediately crouched down on the floor behind Seulgi who was vomiting.
Seulgi stiffened at the weight of a hand rubbing her back gently. But felt her body just as quickly relax somehow knowing right away without lifting her head from the toilet who it belonged to.
“Jaeyi.”
Jaeyi frowned getting closer. “I’m right here, are you sick? What’s wrong?”
Seulgi just groaned. “I don’t know. I been like this for days. I thought it was a cold. But, I just keep feeling nausea and vomiting.”
Seulgi reached to the side to get toilet paper to wipe her mouth. She threw the toilet paper in the toilet and flushed. She sighed tiredly and turned her body away from the toilet to just sit and lean against it. Jaeyi moved back a little to give her more room to sit comfortably.
Seulgi looked at Jaeyi. “Thinking about it, this started after- “Seulgi leaned a bit closer to Jaeyi and whispered. “- you gave me the drugs. You said it was stronger. What the hell did you give me?”
Jaeyi shook her head knowing damn well it wasn’t the “drugs”. “Trust me, that’s not what’s causing this.”
Seulgi scoffed. “Trust you? Right.” She pulled herself away from Jaeyi and rushed to stand and put space between them in this tiny space that was started to feel suffocating.
Jaeyi tried to stand as well and immediately grabbed Seulgi’s waist who looked a second away from fainting.
Seulgi tried to pull away from Jaeyi and almost fell. “Let me go, I don’t need your help.”
Jaeyi raised an eyebrow unamused feeling how unsteady Seulgi was. She can literally feel her trying to hold herself up. Jaeyi’s gripped tightened making sure she didn’t somehow slip straight to the ground on her unsteady legs “Really, you look like your going to faint any second. You almost fell!”
Jaeyi sighed and one handed unbuttoned her jacket button and reached for the handkerchief she kept tucked in her inner pocket. She shook it and tenderly dabbed Seulgi’s face wiping all the sweat from her face.
Seulgi stood stock still and watched her movements.
Jaeyi continued attentively wiping every spot. “There, all done.” She said satisfied. She looked directly into Seulgi eyes and her features automatically softened. “Just let me help you.”
Seulgi gulped nervously at the intensity but softness of her eyes. Despite the doubts and distrust, she just knows there is some honesty in her words and actions. “Then can you just be honest with me now? What is that you really want from me? Why do you have all that information?”
Jaeyi nodded in resignation. “Okay, I’ll tell you. But, not here. And before I tell you anything. You won’t have to wait until you beat me in the exams, but you will let me take you to a doctor first. And I’ll tell you everything and anything you want to know after you see the doctor. Deal?”
Seulgi agreed. What did she have to lose? And anyways, she should really see a doctor about this. “Deal, but I don’t want to go to your dad’s hospital. Do you know of a clinic around?”
Jaeyi smiled satisfied understanding Seulgi would feel better somewhere small, discrete. “Yes, I do, I know a doctor. You won’t have to worry about anything with her. Lets go!”
“Wait, you mean go now?”
“Of course.” Jaeyi said letting go of her waist carefully to loop their arms securely. “Don’t worry about class. I’ll take care of it.”
Jaeyi and Seulgi walked out of the bathroom towards the classroom. Right before they reached the classroom door, Jaeyi stopped them and made sure to gently guide and lean Seulgi next to the classroom door wall. She took one of Seulgi hands and laid it on the panel. “You start feeling faint, just grip the panel. Ill be right out. Just give me 3 minutes.”
Jaeyi gave Seulgi a quick smile and walked right into the classroom straight to her desk. She grabbed her stuff and all but shoved everything in her bookbag.
The class just observed in shock at the carelessness in which she packed her stuff.
Jaeyi closed her bookbag and walked over to Seulgi’s desk. She carefully grabbed the yellow pouch and collected all her supplies and put it in neatly. Closing the zipper gently. She then moved on to her papers and books neatly stacking them and organizing into Seulgi’s bookbag. Once done, she smiled satisfied and lifted Seulgi’s backpack up her shoulder. While hers was practically danglingly, the zipper not even closed properly.
She looked up and walked over to the teacher who was just observing her. Jaeyi plastered on a smile. “Apologies, but Seulgi and I need to be excused. It’s an emergency, I’ll be sure to inform the headmaster for our excuse. Thank you.” With that said she once again did not wait for a response from the teacher before bolting out of the class once again. Seulgi waited long enough she thought.
The class all glanced around to each other trying to make sense of what they just witnessed. You did not need to be telepathic to know there was one thought running through everyone’s mind. ‘What the fuck?’

Jaeyi securely looped their arms again, ignoring Seulgi’s protest of carrying her backpack. She just smiled and walked with her right out the school. Not one person stopped them. And anyone who looked like they were about to say something, took one look at Jaeyi and just walked the other way.
Seulgi was flabbergasted at the power Jaeyi held.
Jaeyi waved at her driver who was parked up front waiting for her.
Seulgi not recalling seeing Jaeyi make a phone call looked up at Jaeyi. “Was he there the whole time?”
Jaeyi nodded. “Yes, unless I tell him otherwise he just waits until I am done with school.”
