Guest charged at Chance while the beast tried to grab at Elliot, knocking him to the side. They slowly turned to Guest, who backed away as quickly as he charged.
Chance slammed his arm into the ground and spikes flew out from the direction he was facing. Guest, out of breath, couldn’t move in time as the spikes headed straight for him. He was impaled and laid limp with a black spike through chest. The blood from his wound staining the black spike as Elliot quickly retreated behind a brick wall, gasping for air while trying to keep quiet at the same time.
Chance slowly looked around, a permanent smile on his lifeless face. They used their ability and looked for the glowing silhouettes of the survivors. Their smile turned into a grin when he spotted Elliot’s silhouette. He stepped over to the wall Elliot was behind, his footsteps heavy and corrupted, a virus spreading on the grass where he last stepped. Suddenly, a yellow flash darted past him and he gave chase, forgetting the pizza boy.
Noob let out pants of adrenaline as they ran past the corrupted being. They were no savior but there was only a minute left to the timer and if Elliot died, so would they. And if they did die, at least they did it heroically. Even if it hurt.
They heard Chance’s loud footsteps following them and their speed boost from the soda had ran out. They were getting more tired and their legs started to hurt. Noob then slammed into the vending machine inside of the building, sending them flying back at Chance. The survivalist let out a yelp of pain as they felt a horrible stinging sensation from making contact with the beast. They quickly reached into their inventory and grabbed a slateskin but a large, spike-like arm hit them aggressively, sending the drink flying. It was the only one they had and now, they was helpless.
Noob looked up at Chance, shaking and terrified for what’s to come. They both made eye contact as Chance raised his arm to stab Noob and the corrupted creature froze. The yellow survivor teared up as they stared at Chance. That man used to be their everything but now… he was a monster. A corrupted creature who only craved destruction.
For some reason, Chance intently stared into their eyes, like he was trying to remember something. Noob nervously gulped and shakily took something out of their pocket. A shiny gold coin.
Chance’s smile changed. For the first time, their expression of cruel joy turned into something else, something new. His face couldn’t quite lose the smile but he didn’t look as lifeless as he usually was. Noob let out a choked sob and weakly smiled.
“Chance…”
That name… it was so familiar but so… foreign. With his claw, he slowly reached out, to touch the yellow person.
Unfortunately, it was interrupted by a warm slice of pizza landing right next to little, innocent Noob.
The ex-gambler’s mouth turned back into its lifeless smile and he slashed Noob. Noob cried out and scrambled back to his feet to run. Chance grabbed them and was about to stab his spike straight into their stomach when the timer ended and survivors were gone. He froze, now alone in this unfamiliar environment. He looked down and saw the same gold coin that was in the yellow survivor’s hand. He didn’t know who that robloxian was but even his corruption couldn’t stop them from hoping…
Hoping they could see the person with the gold coin again.
