1. Bad phrasing
Ryusui usually wasnt a patient man. If he sees something he wants he takes it. But this time he decided to put his want on hold till they rebuild the new world. But he was losing patience.
He wanted Ukyo as his boyfriend.
Not only was he very attractive but Ukyo was smart and kind. He was good with the young ones and had the cutest laugh Ryusui ever heard. He was also a strong fighter and dependable. And they bonded quite well over there time. Often sharing laughs and thoughts. So he was going to shoot his shot.
He strode up to Ukyo who was on deck with Senku and the others. Ukyo turned and gave him a curious smile.
"Ukyo, once we rebuild the new world im sure you know my plans to own the world. To do so I need a capable crew by my side but even more than that my right hand man. I would like you to be my first mate and date me!" Ryusui ended it with a snap of his fingers.
Silence overtook the ship as Ukyo processed what he just said. Ukyo felt his eyebrow tick and he gave him the fakest smile ever.
"Not a chance," he said and he turned to walk away.
"..." Silence again.
"Haha!" Ryusui turned and snapped his fingers. "I wont give up on acquiring you Ukyo!" He knew Ukyo heard him.
"Even I know that confessions sucked," said Senku.
"Indeed it was not the est-bey. Honestly probably the worst one," said Gen as he walked away as well.

Gen found Ukyo downstairs in his sleeping area laying down with his hat over his face.
"Hey Ukyo, so that was quite a mess up there huh?" He said.
"I dont know what your talking about," said Ukyo monotoned.
"His confession definitely sucked but why did you say no? I thought you too had good chemistry.
"I thought so too honestly. But you heard him. Im first out of many he wants to 'acquire'. Im not interested in being in his harem," Ukyo huffed out.
"Ah, now I see. Oh I didnt even catch that. Leave it your ceptional-exay hearing. Although i doubt he meant it like that." Said Gen.
"He did, thats just the way he is. Now if you wouldnt mind id like to be alone please."
"Okay," said Gen. He sighed in his head as he left the room. 'These two idiots are so into each other.'
2. Flowers for all
Ryusui paced in his cabin as he ran through ideas to win Ukyos heart. He didnt expect Ukyo to outright so no. He then remembered something he saw in one of the ship storage rooms. He went down to where it was and after searching found several piles of flowers. He grabbed a handful and arranged them into a bouquet and went off to search.
He found Ukyo in the main room on the ship talking with Gen. He kept the bouquet behind his back and approached getting there attention.
"Ukyo someone said flowers have always been known to be beautiful but clearly they have never met you!" He then revealed the flowers and placed them in ukyos hands and covered his with his own. "Will you date me?"
There was a blush on Ukyo's face and he took a small sniff of the flowers with a small smile. Before he could answer Gen spoke.
"Wow how did you bring those on board?" Asked Gen.
"Oh i found them in an old storage room. If you want some Gen I can grab you some too in fact theres plenty for everyone to have a bouquet from me!"
A tense silence fell over them before Ukyo broke it
"Here Gen you can have these instead. Since clearly they arent special to only me, " said Ukyo with another fake smile. He then turned and walked away leaving a confused Ryusui with an awkward feeling Gen holding flowers.
"Ryusui you super suck at this," said Gen while internally facepalming.
3. Writing a letter
Taking Gens words to heart, Ryusui decided instead of word vomiting he was going to write a letter confessing to Ukyo. This way he couldnt mess it up! So he sat at a desk with a brush ink and paper and he began to write.
"My dearest Ukyo," wait. That wasnt good. He scratched it out and wrote "Ukyo," which looked better.
"Our time together may have been less than a year. But it feels much longer to me. You make me smile and laugh and you have such a cute face and voice. Your smile lights up the room and I know the past couple days have been horrible and i apologize for it. I am not good at these types of things, usually i go for one night stands," he breifly debated taking that out but decided against it. "But with you i want to be with forever. And yes only you, no harem. You will be the only one holding my heart. Signed, Ryusui."
"Haha perfect! This will surely work!"
He then went to seal it but knocked over the ink. He panicked and wiped it off the paper and was about to re-read it to see if it smudged when the door opened. He saw Ukyo standing there confused.
"Ukyo perfect timing! Here read this and tell me what you think!" Ryusuis face was bright red as he gave him the letter.
Ukyo took it and began reading it. Ryusui's heart was beating so fast and he was sweating.
"Wow. It looks good. Im sure Yo would love it." He replied with this time no smile. Ryusui even saw a bit of hurt in Ukyo's eyes. Ukyo gave him the letter and left, slamming the door behind him.
