Work Text:
We’re solemn as we stand, all of us in a row, watching as the box is lowered into the ground. It is a funeral, after all, and a little gravitas is warranted.
Bailey raises his head and begins to speak.
“You were a dear friend, a companion to me and Alesia, we didn’t expect to be here. We’re going to hold onto the knowledge that your life was full of fun. You loved to splash in the water.”
Alesia picked up, “Terrance, we miss you.”
Nick and I held hands, loving how respectful our children are to their pet terrapin.
