Waking up at your non-in-laws' house

Summary:

Robin waking up, disoriented because this isn't his bed after a party in the tower.

His former childhood friend turned enemy offering him a smile and a cup of coffee.

Work Text:

Robin woke up in a bed he knew wasn't his because his bed in the tower wasn't as comfortable and his bed in the mansion felt like clouds.

This bed had cured the backache he'd had since Thursday.

When Robin opened his eyes, he found his ex-best friend offering him a cup of coffee.

"Kid Flash? Where are we?" Robin said, rubbing his eyes and accepting the offered cup.

"At Iris and Barry's, we moved after the party," Wally said, sitting down in his desk chair.

"The party? Oh yeah, the party. Shit, we're going to have to clean up a lot today," Dick said, remembering the party they'd thrown at Titans Tower.

"Do you want breakfast?" Wally asked.

"Do you want me to run into your parents after I forget I went to a party 5 minutes ago?" Dick asked, raising a questioning eyebrow.

"Well, yeah, I mean, it's been a while since you've seen Barry and Iris," Wally said with a smile.

"Tell me they're not going to kill me," Dick said, placing the mug on the nightstand and running his hands over his face.

"More like they'll kill me for pushing you away," Wally said.

"Okay, deserved it. One last thing. Did we do it?" Dick asked, looking at the redhead.

"No, you were drunk, and as much as I'd love to sleep with you, I'd rather do it with you conscious," Wally said.

"Okay, great. So why don't I have any pants?" Dick asked.

"You threw them in a river," Wally said. "Here, I'll lend you some of mine."

Dick handed him a pair of gray sweatpants and put them on before getting out of bed.

The two young men went down to the kitchen and were met with knowing smiles from Barry and Iris.

"So, how was your night?" Barry asked before taking a sip of his coffee.

"You know we didn't do anything," Wally said, giving the man a dirty look.

"Hey Richard, long time no see," Iris said, hugging the boy.

"Yeah, sorry for breaking into your house," Dick said.

"You're not breaking into your house, you know you're not breaking into anything. You're more than welcome to stay and eat," Iris said with a smile.

Dick looked at the clock on the wall that said 2 p.m.

"I didn't realize it was so late," Dick said.

"Did you at least sleep well?" Barry asked.

"Very actually" Dick said

"okay, then," Barry said.

Wally was glaring at his parents from the corner, but his parents completely ignored him.

Dick sat down at the table, and Iris told Wally to set the table.

"What have I told you about using your powers for mundane things?" Iris said, putting her hands on her hips when she saw her son use his super speed to put the dishes away.

"Don't do it" Wally said with a smile as he sat next to Robin.

The family ate peacefully while talking about mundane things and what Robin did in the time the four of them hadn't seen each other.

In the end, the afternoon dragged on, and the four ended up playing Monopoly.

"Thank you for your hospitality, but I really should go" Dick said, seeing that it was already 6 p.m.

"Shall I take you?" Wally asked.

"Oh, well, you'd be doing me a favor if you did," Dick said.

"We hope to see you here more often, Dick" Iris said, hugging the young man goodbye.

"I'll try," Dick said, smiling at the woman.

"It was nice seeing you Richard. Please excuse our idiot son" Barry said.

"What?" Dick said.

"Nothing. Goodbye" Wally said, grabbing the young man and running out of the house.

"What did Barry mean by apologies?" Robin asked as he was placed on the lawn of Titans Tower.

Wally looked at the young man who had been his friend a long time ago before they became enemies. "I..."

Robin looked at him relaxedly, encouraging him to continue.

"I'm sorry, Robin, for kicking you out of your tower and for the two times I stole your team" Kid Flash said, looking at the young man "I know we were best friends before and that we were both to blame for the argument that broke us up, but it wasn't right of me to do that"

"Kf..." Robin said, appreciating the apology. "I should apologize too. I sent you to the hospital twice, and I should have talked to you instead of just arguing. I understand your behavior."

"Can we..." Kid Flash said.

"Try again?" Robin asked.

"Yes" Kid Flash said with a smile.

"Okay" Robin said.

"Thanks Robin" Kid Flash said with a smile, hugging the boy.

"So, what's this about you liking me?" Dick asked, amused by the hug.

"What? Nothing. Bye" Kid Flash said nervously, running off.

"See you on Wednesday" Robin shouted, knowing his friend would hear him.

"I hope we do things right this time" Dick thought to himself before entering the tower.
