Work Text:
Jackson W had known Jackson V forever, and he'd loathed him since that faithful day when they'd met.
Nothing changed, all through high school. W hated when V took the same classes as him, when he did the same extracurriculars as him, anything.
One of these extracurriculars was the STEM club. Mr A's Super STEM club that he'd talked up until everyone in the class was excited to join it. Even Jackson W had been excited to join it. He went home after they'd got the consent form, gave it to his mum, begged her to sign, and talked about nothing else until Wednesday two weeks later, when the first session took place.
He went in, elated. Exhilarated. Finally, something of his own, where he could just work and not be disrupted by anyone. And then? The first face he saw when he got in was V's smirking face, and his mood instantly lowered to the point of no return.
"Jackson 1.0! How lovely to see you here!" he'd said mockingly. With his stupidly annoying perfect hair and his annoyingly stupid perfect face.
Jackson had ruined STEM club for him. But he still found himself going every week.
Why was he everywhere? The question plagued W's mind for most of his high school life. The other Jackson's face popped up everywhere, no matter where he was. Eating lunch near the back gate of the school. In almost all of his stupid lessons.
There had had to be an explanation for this, right?
Well, there was.
Jackson V was gay.
He'd never said it aloud before, scared of what others would think. But he'd known for a long time. And it had only been reinforced when he'd glimpsed W at high school transition day. V fell in love, then and there. He'd fallen hard for those braces, those eyes, that gorgeous hair.
But would W even like him back? Probably not. JW had had girlfriends. There was no way he was gay. But it didn't stop JV from thinking about JW, dreaming, wishfully. He was a little bit delusional, but didn't gay boys have to be? He disguised his obvious gayness behind annoying and kind of racist comments, seeming like just a straight, basic white boy. But he wasn't straight.
He'd disguised it for about five years. But now it was Year 12, and he was running out of time to tell JW he was desperately in love with him, that he had been for the last five years. People didn't really go to classes in the last year of school. But Jackson and Jackson had one, one faithful, one precious hour of time together.
STEM Club.
Jackson wanted to tell him. But he didn't. He just planted himself firmly next to JW and slung an arm around the back of his chair.
"Yo, 1.0. What's going on?" He felt as if he was wearing a sign that said 'I'M GAY AND IN LOVE WITH YOU, JACKSON W!!!' and ringing a goddamn bell.
JW was sick of this. Why the hell was V everywhere?
"What do you want, Jackson? Why do you have to bother me every chance you get?" He rolled his eyes, and V wanted to make him roll his eyes at him again.
"What, I can't talk to my second-favourite Jackson? You wound me." V grinned at W.
"I don't care. Eff off."
"No, but seriously, I need to talk to you." Jackson made the executive decision to just do it. "Can we go to the supply closet? Need your help to find something. No one has instincts like you, Jacksiepie."
JW was confused. What was he on about? Was that a tone of seriousness? A compliment? A nickname that wasn't 1.0? From Jackson V?
No effing way.
"Um... sure, Jacksiepie," he repeated the nickname sarcastically, but got up and followed V to the supply pantry next to Mr. A's office. JV slammed the door behind them when they were both in. "So... what do you need? And I do have awesome instincts, if I do say so myself."
Jackson V could feel the nerves flowing in. "Uh... well, I need to tell you something."
"Hm?"
"Uh..."

"Jackson, I..." V started.
W could feel that this was bigger than just a stupid comment. But what?
V took a deep breath. "Jackson W, I'm in love with you. I have been in love with you since we met. Please, if you don't like me back, leave right now. I can't bear it..."\

JW blushed. He was so confused. Did he miss an episode? Or a whole damn season?
"Jackson, I..." The more Jackson W thought about it, the more he realised. He loved V back.
"Jackson, I think I love you too."
V knew it then. This would be forever.
They fell into each other's arms and hoped the supply pantry was soundproof.
Jackson W and Jackson V graduated, went to university in the McDonald's basement. Then they married, with their favourite classmates as bridesmaids and groomsmen. They adopted fourteen beautiful babies, and grew old together. They even died holding hands.
So that just goes to show, being gay leads to lifelong love. Be gay, children.
