Will woke up suddenly. It’d been two days since Steve went missing. Everyone was worried. With the Upside Down having shown no activity since Eddie’s death, everyone was on edge. Steve hadn’t been doing well at first, but none of them thought he’d do something like this.
Will. Please say you can hear me!
Will did not know where this voice was coming from. It sounded like it was in his own head. He figured he should call the others immediately and tell them what was happening. It might be a sign that something’s happening.

Byers! You wonderful, traumatized, human being! I need you too…
Will never heard what the voice said. It faded out before it could finish. It sounded familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it.
Will never did tell the others about the voice. It hadn’t come back. Will visited Max in the hospital and talked to her about the conversations she and Steve had shared before he disappeared. He found himself visiting Eddie’s grave and escaping to Steve’s house more often than usual.
