A flash of light was seen by no one outside of Hogwarts' front gate. It would not be until the Ravenclaw team went out for their Sunday practice would the object be discovered. The item was a strange purple rectangle with strange metal on one end. Written in gold ink was “To my BFF”.
A second year muggleborn saw Lily Luna Potter holding it and was able to identify it as a flash drive. Another was able to identify the acronym possibly for someone's best friend. No one in Ravenclaw recognized the flash drive as their own. The same second year recommended checking on a computer to see if anything on it could help identify the owner or who it was for.
Lily did not know where one would be able to find such a device since only radios were the closest technology that functioned in the castle.
It was through the Green Market of Gossip that Lily was able to find the closest computer: the train station. Apparently since the entire system moved to electronics on the muggle side it was decided that the magical one needed to function the same way.
Lily took her chance the following weekend in order to not rouse suspicion. Sadly, a couple did suspect and followed her out. When Lily explained why she was not heading towards hogmeades the duo decided to join here. Well in Scorpius words " You don't know how to work that computer contraption without me so we must make haste."
Lily, Al, and Scorpius arrived at the station and found the computer. After a bit of fidgeting (and magicking) the flash drive was in. On the screen there was a window full of audio files. Albus decided to click the first one titled “Veela’s Nest.”