Ryusui looked at the letter and gaped in shock. Due the ink it now read
"Yo, time together may have been less than a year, but your smile and laugh are cute. I know the past couple days have been horrible and i apologize. I go for one night stands but you will be the only one holding my heart. Signed, Ryusui."
"Are you kidding me!? NO WAY!" cried Ryusui "Ukyo its not what it seems! Come back!" But he was already gone off the ship and on patrol.
4. One kiss
After his latest fail Ryusui left Ukyo alone for a couple days. And in those couple days they managed to capture Dr. Xena and are now on the run with Stanley chasing them.
Now however he had a plan. He got it from an unexpected place. Dr. Xena himself. He was still tied up but his mouth was freed. He told Ryusui how he and Stanley got together.
"For Stanley I made him a promise and we sealed it with a kiss. After that he was mine," he had said.
So there Ryusui stood. In front of Ukyo at the bow of the ship.
"Ukyo," he stared into his emerald eyes. "I want you to know I will always be by your side. I will cherish you in all the ways you deserve. Be mine forever." He then put his hand on his cheek and pulled him in for a kiss.
Ukyo panicked and turned his head causing him to kiss his cheek. He then pulled away and wiped his face.
"What is your problem!?" Yelled Ukyo making Ryusui jump. "Why do you keep playing with me!? What mind games are you playing? I told you i dont want to be in your harem. Nor do i want flowers you just gave to everyone anyway. Having me read a letter to Yo? Was that to try to make me jealous? You should know by now im falling in love with you so if your trying to break that your doing a great job? Asshole!"
Ukyo then stormed away leaving Ryusui stunned at the outburst.
"Sir, i have some advice for you. I think its time we talk," said his butler Francios.

Ukyo was up top of the boat deck and staring off at the night sky. He was ashamed to also have dried tears on his cheeks. He knew when he first met Ryusui who he was. He knew what kind of greedy man he was. But the months following he showed Ukyo a whole nother side of him. Yes he was greedy but for good reason. He wanted everything so he could make sure everyone was cared for.
Plus he was so smart, rivaling even Senku. Ukyo loved when they discussed puzzles and other random topics. He was also so handsome and attractive. It was easy to see why Ulyo developed a crush.
Which is why it hurt so much this past week. Knowing that the whole time he only thought of him as an object to woo and claim. He hated it so much! He heard footsteps and knew who it was.
"Get the fuck away from me Ryusui," he said with his voice cracking.
"No. I need to clear things up with you. Please give me 5 minutes. Hear me out."
"If i say yes will you leave me alone?"
"If thats what you want yes. I promise."
"Fine. 5 minutes Starting now."
"Ukyo im so sorry. I cant believe this whole week i didnt notice your feelings. I pushed mine on you without giving a thought to you. And even worse I messed up what i truly wanted to say.
Ukyo, you are so breathtakingly amazing. You are funny, smart and so damn cute. I love the way your eyes light up and when you smile I cant help but smile as well. When i asked you to be with me i didnt want you as a harem. And the letter was ruined by ink, I dont like Yo at all. No one else makes my heart beat this way but you. Surely you hear it?
You dont have to forgive me for the hurt I caused you and if you hate me i will accept that. But just know i do love you and only you."
Throughout his speech he made his way to Ukyo and they were now standing in front of each other. Ukyo stared into Ryusui's eyes, searching for any hints of a lies. When he found none he let what he said process and then Ukyo felt his face heat up.
"Y-You really mean it?" Stuttered Ukyo.
"I do," said Ryusui. "So let me ask one more time. No miscommunication, no fumbles. Last time. Ukyo, will you go out with me?"
"..." Ukyo blushed as tears filled his eyes and a couple spilled down his cheeks. He felt like an idiot after this week.
"Yes, ill be your boyfriend. Im sorry I-"
"Apology accepted and forgiven my love," said Ryusui as he smiled brightly.
Ukyo returned it and they hugged each other, Ukyos head over Ryusui's chest. He smiled as he heard the rushed heartbeat saying he was just as nervous as him.
"I really do owe you an apology. I let me doubts cloud my judgement. I didnt think you liked me so i projected my fears. Although i heard every word i didnt listen to them," Ukyo gave him a real smile and looked in Ryusui's eyes.
Ryusui smiled back and brushed back Ukyos hair, and put his hand on his cheek. He then looked down at Ukyos mouth then back up to his eyes. Asking for permission. Ukyo smiled wider and nodded, bring his arms around Ryusui's neck and kissing him.
They heard a bunch of applause and turned to see Senku and the others were watching.
"Finally! Honestly i was losing hope on you both," said Senku. "Now get ready South America is on the horizon and I need you both at top shape."
"Got it!" Hey both said holding hands.
