Work Text:

Winwin was laying down on the couch, glued to his phone while doom scrolling out of boredom. His roommate Ten might come in a few minutes, but almost every room is a mess. Sicheng knew that Ten will be angry when he will see a mess in the kitchen and untidied Sicheng's room.

Winwin was in a kind of state when you can't get up and do something. The only hope is that Ten will understand Sicheng, maybe help him out, but no one can see the true intentions of a person.

The door quietly opened, almost if someone behind it was scanning the territory, peeking through a small gap in the door. Ten finally stepped inside, observing the conditions of their apartment.

He took his shoes off before jumping on the couch on Winwin. His face was hard to read, but no signs of anger were showing in Ten's eyes.

"Winwin, have you got good rest?" Ten messed up Sicheng's hair and looked him in the eyes with a warm gaze.

Sicheng was taken aback by what Ten said. His voice was softer than usual. Winwin's arms wrapped around Ten and pulled him closer.

"Actually... I'm a bit tired resently" responded Winwin, who was usually a cheerful friend - that's what others will describe him as.

Ten was the person Winwin wanted to tell everything. One small thing made Winwin trust the other boy even more. He just wanted to cry in Ten's shoulder and don't say a word.

In Winwin's arms, Ten felt warm and cozy. A feeling of safety even. Ten had many friends, but Winwin... he is his safe place. He couldn't bring himself to shout at an exhausted person over a dirty sink. Moreover, his close roommate, who made every day a tiny bit sunnier.

Ten didn't further ask Winwin. He didn't wanna make it worse. He just pulled Sicheng to a tighter hug, simply whispering "It's Ok. Ok not to feel great." Ten's hand stroke Sicheng's back, then went up and held his head.

"Ten, I'm-" Winwin stuttered to say something as tears formed in his eyes. He felt like a child in mother's arms - protected and helpless. "I'm overwhelmed by everything. I can't keep up. If I could only quit..."

"Shhh, whatever you are going through is normal," Ten's hand still petting Sicheng's soft hair. He wanted to finally give back all the love and care sweet Winwin gave him. "I will clean the kitchen, go to your bed and get rest. I'll take care of everything."

Ten guided Winwin to his bed, getting him a blanket and making sure he was comfy. He was happy giving a favor back, and happy to see his friend get the needed rest.

"Ten," murmured Winwin when Ten was sitting down on the bed next to him "Thanks."

Ten was caught off guard by something warm on his cheek. Winwin pressed his lips to Ten's cheek, giving him a quick kiss. His lips grew to a playful smile. Ten felt his cheeks getting hotter and more red. He pushed the boy back to the laying position and leaned over him to give Sicheng a tight hug. The feeling of a kiss still lingered on Ten's cheek.

"Rest well." smiled back Ten and slowly pulled away, leaving the room. He was still thinking about Winwin's kiss. It was just a cheek, but so cute and subtle.

'Who am I to deserve a person like him' was the only Thought in Ten's mind while washing dishes.

He tried to be careful and don't make a lot of noise. The younger man might be sleeping.

Actually, Ten knew that something was going on with Winwin. He always heard him tossing and turning in his bed, he wasn't hungry in the evening after a tiring day, and when he was eating it was instant ramen.

He still remembered Winwin's kiss.

Ten's hand started to levitate towards his cheek. His lips pressed into a thin smile.

Sicheng always gave hugs when words weren't enough. He always adjusted Ten's blanket when he himself wasn't sleeping. If only time could stop so they can cuddle forever, sharing warmth in silence without a worry.

Ten snapped back to reality, remembering that he needs to finish doing the dishes.

When the sink was squeaky clean, the table all organized, he went to check on Sicheng, his sweetest roommate.

He quietly opened the door, peeking in on Sicheng. His eyelids were closed, body relaxed and phone put away. He was sleeping like a baby, all wrapped in a blanket, which made Ten smile. He made his way to Winwin's bed and laid next to the younger man.

Ten put his arm around Winwin, hugging his shoulders. Ten could feel how warm his friend's body was. He wanted to dig his nose into Sicheng's shoulder, his soft hoodie.

