Chapter Text

Chapter-1 The villain that wasn't meant to be

Pain. Pure, unfiltered pain. my head throbbed, my body felt like it had been steamrolled, and worst of all... I wasn't dead.

Which was very concerning.

Because last I checked, I was in my room arguing with my sister about the hero's path. She worshiped that book like it was the holy masterpiece of fantasy literature, but to me? It was just another cookie-cutter chosen-one's story, with the usual overpowered heroes, an evil villain, and a bunch of disposable side characters no one cared about.

And then-boom. Darkness. Nothing. No truck, no dramatic death scene, not even a warning pop-up like, "Hey buddy, you're about to get isekai'd. Buckle up!"

I cracked open my eyes and immediately wished i hadn't. The ceiling above me was fancy. Ornate gold patterns, a ridiculous chandelier, and a general "I have more money than taste" aesthetic. definitely not my room.

"Young master Jaeyun, you're awake?"

The voice made me freeze. Because Jaeyun was not my name.

But it was the name of someone else. Someone i unfortunately remembered.

Sim Jaeyun. a second-rate villain. the human equivalent of a speed bump. he appeared in exactly one and a half scenes, picked a fight with the protagonist, got humiliated in broad daylight, and was never mentioned again.

I scrambled out of the bed and found a mirror across the room. staring back at me was not me. it was a guy with annoyingly good looking features, dark jet black hair, and a general "punch-able noble brat" vibe.

Oh no.

Oh no.

I had been reincarnated.

And not as the hero. Not as the villain. Not even as a decent side character.

I was Sim Jaeyun. a background NPC with an expiration date.

I took a deep breath. "okay, no need to panic."

I lasted three whole seconds before absolutely losing my mind.
