Work Text:

“Cheonhee~!” Jaegal Lin grinned as he greeted his baby.

It was early morning, and Jaegal Lin was up and ready for the day. Baby Cheonhee blinked sleepily, rubbing his eyes and squinting at the sunlight.

“Masher,” baby Cheonhee greeted. “Mowning…”

“Morning, baby!”

Baby Cheonhee smiled at his Master and sat up slowly.

“Mash-ter, why, so hap-py?” Baby Cheonhee asked, raising an eyebrow at Jaegal’s cheery face.

Jaegal’s smile grew wider and he crouched down to face his baby.

“Don’t you remember what day it is today, Hee?” Jaegal replies. “It’s the day we’ve been waiting for for so long!”

Baby Cheonhee tilted his head questioningly.

“Hm?”

Jaegal Lin pat his disciple’s hair.

“Today, Master will let you try many different kinds of clothes… Yooho said that all the clothes I have ordered are here. They’re all customized for you, baby!”

“Oh,” Baby Cheonhee nodded in understanding.

Jaegal Lin’s face was full of joy and anticipation.

Ever since Cheonhee turned into a baby, Jaegal Lin had ordered Yooho to call in professional tailors to make baby clothes and various costumes for his baby to wear. Not only that, he had even ordered the tailors to make matching clothes for him and Cheonhee!!

And he had already marked today as the day dedicated to Cheonhee’s dressing up session! He had a clear schedule, and Jaegal was determined that no matter what happened in the clinic today, he wouldn’t leave his baby. Today was solely for dressing up his disciple in the best, most luxurious clothing in the Murim!

Jaegal Lin rubbed his hands and hugged his disciple.

They were going to have so much fun!

After breakfast, Jaegal Lin immediately brought Cheonhee to a well-prepared room. Inside, there were piles of neatly-folded clothes in every corner of the room. The clothes had been divided by Yooho into several groups. For instance, there was a section of winter clothes, a section of informal clothes, a section of pajamas, another section of cute costumes (Jaegal could not wait to have his disciple try on the bunny-pajamas he had ordered), a separate section for formal clothes, and so on.

A few painters (that Jaegal had hired to paint his cute baby!) were huddled in the room as well, their paint already spread and ready. There were tables and chairs too, along with plates of snacks and fruits in case baby Cheonhee grew hungry. On the side, there was a folding screen and a soft cushion — a separate area for Jaegal to help Cheonhee change his clothes.

Last but not least, of course, there was a mirror.

Everything was prepared for this ‘dressing up session’. Baby Cheonhee looked at the numerous clothes and his small mouth fell open.

“Sho, sho much, Mash-ter!” Baby Cheonhee gasped in awe, and Jaegal felt a twinge of pride.

“Of course, baby! Whatever you want, you can have! If there’s any clothes you don’t like, I’ll throw it away right away. If you like any of the clothes, just pick them. It’s all yours,” Jaegal declared domineeringly.

Baby Cheonhee simply gaped at his Master and the numerous clothes that were strewn around.

“Alright,” Jaegal set his disciple down on a cushion and he made a spreading motion with his hands.

“These are all yours, disciple. Pick one, and we’ll try it right away.”

“O-kay, Mashter!” Baby Cheonhee’s eyes twinkled, eager to try the clothes.

The ‘Dressing Up Day’ and officially begun!

Baby Cheonhee first picked an item from the ‘winter’ section. It was a warm, dark blue robe embroidered with silver dragons dancing on clouds. The needle-work was intricate and elegant, and when Cheonhee wore the robe, Jaegal Lin smirked.

“You look dashing as always, Hee,” Jaegal Lin declared, and baby Cheonhee giggled and cooed.

“Dash-ing! Like, Mash-ter!” Cheonhee echoed, and Jaegal Lin pinched his disciple’s cheek.

“What a sweet mouth, hm?”

“Hee, jus, like, Mash-ter!” Cheonhee said again, and Jaegal Lin nodded.

“Yes, yes… You’re just like Master… See, both of us are wearing blue now.”

Baby Cheonhee cooed in satisfaction.

When Jaegal Lin placed Cheonhee in front of a mirror, baby Cheonhee’s mouth fell into an ‘o’ and he patted the robe, looking at his own clothes in awe.

“Dat, ish Hee?” Baby Cheonhee asked, pointing at the mirror.

Jaegal Lin nodded, beaming at his baby.

“Yes, baby. That’s you. Do you like it?” Jaegal Lin asked.

Baby Cheonhee giggled and touched the mirror, unaccustomed to seeing himself.

“Yesh!”

Jaegal Lin smiled in relief.

“That’s good, baby. As long as you like it.”

