Rarepair Fest Day 21: Roommates

Work Text:

Things didn't work out so well after the shikigami attack. Both Gojo and Geto agreed things were going to get worse if they were to proceed with the escort mission. So ultimately, the two decided to stay close to the school until the bounty finally died down. But while Geto chose to live at a nearby apartment, Gojo opted for something a little more...inconvenient.

"Who's ready to party?!"

That was the sound Riko heard when Gojo barged into her dorm room with and armful of snacks and sodas from vending machines. What was originally a fun night with her friends had taken a turn for the most frustrating. Because yes, her own bodyguard decided to bunk with her in the same dorm. She was initially frustrated and often yelled at Gojo to leave, but after weeks of dealing with his antics, she became apathetic with his goofiness, much like tonight when every single one of her friends cheered over the self-proclaimed handsome pizza delivery man.

So while all of her friends were gushing over Gojo much like when he crashed choir practice, Riko was watching the whole scene unfold with a monotone expression on her face. Massive amounts of squealing ensured as the girls complimented him nonstop, all while he handed out snack bags and soda cans to each of them like he was some kind of host club attendant. Then things started to get annoying when they girls decided to play truth or dare, which was just some excuse to ask Gojo questions about himself.

But suddenly, he was given the option to play.

"Okay, Amanai," Gojo decided. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth," Riko answered with a disgruntled expression. She had a feeling he would have coaxed her to do something stupid if she said 'dare'. There was no way she was going to fall for that trap.

"Are you always a downer during sleepovers or this just for tonight?" Gojo asked.

Well that was a rude thing to say. So instead of answering, Riko just simply kept her mouth shut as she turned to face away the roommate who has been tormenting her for weeks. Too bad he thought otherwise.

"Dare, it is!" Gojo decided. He pointed at his own face. "You gotta leave a mark right here."

Riko's eyes widened in alarm as she could hear her friends 'ooooo'-ing at the sudden dare, her gaze switching over to her bodyguard's smug grin. Why would Gojo come up with such an idea? She heard Geto say he was a lightweight drinker and she was pretty sure there was no alcohol in these sodas. Why would there be, anyway? These were from nearby vending machines.

And yet... Why a kiss? Riko barely knew Gojo and his initial impression was less than stellar. He was cocky and entitled, kind of like he was a spoiled little kid in a young man's body. He also acted like he knew every female would fawn over him if that little disruption during choir class was any indication. And here he was, lowering his sunglasses like he was expecting the same reaction.

Then again, it wouldn't hurt to experiment while she was still herself...

"...Fine," Riko sighed. So without any hesitation, she leaned towards Gojo and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "There. Happy?"

Gojo responded with an amused laugh. "What's so funny?" Riko demanded.

"You call that a kiss?" Gojo asked in response. He cheekily pointed at his lips. "'Cause I think you missed."

"That's all you're getting!" Riko insisted, her face turning red. However, it seemed her friends were a little curious about the implications.

"Are you sure he's just a cousin?" Kiku, a brunette girl, asked.

Now that got Riko to shut up, remembering the lie she spoke during music class. Yes, she did blurt out that Gojo was her cousin, but that was only because she was mortified when he ran into the church shouting her name. Her friends and teacher gushing over him didn't help, either. So thanks to that impulsive panic, others knew Satoru Gojo was Riko's cousin.

Now how was she going to explain why that same 'cousin' was teasing for a kiss?

No wait, he already beat her to the punch.

"So that's what you told your friends," Gojo said. "That I'm apparently 'just a cousin' and not a bodyguard assigned to project you."

Riko's face went red as her friends swarmed her.

"No way! Your cousin was a bodyguard this whole time?!"

"You're so lucky!"

"I want a handsome bodyguard, too!"

This would continue on for the rest of the evening. And this would also be the last sleepover Riko ever hosted. And it was all because of that goofball idiot of a man who decided to bunk with her.
