Chapter 1: Something's wrong with Kookie

Chapter Text

The group of seven teens was taking the world by storm. With the world wide handsome grin of Jin, the dimples of Namjoon, the tough exterior of Yoongi, dance steps of Hosoek, Taeyhung’s boxy smile, Jimin’s abs, and Jungkook’s golden title, they had everything they could dream for, living at the top from the moment they debuted. Who would have expeted their happiness and excitement to come crashing down at just the start of their career?

Jungkook lay in bed, enjoying the first day of their latest vacation since their last round of performances. He had been exhausted the last few months from overpractice and multiple shows draining him. He chopped it upto the demand to show more, do more, as he was out of the rookie stage and in the idol stage of his career.

"Kookie!! We are getting ready to eat, you hungry?" Jkin yelled from their kitchen as the smell of bacon and eggs wafted throughout their dorm. The other five boys were being roudy in the living room, enjoying their down time. Jungkook groaned, rolling out of bed and wrapping his blanket around him before joining the others groggily. The boys each walked over seeing the maknae and gave him hugs to welcome him into the presence.

"Morning everyone," Jungkook let out, giving a smile. "Why is everyone so energetic at such a god awful time in the morning?"

"Kookie!" Taehyung let out with his big grin. "It's the first day we don't have to be up for some schedule. It is a glorious morning!"

"No Tae, It is an annoying morning, one I wish I could sleep in for." Yoongi let out in annoying frustration.

"Gius. easy. let's not start this war of complaints before we had a time to eat and relax yea?" Jin let out as he finished cooking. "Tae and Jimin, could you boys set the table for us?"

"Certainly!" the two let out, rushing to get everything set up. Jungkook moved to his seat, feeling exhaustion from standing hitting him.

"You ok maknae?" Yoongi asked, sitting next to him.

"Just really tired hyung. I think I just need a lot of rest before our schedule picks up again."

"Hopefully we can get that, Joon? How much time do we have left?" Yoongie asked.

"About a week before we are scheduled back intot he studio for practice for the award show season."

"A week?? How is that a vacation after the marathon of performances already?" Jimin let out sitting in his chair.

"It could have been shorter but the team was satisfied with how our last show was. They said we could breath a little if we showed true dedication and power when we came back."

"I guess we enjoy this week to the fullest then."

The boys nodded as the food was past around and devoured. They came up with plans to have some fun throughout their downtime to rejuvinate and come back in diving to be there for ARMY.

A few days later, the boys were shopping for some food to do a picnic. Jungkook was being his usual goofy self with Jimin as they walked down the aisles looking for things. Suddenly Jungkook grabbed Jimin's arm, his head feeling very light headed.

"Hey Kookie, you alright?" Jimin asked, looking confused.

"Minnie, my head feels weird. Can we take a seat?"

"Uh, sure let me help you to the ground and we can take a pause alright?"

Jungkook nodded as Jimin helped him move down to the ground. He then closed his eyes and leaned back against the shelves.

"Kookie, you sure your okay? You have never done this before."

"Yea, just light headed Minnie. I'm alright."

Jimin looked at Jungkook with worry, not sure what to do.

"Alright, but when we get back to the dorm, its off to bed with you, no excuses."

"Alright hyung, whatever you say."

After a good fifteen minutes, the two maknaes were on their feet moving to finish their part of the shopping trip.

A week later, the group was back to work in the dance studio, making slight changes for award show performances.

"Kookie, you alright? You seem to be struggling to keep up for some reason." Hobi asked, as the group was taking a water break.

"Yea, I'm okay, just need a moment." Jungkook responded.

Hobi nodded and went to go to his bag to eat one of his granola bars he always kept on him. Jungkook moved to a wall and slid down onto the floor, closing his eyes before resting his head on his knees.

Before he knew it, he was being shaken awake to get back to work for their dance practice. With a groan, he moved to his feet, ignoring the room spinning and started with the group again.

After a few 8 counts pass though, Jungkook found himself stumbling as his work became disorienting. He reached out trying to grab something to keep him upright asx he felt himself leaning sideways, falling to the ground. With a grunt, Namjoon latched onto the kid so he didn't hurt himself. He helped Jungkook lay down on the ground before looking him over.

"Hobi, I think he needs the medical team, he doesn't look good." Namjoon let out.

"This can't just be exhaustion, he's done nothing but sleep these last two weeks." Jimin let out with worry.

"I'll go grab the medical team, try to talk to him to get him to respond to you." Hobi let out before making his way to the medical hall.

The boys tried everything to get Jungkook to respond. Lightly shaking his shoulder, rubbing his upper arm, stroking his hair from his face, were just a few to try to get his reaction. Jungkook just laid there sleeping.

Shortly, Hobi was walking back in, with a group from the medical team and Sejin himself, worried about the maknae. The medical team started to inspect the sleeping youngest while Sejin scanned the rest of the boys.

"You guys just returned to work, how is he this tired? You guys should be refreshed!" Sejin spoke while letting out his frustrations.

"Sir, he's not responding, I think he needs to go to the emergency to make sure he's fine." The lead of the group let out, moving to his feet.

Sejin sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Fine, go get a stretcher and we will take him in using the company van." turning to the rest of the group. "I imagine you lot will be coming with us instead of staying to practice? He is your team member after all."

The boys knew not to be annoyed with Sejin, they were just sad and worried about their youngest. Namjoon moved to start packing up the discarded bags against a mirrored wall. "Yes Sir, I think it is best if we just go with. None of us are going to be able to concentrate until we know Kookie is alright."

"Alright, that is fine. Let's all load up then and get him to emergency."

The boys nodded and gathered their things, following Sejin and the medical team out to the vehicle.

Little did the group know, their life was about to drastically change and this worry was only just the start of a whole new beginning.
