“Have you guys seen that TMZ article on Kacchan?”
Denki kicks off the floor, rolling his chair over to where Shinsou is idly rolling a pen up and down his desk. The computer screen in front of him displays a report template — definitely empty, from the way Shinsou has his head pillowed in his arms — cursor blinking expectantly.
“Your question should actually be which TMZ article on Katsuki haven’t we seen?” Shinsou deadpans. “They publish shit on him hourly.”
“If it’s the one on how Katsuki-kun was almost buried under cats during last week’s cat-pidemic, then yes,” Iida calls.
He’s typing furiously on his own computer, no doubt finishing his own daily patrol report and essentially being the productive, punctual member of society that Denki will never be.
Though, the report will get done anyhow, before he leaves for the evening. Someone — probably Iida (once a class president, always a class president), or Yaomomo (once vice class president, always vice class president) — will make sure of it.
Denki is a pro-hero and number thirty-four in the rankings at that, but that doesn’t mean he’s a responsible adult.
After all these years, his work ethic is still terrible, but no one needs to talk about that. Well, Denki amends, at least not until Bakugou decides to blow up his desk for another half-assed report.
“Pshhh, the cat-pidemic article was soooo last week,” Denki says, waving a hand. He shoves his phone underneath Shinsou’s nose, forcing him to read the headline. “Kacchan got papped this morning. Says he was leaving some mystery person’s apartment in Ebisu.”
“Why do the reporters feel the need to stick their nose into our business,” Shinsou mutters as he slides Denki’s phone back to him. “We’re literally glorified cops with superpowers trying to stop crime. Why does it matter who’s dating who or that Tetsu walked out of his apartment in crocs? Who cares?”
Denki rolls his eyes, tucking his phone into his pocket. “Because we’re pretty much A-list celebs, y’know? Of course people are gonna get invested in our lives if we’ve been saving theirs!”
“That’s not—“
“Anyways, we all know that Blasty doesn’t live anywhere near Ebisu, so…” Denki waggles his brows, grinning at one of their passing sidekicks, Prisma. “Prisma, what do you think of our Dynamight’s little morning adventure?”
They roll their eyes good naturedly, smacking Denki’s shoulder with the back of their hand. “I think he’s gonna kick your butt for tryna speculate on his life, Bolt. Do your report already.”
“But Prisma…!”
“I agree.” Iida gets to his feet, an already printed copy of his report tucked in his hands. “We all know Katsuki-kun is private about his personal life. Whoever’s apartment he left is none of our business.”
“Okay, but aren’t you curious? The last time Kacchan was with someone was when he and Ochako had their weird friends-with-benefits thing in our second year—”
Iida exhales, rubbing his temples and Prisma snickers as they close the door behind them. From behind, he glimpses a flash of interest dart across Shinsou’s placid expression and when he looks at his former class president. Well.
A smirk creeps across his face at the sheepish, guilty blush on Iida’s face.
“Oh, you so wanna know, huh? It’s okay to admit it, class prez.” Denki props his feet up on his desk, swiveling about left and right. “We all wanna know more about our sweet Kacchan’s private life.”
“It’s not proper! Katsuki-kun is our friend and teammate, not to mention our agency’s—“
“The fuck are all you losers sitting around and chatting for? Don’t you have shit to do?”
Ah yes. The man of the hour.
Bakugou Katsuki strolls in through the doors, his eyeliner smudged and his hair smoking slightly, with his gauntlets tucked underarm. Behind him, Midoriya Izuku is scratching the back of his neck, his entire face blackened with soot.
“Sweet fucking Jesus, what happened to you two?” Shinsou stares, utterly aghast, as Bakugou drops his gauntlets to the floor and tosses himself into the nearest chair.
“Some fuckass kid—“
“Kacchan,” Midoriya grumbles wearily. He didn’t even make it to a chair — the poor guy had just collapsed in the middle of the walkway, staring at the floor.
“Ugh, fuck off, Izuku. Some idiot kid manifested their dirt controlling quirk during recess, which meant they decided to try and bury their entire elementary school.”
Bakugou rubs at his eyes and the black smudging of his liner rounds out at the bottom. If Denki doesn’t look properly, Bakugou might’ve passed off as a very angry, smoking blonde raccoon.
“And your hair is smoking because…?”