Seulgi just blinked.
Jaeyi chuckled. “Come on, let’s go.” She quickly thanked her driver as he opened the car door waiting for them to go in. Jaeyi helped Seulgi inside who was moving even slower trying to make eye contact with the driver to thank him. Jaeyi laughed at Seulgi’s over politeness, she could see how her body was trying to do a little bow of appreciation. ‘How cute’ she thought.
Once everyone was inside seated she told her driver where to go. She quickly shot a text to the doctor at a small discreet clinic she had connections too, informing her of Seulgi’s symptoms and how she was on her way there now. She looked over at Seulgi who was busy looking out the window observing everything.
She sighed in contentment. She felt… happy, she liked having Seulgi by her side, talking to her again. Even if it was mostly arguing. But, talking is talking. She hoped it stayed that way. Seulgi likes honesty, she will make sure to try to tell her everything so she can trust her.
Jaeyi’s phone beeped with a text message. She read the text from the doctor and frowned. She glanced at Seulgi worriedly and shrugged off her thoughts. She sent a quick response back to the doctor. ‘That’s not it. It has to be something else’ She thought.
The car suddenly pulled to a smooth stop. “We are here.” The driver said.
Jaeyi and Seulgi stepped out of the car. “Go take a break, I’ll call you when I’m done.” The driver thanked her and drove off. Jaeyi waited until the car was gone and held on to Seulgi. “Come, clinic is around the back.”
They walked towards the back of a tall building and entered a door that took them into a lobby. Jaeyi walked with Seulgi up to the elevator and waited.
*Ding*
They walked inside and Jaeyi pressed the button to the third floor.
Seulgi took it all in curiously. “This clinic seems very discreet. Would have never thought there was one here.”
Jaeyi smiled, “Figured you appreciate somewhere with discretion. I promise she is very discreet, and all will be confidential.”
*Ding*
The doors opened and a doctor was standing right in front of door clearly expecting them.
“Jaeyi!”
Jaeyi smiled and hugged the doctor. “Nice to see you.”
The doctor smiled and turned to greet Seulgi.
“And you must be Seulgi. I am Dr. Park Jungwon”
Seulgi smiled feeling herself relax at the kind smile of the doctor. “Nice to meet you.”
The doctor smiled back. “Jaeyi here told me of the symptoms you have been experiencing for about 2 weeks now. Nausea, vomiting, and exhaustion?”
Seulgi nodded. “Yes.”
The doctor nodded. “Alright this way please, I have a room ready for you.”
Seulgi went to follow the doctor and noticed Jaeyi’s hesitance in following her.
Seulgi grabbed her hand and tugged for her to follow.
The doctor gestured towards the room and pointed towards the restroom in the corner. “Before we check for anything. I want to do one test first. If you go inside to the restroom I set it atop the sink counter. It’s very easy just a small amount of urine in the tip is enough. I’ll be back in a few minutes to check on you and after the test results will go from there”
Seulgi thanked her.
She walked towards the restroom to the counter and immediately walked right back out waving aggressively the test still in its wrapper to Jaeyi’s face. “A pregnancy test!?” She shouted.
Jaeyi winced. But, she can’t lie, she felt relief seeing by Seulgi’s face and reaction how clearly that wasn’t a possibility. “I told her that’s not it. But due to the symptoms she has to still have you take it. Just pee on it, once it comes back negative we can see what’s really going on.”
Seulgi glared at Jaeyi like this was somehow her fault and turn annoyed towards the restroom slamming the door.
Not more than 4 minutes passed before Seulgi came out of the restroom with the pregnancy test in her hand. She walked towards Jaeyi and sat on the couch with her.
“This is so stupid. What a waste of time.”
Jaeyi smirked. “No boyfriend huh?”
Seulgi rolled her eyes. “No.”
Jaeyi grinned scooting closer. “So there’s no one?”
Seulgi raised an eyebrow at Jaeyi. “Don’t you know everything about me?”
Jaeyi laughed. “Well apparently not everything from what I recall you telling me a few weeks ago.”
Seulgi subtly smiled and turned her head away from Jaeyi. “No Jaeyi, there’s no one.” She added after a few more seconds. “There’s never been anyone for your information since you’re apparently so curious.”
Jaeyi looked down, her lips tugging in satisfaction. “Yet.” She internally muttered.
But apparently not low enough since Seulgi turned her head so fast towards her. “What?”
Jaeyi for the first time experienced panic, she had no intention of Seulgi hearing that. She sat up straighter in the couch and pointed towards the pregnancy test. “Oh look, one line, there you go negative.”
Seulgi looked down at the test and her heart dropped. Her hands started shaking. “Jaeyi.”
Jaeyi can hear the panic in her voice. “Hey, what’s wrong Seulgi?” She noticed Seulgi hand shaking so bad the pregnancy test was about to fall. “Hey Seulgi, talk to me, what’s wrong your scaring me?”
Seulgi all but shoved the test in Jaeyi hand. “Please tell me that’s not a second line that just popped up.”
Jaeyi took a closer look and froze.
2 bright pink lines were displayed.
Seulgi was pregnant.
