Chapter Text
Camera shutters are heard all over the place. Many paparazzi and photographers shout Love's name to get noticed and get a good photo. The press is also rude and asks her a lot of questions. She was used to it; she had dreamed of this. Though there were times she wished she didn't, she still loved the spotlight.
Everything Love has now, she worked hard for.
She put in blood, sweat, and tears for her career, image, and dream of becoming an artist.
There were times when she almost fainted on set, there were also times when she nearly starved herself due to extreme body insecurity.
Everything she did for her career, she worked hard for.
But she would never have lasted if it weren't for Milk.
The two women crossed paths while they were in college and studying; they became friends, and they dated until they graduated. That wasn't easy either, especially since people weren't open-minded about a lesbian couple.
There were times when they almost broke up or their relationship itself seemed to be getting in the way of their respective dreams, but they managed.
During those eight years, they had been through a lot, fought a lot, and cried a lot of tears, but they couldn't leave each other.
Milk was her rock, she was the reason she had everything in her life right now, if it weren't for Milk, who always looked after her, helped her, and supported her, Love thought she wouldn't be here now.
And for that, Love was extremely grateful to have Milk in her life.
She couldn't wait to see her again, after four months of shooting in Singapore. She was proud to say they've been together for as long as eight years and have matured enough that they can go on without seeing each other due to their busy schedules, but it's still different when you touch the one you love personally, it's as if it assures her that no matter how much time has passed, Milk would always be there, hugging her.
"Miss Love, are the rumors about you and Gun Atthaphan true? Are you guys together?" a reporter asked her.
"No. We're very close friends."
"Are you still single, ma'am?"
"Yes."
And the guards pushed the paparazzi blocking their way again so she could pass.
Though sometimes, even if Love already has everything, she can't help but wish they could tell everyone about them.
Hopefully they'll be accepted. Hopefully, they won't be discriminated against. Hopefully, she can brag to the whole world that the woman she loves is Milk.
—
After parking the car in front of their mansion, Love immediately came out with her suitcase and gifts.
"Auntie, is Milk home yet?" Love asked as she entered and was greeted by the old woman.
The old woman shook her head, "Not yet, she's going to spend the night at the company again, doesn't she know you're home yet?"
Love sighed and shook her head. Typical Milk buries herself into work whenever Love's away because there'll be no one to urge her to take breaks. Love purses her lips, takes out her cell phone from her bag, and calls her girlfriend.
"Auntie, this is a gift for you." She gestured to the bags, sorting out the things she bought for Milk.
Then Milk answered her call right away.
"Baby, are you at home now?" Milk hurriedly asked.
"I just arrived. Come home, baby." She temporarily put the cellphone away and covered it.
"Auntie, you can serve it later." She requested that when Milk got home, right away, she wouldn't have to wait any longer, and that it would cool down just right so they wouldn't get burned while eating.
"I missed you. Just wait, I'll be right there." Milk replied
Love smiled, hearing the other person's hurrying. "I missed you, too, Milk. Drive safe."
After thirty minutes, a car had arrived, and the door opened, revealing Milk, who was hurrying to hug her girlfriend.
Four months without being able to hug or kiss. Love was hell, especially since naturally clingy, affectionate Milk was, even if the people around her who weren't close enough to her seemed to think she was a cold woman, and she was too absorbed in her work.
Physical touch was their shared love language.
"You didn't eat your lunch earlier! Don’t try to deny it, I know you!" Love turned to give her girlfriend a pointed look but Milk hugged Love first so it didn't work out. "You can't do this everytime I'm away."
"I missed you, please don't scold me," Milk pouts, resting her chin on the younger's shoulder.
"Okay, okay," Love pinched her girlfriend's cheek in joy and excitement. "Let's eat, I'm hungry."
As soon as they sat down, Milk immediately asked Love about Singapore.
"Your skin got tanner, baby. You look good." Milk commented, observing Love's face.