“Another kid liked the idea of burying their school building, so she uprooted a tree and chucked it at us. Kacchan reacted in time, but he also set the tree on fire for a good minute so…”
Denki winces, thinking of the horrors of elementary school children from all his prior patrols. Case in point: the cat-pidemic. An incident none of them were interested in repeating.
“‘M heading out,” Bakugou mutters.
Every head in the room snaps to him as he staggers to his feet.
“Dude, there’s no way you’re going back on patrol!” Denki hisses. He chucks a pen in Bakugou’s general direction and it bounces off his shoulder. The guy doesn’t even react: a testament to the toils of today’s patrol.
“Kacchan, Ochako and Momo, along with a couple of our interns are already out. They can handle it,” Midoriya says firmly, pushing up on his knees. He manages to pull himself to crouch on his heels before he falls back on his butt. “Sit down, so help me God—”
The other merely shakes his head as he picks up his gauntlets and his hero costume case by the door. “Chill. I’m not fucking patrolling again. Got somewhere to be.”
Iida shoots a wide-eyed glance at Denki, who frantically waves at Shinsou, who totally, blatantly ignores Denki’s signals and goes full steam ahead.
“What kind of plans you got?”
Bakugou shoots a suspicious glance over his shoulder. “The kind that’s none of your damn business. I’ll see you fuckers tomorrow.”
He kicks open the door and strides out, but not before Denki bites the bullet and shouts, “Does it have to do with your Ebisu apartment fling?”
The resounding slam of the door is his only answer.

[19:52] Crimson: KATSUKI
The minute Katsuki shuts the door behind him, he’s immediately assaulted by an obscene amount of fluff.
“Shit,” he groans, dropping his hero costume case to the floor in favor of embracing the ball of fur. “Katsudon, get off, holy fuck.”
There’s a disgruntled mrow as Katsuki detaches the claws of the absolutely massive ball of orange fur from his clothes and holds his offender up in the air. Katsudon stares down at him, her eyes perpetually scrunched and her expression haughty and utterly unimpressed. Freaking orange cats.
“Did Eijirou not feed you?” He squints up at the cat, wiggling her round bottom from side to side.
Katsudon meows loudly, as if in complaint of her feeding routine. “I dunno, you’re looking a little too fucking fed…”
“Are you fat shaming our daughter?”
A grin creeps over Katsuki’s lips and he turns his head, locking eyes with one Kirishima Eijirou.
“I would never. Just shaming the cat dad who fed her so much.”
Eijirou’s soft camellia petal eyes glitter with mirth and Katsuki’s heart skips two beats as his boyfriend takes a step closer. Their hands brush as Eijirou takes hold of the squirming Katsudon to cradle her to his chest.
“If I remember correctly, you were the one feeding her extra treats after dinner,” Eijirou teases, kissing the top of Katsudon’s head. She purrs loudly in his arms at the extra affection, the traitor.
Katsuki rolls his eyes — seriously, if Katsudon got rounder from eating a couple more treats than she was supposed to, that’s not his problem.
Probably.
“What can I say?” He leans in close, his breath grazing over Eijirou’s lips ever so sweetly, and there’s a delicious lick of heat that curls in his stomach as his boyfriend’s pupils dilate. “I can’t turn her down when she’s giving me those eyes.”
“Yeah?”
Eijirou loosens his grip on Katsudon, enough for her to leap out of his arms and scurry into the kitchen. And now—
Eijirou’s hand slips around his waist, his camellia eyes glittering like morning dewdrops on delicate petals as he pulls Katsuki impossibly closer. His lips hover centimeters away from Katsuki’s and he so badly wants to lean in and just take.
“That makes two of us, hmm? I mean…” Eijirou brushes a blonde strand out of Katsuki’s eyes, his smile warm and utterly fond.
He wants to kiss that smile off of his mouth so goddamn bad.
“I can’t really resist when you’re giving me those eyes either.”
Katsuki grins, heart jackhammering against his ribs as he wraps his arms around Eijirou’s neck. His boyfriend’s hands tighten imperceptibly on his waist and oh, his touch is everything and forever and just like every first time.
“Then don’t.”
There’s no hesitation when Eijirou meets him in the middle.
“You know,” Katsuki drawls lazily, “Your album hit number one on the global boards today.”
He’s sprawled across Eijirou’s lap, scrolling mindlessly through the music ranking site on his phone as the third All Might movie plays in the background. Despite the film being his selection for the night and one of his all time favorites, he can’t bring himself to pay attention. Not when Eijirou’s hand is slowly, purposefully carding through his hair and gently massaging his scalp. Not when Eijirou’s latest album has just ranked first in the entire fucking world.
