Work Text:
Kind of funny how fast things can change, huh?
Buck used to want to spend all of his time at the Diaz residence, yet now he's actually living there he doesn't want to spend any time there at all. It's pretty fucked up, actually.
After splitting with Tommy, Buck had wanted to get back with him for ages. Then they slept together again, and Buck hasn't found himself thinking of Tommy since. Not once.
He'd never imagined a world where Christopher wouldn't be around, least not while the kid was still a kid. Then suddenly the kid wasn't so much of a kid anymore, and he wasn't in Buck's life at all; the world he thought he knew, forever changed.
He never, ever used to miss Eddie because he didn't get the time for that! The guy is Buck's best friend which meant Buck would spend most of his time in Eddie's company—both in and outside of work. Then Eddie left, and now Buck misses him like he'd miss both lungs.
As for the last few days, he's been so sure that everybody must be going certifiably batshit insane after them saying they think Buck is in love with Eddie... Like, the fuck? That is, until he's going back over those particular conversations and having the realisation that nobody actually said those words to him. Nowhere close to that. He just—got there all on his own.
Yeah, it's definitely funny how fast things can change—and another definitely definite thing is how Buck is the very last person to be laughing about it.
