If all you knew about Gem was her reputation, you'd be confused entering her kingdom.
The city was beautiful, rustic townhouses lining the meandering main street, little alleyways with expertly-done weathering- that part of her reputation made sense! It was just-
Wasn't this supposed to be an ocean kingdom?
If you were to continue down the empty main street-
There was no castle at the end to be framed by the overgrown topiaries, only a... dock? Well, it would make sense if she liked to fish, right?
You would've been able to see her fishing if you just looked down!