“Mm, really? Didn’t notice,” Eijirou hums, low and husky in the din of the swelling backtrack. He seems to be more focused on working his hands through Katsuki’s scalp anyhow, his fingers kneading the throbbing pain out of his temples.
Katsuki frowns, squinting up at his boyfriend. “It’s a big accomplishment, Eiji. Shouldn’t you and the other Riots be more excited?”
Eijirou shrugs, a gentle, slight gesture. “I’m sure Kyouka’s thrilled and Mina and Sero are probably celebrating by dragging Shouto to the club as we speak, but…”
“But what?” Katsuki catches Eijirou’s hands in his hair, threading his fingers through his as he presses his mouth to Eijirou’s knuckles. “Talk to me, Ei.”
His boyfriend exhales, slow, steady, and he squeezes Katsuki’s hands back reassuringly. “Nothing, really. I just…” Eijirou shakes his head, before a devastatingly gentle smile curls onto his lips. “I didn’t write this album with the intent of it being a smash hit, y’know? So I don’t really care about where it lands in the rankings.”
Eijirou leans down, pressing a sweet kiss to Katsuki’s forehead. It’s inexplicably gentle, almost a caress and the air around them is charged with a heat that trickles into the tips of Katsuki’s ears.
“As long as the person it’s written for loves it, then it doesn’t matter whether it ranks first or last.”
Eijirou brings their entwined hands to his lips, slowly kissing the scars on Katsuki’s hands with a reverence that was once reserved for the gods, as if Katsuki himself were a god turned mortal man.
He kisses Katsuki’s scars with a careful kind of adoration: as if they were a lifeline, as if Katsuki were a statue of old, as if Katsuki was worth revering.
He’s not: Katsuki knows that he is nowhere near a deity of old, but there’s no questioning it. No questioning the depth of Eijirou’s feelings because he knows. God, does he ever know.
The album cover for ‘RUBY’ sits at the top of the loaded site: bare, muscled arms pulling a heart shaped, ruby tipped arrow taunt in a bronze bow. The bow itself has firework lines and curls of smoke and music notes etched into the sides.
Had Katsuki been just another schmuck on the street, he probably would’ve assumed it was just a basic, half assed album cover, chosen for aesthetics and some vague meaning about love and loss.
But Katsuki knows better, knows damn well that each motif was chosen with care, and that the cover, the title, and shit , the entire album is a fucking love letter.
A love letter to him.
“You’re such a sap,” he mumbles instead, but he’s thinking of the track titles and chosen singles and how each beat, each scored melody, every single goddamn note, is the sound of Eijirou’s heart.
This is yours, Eijirou tells him, in between every line, in the crevasses of his callused fingertips, in the swell and roll of his voice, crooning through the microphone. Everything that I have, everything that I am, has always been yours. Every beat of my heart belongs to you.
Eijirou laughs, soft and quiet and filled with the crackling fire of hearth and home. “Yeah? What gave it away?”
Katsuki sits himself up, crawling onto Eijirou’s lap to straddle his waist. The ending song of the All Might movie sings low and heady in the background, but the only melody that he hears is the thrum of Eijirou’s heart underneath his hands and the singing of his blood when Eijirou’s mouth presses into the curve of his neck.
“Not much really,” he says.
Eijirou has as much subtlety as a dog in a crowd of cats. He does everything in all its entirety, never leaving anything half-assed — always in whole and never in halves. And whatever he does, he does it with his whole heart, with everything he has.
Loving Katsuki is no exception.
Katsuki has never been with anyone else properly, never had anyone to call his own, until Eijirou. Eijirou, who handed him his whole heart on their first meeting, Eijirou, who loved him fearlessly and loudly and shamelessly.
Eijirou, who wrote him an entire album as a testament, as tangible proof to the entire world that he loves Bakugou Katsuki.
Katauki’s pulse is wild and helpless under Eijirou’s touch, under the simple adoration of his gaze. The careful fluttering of his heart races with reckless abandon, in time with the beat of Eijirou’s staccato of beats. Their eyes meet, camellia crimson on crushed ruby red, and Katsuki feels like he’s falling in love all over again. Feels like he’s seeing Eijirou again for the very first time.
“Just the fact that you spelled it out for the whole world to see, is all.”
