Chapter Text
Dirt, was the first thought that came to me as I realized I was lying face down in a grassy field. I tried to roll myself over on my back wondering why my body felt like a crumpled-up piece of paper. As I rolled over, my arm touched a cold but blunt object stuck into the ground. I finally opened my eyes realizing that I was staring at the clear open sky, and the only thing around me was healthy grass and the vibrant green trees rustling in the fresh breeze. I finally peer over at the object next to me, and I couldn't believe my eyes it was a sword, a shitty orange-colored sword from the condition I'm seeing it in. The sword didn't even have an edge, it looked like a small pike in the dirt it seemed to me. Then I noticed there were a few more tools scattered next to me, what looked like an axe and pickaxe, which were similar in quality to the sword. There is something in my mind that makes this scene feel similar.
I then examine my state of dress as I look over myself, I seem to be in my regular state of dress. I then pat my pockets. Damn, I have nothing on me but my clothes. I take a few moments to breathe in and out as I think about how or why I ended up here. I try to think of my most recent memory... And all I'm drawing are blanks. Why can't I remember...
My breathing is starting to get erratic, I try to pull information about myself, my name, age, and anything that can center me. I say aloud "My name is Chris, I'm 17, and I spend most of my time reading novels, and playing games." My breathing starts to calm down but stays a bit rough. I lay my head back against the grass and sigh in relief, as I graze through my memories, it feels like everything but information about myself and hobbies has been blurred with a censor.
I finally push myself and stand up, and my muscles and joints feel locked up as if I were lying in this meadow for days. As I stretch a bit, I try to look around for any other objects scattered around, but no luck. As I was surveying the area, I heard 'Plap, Plap, Plap' It was like jelly hitting a solid ground in a rhythm, and so I turned my gaze in the direction of the noise, and low and behold a translucent round piece of green jelly hopping towards me.
At that moment everything was just locked in place, the dilapidated orange tools and weapon, the vibrant meadow that seemed untouched by unrealistic, and now an actual living piece of slime. I was isekaied, and while I didn't know if it was a regular fantasy world, anime, or novel, in this situation I have to be careful.
First things first, I have to see if this little guy is hostile... Ok, calling it little is a bit of an understatement, when it's like more than a third of my height. I back up moving towards the sword stabbed in the ground and trying to placate the slime, "Hey little guy? No maybe lil jelly ball, let's give each other some space so please stop hopping towards me" It kept on hopping menacingly towards me, so I hastily pulled the sword, out of the ground, and man it looked dull and small, I mean like it had the shape of a sword but barely an edge, and the blade was barely longer than a ruler. Ok the most viable option was stabbing, and I hoped slimes had the same physics as a balloon, stab equals popping. But as I was psyching myself up while keeping my eye on the approaching slime, the slime jumped at me from 3 meters away nailing me in the chest. The air was knocked out of me, and as I was falling I just kept stabbing the shortsword into the living piece of jelly that just knocked me over. I hit the grass hard, thankfully the grass cushioned the fall by a little. I could feel slime contracting itself as it was about to jump up and slam harder down onto me, so I held onto the slime with one arm with all my might trying to not let it escape, and after the twentieth stab, the slime imploded covering me with its slime, and I stand corrected it wasn't a ball of jelly but gel.
It even got into my mouth, it tasted like sour candy, and so after a few minutes of spitting that gel out and scraping it off myself the shortsword, examined my body where the slime tackled my chest, and it was going to leave of bruise or cracked my ribs, but after lifting my shirt there was already signs of it healing, which was weird but then again I'm in a fantasy world so I'll let that slide for now. After that checkup, I checked the splatter zone of the thing that was once a slime and I spied in the splatter of gel, multiple pieces of orange coins in the gel that weren't there when the slime was alive. After I picked up the coins I could conclude they were made of copper, and for some reasoning, I can't get this foreboding feeling in my stomach to leave. But then I got giddy, I've always wanted to do this but I'd probably sound insane, "Open Stats, Attributes, Menu, Inventory" After the first few phrases nothing happened, but when I said inventory a menu seemed to open up in my front of me, a ten by four inventory where one of the slots in the first row was already filled by the shortsword in my hand. I tried moving the sword into one of the other rows, then it disappeared from my hand, but when I switched it back to anywhere in the first row it appeared back on my body, with a scabbard attached to my belt. I picked up a copper coin and noticed a new one-by-four square column appeared in the inventory screen, so I picked up all the coins totaling up to 62 copper coins as the inventory has a quantity counter. I also tried to loot the splatter of gel on the ground but the inventory could only get three handfuls of gel in the inventory.
I mentally highlighted the inventory square where the shortsword was in the hope it would give me a description, inventories like these always have little description, but all I got was 'copper shortsword - 5 melee damage'. Hmm, it's made out of copper huh...
Then as if the planets aligned everything just started clicking the meadow, the slime, the three pieces of gel looted, and finally the shitty copper shortsword. I have been transmigrated to not just any place, but to Terraria, a peak game, but as an isekai destination, it was so bad, honestly one of the worse places.
I look up at the clear sky and shout "SCREW YOU ISEKAI GODS!"
