Chapter 1: The Lion dwell in Sand

Chapter Text

“….Lan Tian!…”

“..Tian!!..”
“……”
“TIAN!!!”

GASP
“Hahh…hahh…” He sighed.
It had been days he got the same dream.. The same name he calls, or screamed, felt like someone he had known for years but in reality he never knew about her.
He got up from his bed as he looked the time at his hanged clock.

He is late.

“Shoot..my father gonna kill me..-“ He thought to himself. He hurried himself out  from his house and kept on running nonstop across the village. The puddles he splashed, some rocks he almost stumbled on, he still kept on running. However when he arrived, nobody screamed or mad at him for being late. They all just kept on doing their work without noticing him. Not until-

“JIAMING! WHY IN TEYVAT ARE YOU LATE??!” A man shouts with an irritated voice.

Sigh….the only man, his father, the “boss”, that he does not want to deal with, shouted at him early in the morning.

“I-..I’m sorry fath..- boss! I promised I’ll be early tomorrow! Haha..” Gaming replied. with an awkward laugh.

    “….”

The conversation between them became silent.

“…I guess I’ll start my work then..” Gaming slowly slipping away from his father.

    “Wait.”

Gaming was stunned on what his father just said. His tone was able to turned Gaming’s face paled…“What does he want now?? Is it not enough for you to embarrass me this morning??” He debates to himself but can only smiled on his father request.

“Ye..yes fa- boss?” He stuttered again.

“Come follow me for a sec.” Gaming’s father, Mr. Yip Tak, gestured toward himself.

    “Oook, boss..” Gaming was confused.

Mr. Yip Tak brought Gaming in a rather familiar building. The inside was fulled with past ancestors photos, artifacts and many articles of their successful tea business. From one family ancestors to another’s, and another… and eventually to his family.
Gaming already knew on what heads up.

“Jiaming… I wanted to talk about-.”

“How many time have I told you that I don’t want to continue running this business??” Gaming cuts off on his unfinished statement. He knew that his father wanted to talk about that again..

“..No Jiaming…I- I wanted to…” Mr. Yip went silenced.

“You DO wanted to talk about it..” He responded with a disappointed tone.

“I just wanted for us to talk about the preparation for you to run this family business. You almost had come to age to start a family. So I put matters into hand and arranged you with someone.” Mr. Yip responded arrogantly.

Gaming’s mind went blank for a sec. “Did he just said, he arranged me with someone?? Without even asking me?..This is what he wanted to talk about?? Just to inform me??..”

“I’m guessing that you went silent cause you agree? You don’t want to disappoint the girl that I arranged you right? Then it settles!” Mr. Yip says in response.

“What did he just said? I’m agreeing to to him? When??-.

    “..Yes..Father..”

“What…I didn’t- no..-.” He didn’t realise the words came out from his mouth. He was panicked under the pressure that his father gave him..

“Now go back to work, I don’t want this family business ruined after me”
Mr. Yip stated.

Gaming, who went silent doesn’t know what to respond, clenched his fist and stormed off without saying a word. In spite of it, he didn’t go to work- he ran off towards a high mountain he once hang out when he was a kid. “Just what in the Teyvat is on his mind?? He questioned himself.