Everything around was so quiet and relaxing, only noise of cars passing by. Sunlight from the window made it feel like summertime. Wind flew in through the window replacing old air with fresh and pure, that was making you wanna hang out and play ball with homies.

Breezy air hit Ten's nose, making him wanna fall asleep even more. Next to Winwin he felt safe, in their room, in his bed. Memories of all their arguments came rushing back, but never regret for choosing to live together in an apartment.

Ten could only smile in his sleep.

Winwin started turning to face Ten, which woke the other boy too. Sicheng's eyes refused to open, but he didn't need sight to feel Ten's presence.

"You got tired too?" softly murmured Sicheng, sleepy from such a long nap.

"No, I just came to hug you," answered older "But yeah, I finished cleaning and wanna relax."

Winwin wrapped his blanket around Ten, now both of them feeling warm, safe and cozy. They didn't really need rest, maybe the time spent together does the thing. No words, just laying under a blanket.

"Sicheng," Ten called his roommate, who was fully awake now, cutely rubbing his eyes "I can't... hide it anymore. We spent so much time together, in college, then moved here together, really it was the best decision. Falling from heaven must've been hard, huh?"

Ten put a loose hair behind Sicheng's ear. The boy could only smile. Ten's eyes looked directly at him, full of love.

"You're the true gift. You deserve everything," softly spoke Sicheng. He moved his head closer to Ten and carefully placed the sweetest kiss next to Ten's lips. "Be mine?"

"There's only one answer," turned to speak Ten. He put his lips on Winwin's and his arms snaked around his waist.

And this moment felt like heaven, as if all the time stopped just for those two.

Ten's body is relaxed and he could feel it getting hotter. He loved Winwin, but realized only now, and this is the perfect moment to tell him that.

Winwin pulled away to breathe, slowly opening his eyes. Everything he's been hiding for months now can be said - he finally has a person to tell everything.

Ten's hand has holding Winwin's head, the other one on his waist. He kissed him once again, this time deeper and longer, everything he would do for Sicheng. He pulled away slowly.

Sicheng's heart was ready to jump out of his chest, his breathing shallow. He deeply looked into Ten's eyes, trying to read every emotion that his now boyfriend was feeling.

"I can't say how much I love you," whispered Winwin. He burrowed his face into Ten's collarbone, smelling a faint scent of his cologne. It smelled fresh and fancy, really fitting for Ten.

"You don't need words, babe" whispered Ten right to Sicheng's ear.

They just laid in silence, cuddling under a blanket and exchanging small kisses. Soon Ten fell asleep in the calming presence of his babe. Winwin tried to close his eyelids and also fall asleep. No matter what, he couldn't, so he played with Ten's hair instead.

Few minutes after, Winwin was pretty bored, so he placed a kiss on Ten's forhead and went to the kitchen. He made sure to make his exit quiet.

The kitchen had beautiful white marble floor with a granite countertop. In the center was standing the main table with hight chairs next to it. The room itself was quite small, but had a cozy vibe to it.

Winwin walked up to the counter and filled the kettle with water, then turned it on. He was going to make some tea. All the tea bags are stored in a wooden cabinet above the counter alongside sugar.

And Ten was still sleeping. Actually sleeping, not just a nap. He was tired from a long day of work. The two boys were born one year apart, but Sicheng is still in university.

They met in college and by the graduation they were inseparable. The two bonded very well and moved to an apartment in the same town. Ten chose to start working to afford a house while Winwin went to a good university. They moved here about a year ago and so far, it's going great.

Having a job is not easy, but Sicheng's student life seemed to be just as stressful. The feeling of anxiety rushed to him as soon as he stepped onto the campus. Most of the nights he couldn't even fall asleep.

Ten wanted to take care of the younger boy.

Ten woke up without his roommate by his side. This worried him a little, but he stayed laying in bed.

Winwin came in the room carrying two cups of tea. "Hey, you're already up. I made something to drink." he said with a warm smile, soon placing the cups on the bedside table.

