It doesn't have to be LOVE

Notes:

Hey! Author here, just a little warning, this story used to be just random head cannons me and my cousin made about my pets, or more specifically if my pets were human. Don't expect to much, this was purely written for fun and english isn't my first language. I hope you enjoy <3

Chapter Text

Christal pov:
To be honest I don’t know how it happened but here I am again hosting another party for my friends. I’m not much of a party girl, but when I host the parties at my place I can make sure my friends are well taken care of.
A really familiar girl was swaying in my direction slurring my name. “chrisssss… I think- I think I’m in love again. He’s perfect!” That is the type of Friend I was talking about. “Abby, You know I don’t like to judge your, how do I say- responsibility, but for how long have you known that *perfect* guy.” “I’ve only just met him today. But believe me. He’s my Dream man. Those perfect sky blue eyes, the ashy blond hair, his deep raspy voice. Chrissy, I’m sure he’s the one!” As expected of my perfectly sane best friend, falling in love with a guy she’s only just met, here we go again. “He was just standing there…” My mind started to tune her out.
I listened to my best friend rant for at least half an hour when another pair of familiar faces enters my view. It’s Jamie, the last of our trio of Besties and her Boyfriend Laine. They have been dating for over two years now, so I got used to him tacking along, if it wasn’t our girls night that is. I’ve known Abby and Jamie since pre-school, they are my ride or die. I don’t really remember how we became friends, but to be honest, now I can’t even think about a world without either of them. If we aren’t together then it always feels like a piece of myself is missing, like an unfinished puzzle, a peanut butter jam sandwich without the jam, just incomplete.
As Abby is continuing her drunken ramble about her latest conquest, I can’t help but smile. She was always so dramatic, especially when it came to men. I can only imagine what this new guy she was gushing about looked like, but I had a feeling that he was probably just as ordinary as the rest.
Jamie and Laine had just joined us, and Jamie gave me a knowing smirk. She knew how I felt about Abby's revolving door of love interests. “Looks like Abby's got a new victim,” Jamie said, raising her eyebrows at me. I nodded, rolling my eyes. “It's always the same with her. She falls in love with every guy she meets, and then she forgets about him a week later.” Jamie rolled her eyes in return. “You'd think she'd learn by now, but she just keeps falling for the same type of guy over and over again. It's like she can't help herself.”
Laine piped up from behind us, “Maybe she just hasn't met the right one yet.” “Perhaps, but it still gets tiring, hearing her gush about a new guy every day.” I sigh as I turn to Jamie and Laine, wanting to change the topic. “So, what have you guys been up to?” “Just chillin’ talking to people here and there. But I could use a drink.” Laine nods his head “You’re right Babe, Let’s go get drinks.” “We’ll be at the bar if you need us, make sure to get our help if Abby get’s worse.” Jamie says as she turns to me. “Alright have fun you guys.” I watch Jamie and Laine exiting in direction of the bar, Abby trailing right after them, presumably to the dance floor. As Abby was already far gone I decided to follow her, to make sure she was going to be okay. Abby notices me trailing her, and walks up to me. “Come on, come dance with me.” She slurs. “Yeah, no… I’m good.” “oh, just once? One song. You’re always such a party pooper, always just standing to the side while we’re having fun.” “You know I don’t like dancing.” Abby rolls her eyes. “whatever *party pooper*” With that Abby walks over to the dance floor. I just stand to the side, chuckling to myself. It was always the same discussion over and over. I make sure to stand in a distance not to far away from Abby, so I could step in if anything were to happen to her.
As I’m watching from a distance, Abby was having a great time on the dance floor as she moved her body to the music. She is in her own world again, lost in the beat and completely carefree. I couldn't help but feel a little envious of her ability to let loose and have fun, while I was being my usual self, observing and making sure my friends were okay.

