It was late. Foggy knew it was late; they had gone to bed about an hour or so ago, but his mind was racing. Overthinking was always a problem for him, and now it was keeping him up.
“I can hear that you are awake” Foggy then looked at the body next to them, and saw Matt's silhouette turn over to move closer to him.
“How can you hear that I am awake?” Foggy smiles, reaching out to hold Matt’s hand.
“Hmm, your heartbeat is faster as blood goes up to your wonderful brain. Too irregular to fall asleep to” Matt inches closer “What's on your mind?” throwing his free arm over Foggy's body.
“ Just casework, you listen to my heart to go to sleep?” Foggy asks curiously
“Hmm, too much noise, so I focus on one thing, most of the time it is your heartbeat.” Matt moves his hand over Foggy’s chest, feeling around before landing in the middle to feel the strong heartbeat.
Foggy smiles as he pulls on Matt’s arm until his upper body is on top of his own. Once on top, Matt felt around to find Foggy’s jaw, then kissed it and then down the neck to his sternum. He then laid his ear against Foggy’s chest, listening to the heart beating. “Go to sleep, my love”, He whispered.
Foggy smiled with those words, his heart futtering (Matt chuckled). He placed his hand up and found Matt’s soft hair behind his ear and slowly started to stroke it.
“I love you”, he whispered back.
Closing his eyes and letting himself listen to Matt’s breathing, slowing Matt’s breath even out as did Foggy’s heartbeat both falling asleep around the same time.