"Yeah, it's hot there, as in. I'm slightly cooked; what if I turn into steak?"
"You're so crazy." Milk laughed. "What do you even think about that?"
Love shrugs, "Dunno, I just felt it, you're such a cute baby."
"You're so cheesy."
"Didn't you miss me just now?" Love pouted.
"I don't miss you anymore," Milk sticks her tongue out at Love.
"Stop it or I'll swallow it?" Love challenged.
"Okay." As Milk was about to stand up, Love's eyes widened, and she immediately shook her head.
Why is it that whenever she tries to tease Milk, she always ends up losing? Unfair!
"Yeah, just kidding! We're eating, what's wrong with you?" She pinched Milk's side.
"You started it first," Milk laughed, then she continued, "Still getting shy? Pretty sure we've done worse." She smirks.
She thanked all the gods she knew that there was no one in the dining room besides them. Since they always eat alone compared to their staff in the mansion.
"You're a! We've been together for less than three hours, and you're going to kill me right away." She felt like all her blood had moved to her cheeks and ears, and her face reddened.
"You started it." Milk laughed.
"Okay, let's eat again," Love whines and pouts her lips. If she continues, she might explode.
Milk was still laughing at her, and just as she was about to hit her laughing bride, the door suddenly opened.
"Lovveeeeee!!" Suddenly, she entered the quiet dining room. "I missed you so much!" And then she went to the seat where she was sitting.
At one point, she wondered if it was a mistake to give her best friend the keys to their house.
Milk turns to Love with a confused look, "I don't remember telling her?"
But before she could answer that, she didn't even know how their friend knew, their visitor immediately sat down next to love.
"You! You didn't say you were home!" tu huff, turned frustrated to milk. "I went to the company to say hello to your babies, but she didn't say anything, when I asked your secretary, that's when I was informed!" tu complained.
"Wow," Milk grabbed a spare spoon and slapped her close friend, making sure the blow was strong. "What's with the babies?" It's Your Goal!"
"Ouch!" Tu complains again, she withdraws her body away from Love. "Brutal! You just didn't tell me about it, and now you're abusing me."
"I forgot, I'm sorry!" She apologized to her friend, but she had forgotten about it.
"Just say you were too preoccupied thinking about your future wifey that's why you didn't inform me" tu scoffed.
Milk gave tu a deadpanned look and said, "I know you're just coming here to eat, tu." Gave a mango on Love. "You keep on eating, you might turn into food."
Tu grabs the mango on love's hand. "I am what I eat." tu sticks her tongue out at Love.
"You're like a dog and a cat." Love laughed at the two friends.
“Wow, you talk, Love," tu smirked
"Hep! Stop it. I'm hungry." At the end of the day, she knew she wouldn't like the outcome, and the two of them were going to tease her.
Luckily, tu didn't repeat that topic, she was too distracted by the food served on the table.
"Anyways, how was Singapore? Hot?" tu said, nodding her head. "And why is your hair like that? Are you going to get it black again?"
"Yep, I think it's not looking good on me."
"Bullshit, you look good in everything." Milk compliments, love smiles.
"You are so gay," Tu said.
"You," she nudged her best friend. Why am I friends with her again? "Are you done with the shooting?"
"Yep, I'm so glad it was done. I'm scared I'll keep seeing ghosts in my sleep because of the series." Tu sighed, then went back to eat.
"I'm sure Prim will be there to comfort you, so don't worry." Now, Love was the one to tease.
"Ah!" Tu choked on her food and took a quick sip of water, then turned her gaze and slapped love on her arm. "You're going to kill me again, prim…. we're just friends."
Friends, but that's where it comes from. Think of it as love, wow! That would have been the case with Milk.
"With benefits?" Casually she added, took a sip of more water afterwards, and tu laughed and became even more alarmed.
"No!"
The two of them laughed, happy to be alone and to be with tu.