"That's sweet," Ten's lips also grew into a smile. He reached for the cup and took a sip.

"Sicheng," called Ten "You're beutiful."

Winwin just looked into Ten's eyes, fluster all over his face. He quietly murmured 'thanks' and dropped his gaze to his mug.

"But really, Sicheng," the older continued "What's bothering you? You seem tired."

"It's just-" Winwin's smile dropped, fingers tapping against the mug "I don't know what to do with my life. I think about future a lot. It's a lot to carry. That's- If it was the right decision. "

Ten just quietly hugged Sicheng, putting his own cup away. He wrapped a blanket around Winwin's shoulders. "You'll figure it out, I can pay for everything at for at least another 2 years".

Winwin's body relaxed to Ten's warm hug. He put his cup away and hugged Ten back. His arm sat nicely around his waist and he just wanted to burrow his face in Ten's collarbone once again, cry it all out. Ten was the one to support you with hugs, bringing up your mood with small actions.

Sicheng's lips parted like he was going to say something, but he found no fitting words. Silence was kind of... comforting. Just there, cuddling with Ten. Winwin put his head on Ten's shoulder, feeling safe and small in his roommate's arms.

* College years : graduation
year // ????

Finally a group of friends could all have a reunion. It's the hot summer days, the start of some of the greatest days next to the greenest nature has ever been.

A friend group Sicheng and Ten were a part of has planning a picnic in the forest down the city. It was a beautiful place, and they expected just as an existing day spent together.

Ten was standing at the door waiting for Winwin to get ready too. They were living in the same dorm, since they bonded after chatting for a while.

"Don't forget the food basket!" Ten shouted into the room.

Outside, Ten was standing next to his car. He recently got a license, balancing student life and driving lessons.

Ten got inside and Winwin followed. "Let's go?" The younger turned with a smile. He looked straight at Ten's eyes.

They locked eyes for a moment but Ten turned away and started the car.

They arrived at a beautiful spot in the forest. Trees were whispering something with the wind, creating a beautiful melody, where birds were the main singers. All this was so relaxing and peaceful, the clear blue sky making it feel like old days.

Yuta, Taeyong, Haechan and Yangyang arrived too. They also drove by car ridden by Yuta. The group exchanged hugs and happy high fives.

"Haechan! Haven't seen you in a while, wussup?" Ten spoke to his friend, who was studying in another college alongside Yuta and Taeyong.

"I'm good, man, how's your life?" Haechan answered with a happy smile, finally seeing his fella.

Yuta and Taeyong talked to Winwin, while Yangyang stayed by Haechan's side. Talking about how they been and exchanging a few words has nice to do in a while.

They finally put a blanket on the ground and assembled the food. Yuta put his arm around Taeyong as they sat next to each other. Yangyang whispered something to Haechan and they giggles leaving everyone just wondering what devious little fellas they were.

Soon the forest was filled with murmur of a group of young adults.

"So, you're moving in... together?" Yuta asked Ten "What about Winwin's university?"

"Yes, together." turned to speak Ten as he wrapped his arms around Sicheng.

"Oooh, living together, when y'all getting married?" Haechan teased the two. He always had something to say to make everyone laugh.

"Y'all aren't even in a relationship talking about marriage" without missing a beat Yuta added.

"Are you two even together?" delivered Haechan to the couple of the group (Yuta and Taeyong), "Cuz I never seen y'all kiss or do couple shit."

"You jerk," Taeyong pinched Haechan's cheek making him utter a sound. "Continue."

"Yes" Ten gave a short answer

"Actually, Ten talked about an apartment, and since I don't wanna search for a new roommate, I wished to live with Ten" Winwin gave a more pronoun answer.

"That's interesting," murmured Yuta. He proceeded to take a grape from the basket and offered it to Taeyong. "Let's have a good time together!" he announced with a big smile.

"Sicheng" Haechan called "Do you love Ten or something?"

"Bruh-" Ten was ready to punch his face, but Yangyang caught him by the wrist and laught it off

"And what if?" Winwin made a playful pout to annoy the guy.
