Chapter Text
He breathed out heavily, the night bringing a cool breeze through the forest. Stars burned bright and littered the sky. The oak trees creaked in the sway of the wind and bats navigated the ether. Green grass that seemed to stretch on forever was crisp and dulled the aching pain on his feet. cGeorge sat on a hill, looking over at the crater that'd wiped the land of most living things. Both his best friends had been in that explosion, and he now had to deal with the unfortunate suffering of grief. He never found their corpses.
A slightly muffled and corrupted whisper crept up behind him, sending chills up his spine. The tall figure's shadow loomed above him, with his glowing gold halos spinning around his head. The god's cape ruffled in the wind, sending the floating stars embedded in the cape to surround the two. "Stop weeping over the past, it's gone." The figure echoed distorted words, stepping delicately, often misjudged due to his unnatural size, beside cGeorge. Bringing his knees to his chest, cGeorge buried his head in them. Sniffling from the cold air, he wrapped his arms around himself to contain any body heat he still had left.
"How about stop being so heartless?" cGeorge's voice trembled, the cold air adding bitterness to his bite. "I thought our deal was friends forever if you gave me netherite. You're not being very friendly right now." The god shrugged but had a slight smirk on his lips. Taking a step forward, he looked over at the horizon. A very faint yellow still showed in the sky. "I never said I had to be friendly towards you." cGeorge rolled his eyes and stood up, brushing the few blades of grass and dirt still remained on his pants off. A loud boom erupted from the sky. cGeorge flinched, his shoulders tensed up and froze in his spot. What the fuck?... Looking up in the sky a piercing light filled the sky and got bigger into his vision, and before he could react everything went black.

The walls felt like they were closing in on him, the old obsidian walls used to be unbroken and sturdy. Now their cracked and weary, lava seeping through them. The heat suffocated the air, cDream's breath short and shallow due to the hot air infecting his lungs. A raspy cough wracked through his body, making his whole body shake and shiver. Curling up in a ball on the rough floor cDream squeezed his eyes shut, his heart ran at an unnatural pace. Any other limbo would've been better than this. cDream scolded himself, tugging at his now terribly matted hair. The small drizzle of lava from the cracks slithered it's way over to cDream's knees. cDream hissed in pain as the magma burnt his skin. A lone tear rolled across his face. He looked towards the sheet of lava in front of him as a loud screeching made his ears pin back and his face cringe, like nails on a chalkboard. A floating red ball made its way through the lava and dropped to the obsidian floor with a clunk. cDream sat up in an instant and a little voice in his head screamed at him that it was a sign for him to somehow make his way out of death with it. It could've been a sign from the gods! But before he could reach out to grab it, the ball burst, blinding him with a red liquid, texture like blood. He let out a loud screech in terror and pain, but his screams went unheard, and that's when it all went black.

Darkness pooled in the raven haired man's vision. The whispering echos of his past friends haunted him, gripping a tight hold on his hair and rocking back and forth. Humming old songs he and his friends used to love, cSapnap knew he was at least going a bit crazy. He hated cDream for what he became, he'd wonder where cGeorge had gone, cKarl had slowly lost his memories and cQuackity left. He'd lost everything and the voices were ringing in his head, taunting him. The only thing giving him the slightest bit of comfort was the flame he emitted from his hands, the warmth wrapping around his body.
Stupid limbo, stupid darkness. I bet anyone would have a better limbo. Light suddenly encased his tightly shut eyes. cSapnap at first ignored it, imaging it was just his own flame but as he extinguished his flame the light still remained. Practically breaking his neck from looking up so fast, his hope shot through his veins. A bright white flame burned like the sun. Trembling, he sat up, stepping forward and reaching out his hand to touch it. cSapnap yelped as parts of his body were quickly sucked into the flame. Every part of his body was in an excruciating burning pain. He tried to rip away from it before the flame swallowed him whole and his vision was greeted with a vast black of nothing. Again.