Liam pov:
Another girl is approaching me again. She is not particularly good looking, average at most. But I guess this will have to do for one night. Her figure was decent at least, nice curves and slim as well. “Hello Beautifull, what is a girl like you doing here alone. Are you perhaps looking for someone to accompany you?” “I thought you’d never ask!” The girl grabbed my hand like it was the most normal thing to do. Disgusting those girls who think they can get whatever guy they want just because they are a little pretty. “I haven’t ask your name yet, mi lady.” “It’s Tracy, what’s your name?” “It’s Liam, but you probably know that already.” The girl starts to blush and looks away. Like I had expected another girl that had heard of me from her friends and just wanted to sleep with me, but that was just right for me. I could never get with a girl like that for more than one night. I guess I’ll roll with it for now.
The girl was giggling for the next hours, I’m just playing along, giving her compliments and acting like I was interested in her and not just her body. Then, finally my savoir came along. Max my best friend, my ride or die was approaching. “Brooo, where’ve you been… I’ve been searching for you.” “sorry dude, I was spending time with this beautiful lady over here.” I gesture to Tracy, I know Max knows what I’m really thinking, we’ve known each other since we were four and he knows everything about me. I turn to Tracy and gesture to Max. “Tracy, That is my friend max, I hope you don’t mind me talking to him for a bit.” “Of course not.” I can hear the hesitancy in her voice, she would have preferred to have me for herself. “It won’t be long, I promise Beautiful.”
Max can't help but roll his eyes as I refer to this girl as "beautiful". He knows I was just playing her, like I did with so many others before. “Sure, go ahead, bro,” Max says with a sigh. “I'll just grab a drink while you're busy.” I flash him a look, saying as much as *don’t leave me alone with this girl, I absolutely do not want to talk to her right now.* Max understands and rolls his eyes again, but staying for my sake. I somehow manage to survive the next 10 minutes. Trying to focus on whatever Tracy was saying, occasionally glancing over to my best friend. I decide to go and get a drink, trying to put some distance between me and the girl for a bit. “I’ll go get a drink, you want one, mi lady.” She chuckles at the name. “No, I’m good, but Thank you.” I turn to Max. “you?” “Nah, I’m good.” “Alright then.”
I walk over to the bar, passing the dance floor on the way there. As I am making my way through the crowd, a girl catches my eye. She is way more beautiful than the girl I had talked to before. She looks like she is having fun, dancing and holding her drink. I decide to walk up to her and, maybe I can get her for the night, then I won’t have to spend so much time with that annoying basic girl. I tap the girl on the shoulder and she turns around, she obviously had a lot to drink already but I don’t mind. “Hello beautiful, what are you doing here alone? Are you perhaps up for a dance?” “Emm… no I’m not… You’re pretty, but not my type.” She’s slurring slightly and is obviously not interested in me but I’ll change that. I wrap my arm around her waist. “Oh come one sweetie, we’ll have fun together.” She’s trying to pull away from me. “N- no!” “You’re making me sad, just-“ suddenly another girl is standing next to me, she grabs my arm and stares at me coldly with admittedly gorgeous eyes. “Don’t touch her, She already made clear that she doesn’t want you. So, back the fuck off.” Uhh, a feisty one. I remove my arm from the first girls waist and smirk slightly. “Aww, look at you having a nice friend to protect you.” “come on Abby, We’re going.” “Not so fast girls. I’m sorry I harassed her, let me buy you two a drink, as an apology.” “Not necessary.” The girl I now know is called Abby tugs at the other girls shirt as she’s saying that. “But why not Chris?? I want a free drink.” She whines. “I’ll buy you one, but we’re not staying with him.” She points at me. “Feisty, I like it.” “oh, shut up!” Well I guess I don’t have a chance with this one, but her friend still seems approachable. I turn to Abby. “Isn’t it better to be bought a drink by a handsome men instead of your boring friend.” The girl is looking at me, like I just killed her family. “Wh-“ “Only I am allowed to call her boring, get away from us.” She’s still slightly slurring but seems way more sober out of the sudden. “Calm down girl, I didn’t mean it. So, how about the drink.” “I told you several times and I’ll tell you only one more time, if you don’t back of then I’ll kick you out of the house. This is my party, so fuck of.” “Jesus… I guess I’ll leave the two of you for now.”
