Chapter 1: Stayin' out late at night, yeah, I love it

Chapter Text

Vivianne didn't think about it too much when her parents decided that she spent more time than necessary in the city and that she needed some fresh air. It didn't matter anyways, she never went out and barely had any friends back in the city, not exactly that moving to a small town in the forests would help with that, but it couldn't make anything worse.

December 30, 2024. Nighttime

Vivi was sitting on the porch, her eyes lost in the landscape of the forest. Definitely not Vivi's favorite shade of green, but she couldn't deny that what she was seeing was beautiful. Not a beautiful shade of green, but a beautiful stranger who seemed to be at home in the wonders of the forest. She was dark and mysterious, but beautiful indeed. She moved swiftly under the moonlight. God, she was pretty. The stranger seemed to get closer and closer. She should've been scared, but she wasn't. Don't be stupid and go inside! She could be a hunter or a thief, do not trust her.

She got up and opened the door, her breath heavy at the thought of danger.

"You goin' in already?”

She turned back fast, realizing that she was now face to face with the unknown person.

"Why do y-" STRANGER DANGER! Don't talk to strangers!... But ain't that the way to make friends? She’d never get to know anyone if she didn’t try. Plus, she didn’t really have much to lose.

"Why do you care?"

"Mean." She said with a smug grin. Vivi could see her closely now. A green shirt with some dark beige cargo pants, and a bag full of unknown contents. She had wavy dark brown hair that reached her shoulders accompanied with bangs that covered her forehead. She had a pair of glasses on, which hid her forest-green eyes that contrasted with Vivi’s own dark eyes.

“Don’t I have the right to be mean to the person that might be stalking me?”

“Do I look like I’m stalking you?” No, you look like the first person I might be interested to befriend.

“Maybe. What do you keep in it, though?” Vivianne pointed at the bag hanging from the foreigner’s shoulder. Vivi tensed up when she opened it and grabbed something, looking for any signs of it being a gun or weapon.

“A book.” She said bluntly as she held said object up for Vivi to see.

“Percy jackson?” She chuckled warmly “Get a load of this nerd!”

“Woah, it’s an interesting book! Plus, don’t you think you’re getting a bit too confident for someone who’s name I don’t even know?”

She smiled and held out her hand for the girl to shake. “I’m Vivi”

The girl took her hand and dragged her into the forest.

“WOAH!! I didn’t even get your name!!” Vivi yelled out as she ran behind her

“I’m starz!” She exclaimed as they passed through the trees.

“What kind of name is that??”

My name, dumbass” Starz said and stopped running for a moment before launching herself against the grass, bringing Vivi down with her.

“Ouch!” Vivi cried out in pain after landing right beside starz, “What was that for!?”

“Shut it and look up.” She whispered, gaze focused on the sky above them. There was a group of stars showing through the branches and leaves. It looked nothing like the city’s night sky, which was dark and barely showed anything. In here, you could perfectly find constellations and planets due to the lack of light pollution.

“The stars… they’re so pretty…”

“Geez, thanks”
Stars not starz” She rolled her eyes, “You ain’t that pretty.”

“Then why are you still holding my hand?”

Vivi could feel the blood rushing to her face as she let go of starz’s hand.

“You were the one to grab my hand in the first place!”

“Well you didn’t let go” Starz winked at her.

“You didn’t either.”