The next piece of clothing Cheonhee tried was Jaegal’s choice — of course, Jaegal chose the long-awaited bunny costume that he had picked for Cheonhee.

This bunny costume was like a ‘kigurumi’. It had buttons in the front, extending all the way from the neck to the knee-area, and it even had a hood.

Jaegal felt like the style of clothing was unconventional (it was certainly different form the usual baby clothes in Murim), but it was cute and easy to put on his baby.

The material of the costume was soft and warm, the clothing itself was white, and on the hood, there were two bunny ears that flopped adorably.

Baby Cheonhee was cooperative, of course, lifting his arms and letting Jaegal Lin put the clothes on him. Once Jaegal finished buttoning the clothes, and took a step back to admire his disciple.

Baby Cheonhee was too cute!!!

“Oh heavens above…” Jaegal Lin muttered, admiring the handiwork.

Jaegal Lin had moved baby Cheonhee out of the ‘fitting room’ and into the main room, where the painters were. As Jaegal admired ‘bunny Cheonhee’, the painters were working furiously to capture the moment.

“…You look way too suitable wearing this, Hee,” Jaegal sighed, placing his hand on Cheonhee’s head and touching the flopping ears.

Cheonhee, though, did not know how adorable he was wearing this costume. He was alright with the clothes, but he didn’t like the hood, pushing it off his head again and again. Each time he pushed it off, Jaegal’s sneaky hands would pull the hood back on top of Cheonhee’s head, and Cheonhee would pout.

“You don’t seem to like the hood, Hee… Why’s that?” Jaegal asked, looking at his disciple’s expression.

Cheonhee stuck out his bottom lip.

“Not, feel Mash-ters, hand!”

“Ah?” For a moment, Jaegal didn’t know what Cheonhee meant.

He adjusted the hood on Cheonhee and patted his disciple’s head again.

Cheonhee whined.

“See? See!! Dis!” Cheonhee complained, putting one hand on his head.

“Dis,” Cheonhee pointed to the hood and yanked it down, “Bad! Hee, not feel Mashters, hand!”

“Oh….” Realization dawned on Jaegal Lin, and he chuckled.

His disciple didn’t like the hood because with the hood on, when Jaegal pet his head, Cheonhee couldn’t feel it like usual!

“Hahaha, you’re truly so… cute,” Jaegal mused.

“Hmph,” Cheonhee huffed, pushing away the hood again.

Jaegal shook his head.

“Baby, can you put on the hood again, please? Master wants to see you wearing it again…. Just once more, okay?” Jaegal coaxed.

Seeing his Master like this, baby Cheonhee nodded his head.

“O-kay!”

If it’s for Master, then it’s okay!

With the hood on his head, baby Cheonhee blinked adorably, turning to face his Master and pursing his lips. Cheonhee’s doe-like, watery eyes, slight pout, and small hands made him look like a small, nervous bunny.

Jaegal Lin stood still for a few seconds, processing how adorable his baby was.

“Mash-ter…” Baby Cheonhee called.

“Mash! Ter!” Baby Cheonhee called again, rather aggrievedly.

Jaegal Lin woke up from his stupor and coughed awkwardly.

“Yes, yes… sorry, baby. You just look too cute,” Jaegal smiled.

Baby Cheonhee, with a solemn look on his face, tugged on Jaegal’s sleeve.

“Mash-ter, ish, Hee, fem-me, fa-tal?” Baby Cheonhee’s face was scrunched up in the most serious, earnest expression ever.

Jaegal Lin choked on his own saliva.

“F-femme fatale?” Jaegal Lin repeated.

“Yesh,” Baby Cheonhee nodded sternly. “Ish, Hee, too, cute?”

Jaegal Lin didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“B-baby, no… Pfft, hahaha…”

Seeing how serious Cheonhee’s face was, though, Jaegal bit back his laughter.

“Don’t worry, baby,” Jaegal said, putting on a serious demeanor. “You’re not a femma fatale…”

“Where did you even hear that word anyways, hm?” Jaegal asked, and baby Cheonhee shrugged.

“Dunno.”

“Hmm…” Jaegal would check that later on. For now, though, he satisfied himself with looking at Cheonhee’s adorable, bunny-like cheeks.

“Cute,” Jaegal muttered again, and his heart melted at Cheonhee’s sweet, sweet smile.

God, he loved his disciple.

Jaegal did not stop dressing up baby Cheonhee — they continued trying on different clothes. There were cute onesies, shirts with various patterns and pictures, soft cotton pajamas, and even overalls.

Trying each and every item of clothing was exhausting for baby Cheonhee, and over time, it was clear that his excitement had faded and he was cranky. Seeing his baby’s tired eyes, Jaegal would not force his baby anymore and carried his disciple to have a nap.

In any case, they could continue later….
