Work Text:
The weather was painfully gloomy. The street was surprisingly quiet, compared to its usual hustle and bustle, And Gabriel was heading towards his husband's auto shop.
Sebastian and Gabriel had planned to meet at the auto shop so they could head straight away to their dinner date. Fixing his favourite beige jacket, Gabriel took out his keys to open the back door of the shop. But he was confused, noticing how the door lay ajar. A tiny knot started forming in his chest. Gabriel was never a positive thinker. The worst always came first.
Slowly stepping in, he froze right on the spot. The place looked almost unrecognizable. Drawers lay broken on the ground, tools scattered everywhere, and a ripped wire was sparkling electricity hanging right above Henry. Who apparently is the only person in the whole universe that will be able to explain what the bloody hell was happening right now and where is Sebastian!
Gabriel rushed towards Henry, kneeling beside him as he helped him up.
“Henry! What the hell happened here?! And where is Sebastian! Tell me!” Gabriel basically shook Henry awake.
Henry groaned and slowly sat up. Gabriel helped him lean against a broken chair. Henry took a deep breath and started coughing.
“Answer me Henry!” Demanded Gabriel as he ran his hand through his locks. Trying to brush all his worries and doubts away.
Henry stopped coughing as he talked through a ragged breath. “He-he was taken. We got attacked by his uncle, Antonio. Don’t know why and where they took him-”
“And what were you doing? not protecting him! You could have called me!” Gabriel exclaimed in frustration. While Henry just cringed at the tone Gabriel was using.
“I can’t help what could have happened. What we need to do now is find him…” Henry lowered his voice by a degree each passing syllabus, hinting towards something that might face a great deal of rejection.
Gabriel narrowed his eyes in innocence as he inched further away from Henry. “And what does we mean…?” Gabriel muttered.
Henry rolled his eyes as he messaged his bruised arms. “I mean you need to join me and the other…” He posed a second at Gabriel’s reaction before continuing “Mafia members to bring back our boss.” Henry tried to not laugh at Gabriel’s eyes, looking as if they might pop out of their sockets any second.
“What!? Is there no other—You can do it yourself, I-I mean-”
“I guess we can but are you willing to just stay at home sipping tea while your husband is off somewhere getting skinned alive-” Henry tried to disguise his voice as nonchalant.
“Oh well well! I am joining. Come on, let me help you.” Gabriel agreed with his only reason being Sebastian’s safety.
Henry hummed and accepted Gabriel’s hand.
This is going to be so much fun, Henry thought.
—
Gabriel couldn’t sleep well. He tossed and turned, tugging on Sebastian's blanket after he had poured half his cologne on it.
Many will question how Gabriel was able to even go back home, knowing that his husband’s corpse was probably lying somewhere. But he had tried, He begged and almost teared up in front of the gang members. But they couldn’t do anything except wait till tomorrow as they prepared for an attack on one of Antonio’s warehouses, Where Sebastian's phone was tracked.
Gabriel was about to kneel down and thank God that this mission turned out to be simple and not all that complicated. Although this raised Gabriel’s fear that even if he gets Sebastian back , something worst might happen later. In conclusion, Gabriel knew Sebastian was going to die on him.
Gabriel’s sobs weren’t all that distinct, his body shook with the effort to contain his tears. Sebastian was out there hurt and he was feeling stupid and useless. He should have never done this to Sebastian. He isn’t strong enough to live this life and be with Sebastian.
Another person would suit Sebastian and would have probably kept him safe. Gabriel for a mere second truly believed that he should divorce Sebastian and find him a better man to protect him. But his little heart screamed against all odds. His heart clenched at the thought of another man taking his place on the left side of the bed.
All he could do for now was cry his heart out and doze off to sleep with a headache.
—
Henry eyed Gabriel across the table, where the gang members were gathered to plan out how to barge into the warehouse without losing any of them.
The room looked so stereotypical Henry almost facepalmed because if Gabriel had to see this at least it should be more realistic but who cares. Henry is starting to believe that he is stuck in a real life drama.
The table was long and made out of shabby old wood. A dangling lamp flickered above them with cobwebs stretched on each corner. The chairs creaked at every motion and it almost made Henry poke his ears.
Gabriel was again playing with his hands, almost ripping the skin surrounding his nails from how much he was picking on them. His leg bounced from overthinking. Henry felt bad for him in the worst way possible. He couldn’t get rid of the image of young Gabriel in his late Mother’s funeral. A young , young boy, lost and mistreated by everyone.
Henry hated himself for what he did. Although! It's not his fault. He was present at the funeral because he had to keep tabs on the whole thing. He forgave himself a little knowing he didn’t participate in his Mother’s actual assassin.
“So that’s what we will do. Kevin and Igor attack from the back, throw in a gas bomb and get out to help at the front. Isiah and I will attack at the front while Henry and Gabriel will head through the chaos to room 23 in the left wing. Sources state Sebastian is held there…” explained Johnny, their head chief.
Gabriel took a deep breath and rolled his neck in frustration.
“Any questions!” Johnny shouted but he lowered his voice as he rounded the table towards Gabriel “You okay lad? Just take a deep breath, we will take care of everything. All you need to do is to get your husband out, got it?." This made Gabriel laugh as he shook his head yes.
“Yeah, I got it. Just need to manage my head a little bit.” Gabriel said, moving his hand absentmindedly.
“Good, Good. Love the spirit.” Johnny said as he walked back into his seat to finish discussing the details with Isiah, Kevin, and Igor.
Henry–-setting beside Gabriel—patted him on the shoulder and whispered to him.
“Don’t worry… keep things on me, just make sure you stay alive enough to reach Sebastian.” Gabriel pursed his lips and nodded.
—
Henry was helping Gabriel put on his holster and he was so close to just canceling the whole mission.
Gabriel has been complaining and worrying about the whole thing. “ And what if it doesn't work. And we get shot. Oh what if I trip or worst kill a guy!-”
“Then he’s a BAD guy! Gabriel for god's sake! Shut up and just try to calm down.”
“Don't talk to me like that, Sebastian will end you.” Gabriel clapped back. He was nervous but he wouldn’t allow Henry to act perky.
Henry laughed and just walked off “Get in the car or we will leave without you.”
“Dumbass!” Gabriel hissed as he ran after Henry. The only one he trusts, respectfully.
When they arrived on the side to the warehouse everything went so fast Gabriel barely had a chance to comprehend what was going on.
People were rushing around, Gun sounds ringing in his ear that he was running around covering his ears.
“GRAB YOUR GUN! GABRIEL, DON'T WASTE TIME! SEB IS IN THERE!?” Henry shouted from behind Gabriel as he pushed him forward.
They were running while sticking against the wall to sneak into the building. Gabriel hesitantly reached for his gun and when Henry’s words got into his head he suddenly felt this urge to shoot everyone if it meant he would get Sebastian out.
He pulled the trigger and aimed it anywhere possible and just shot, feeling his hand vibrate from the force. He had practice with Henry but it almost ended with Gabriel shooting himself so they had to cut it short.
He took a deep breath, held the gun how Henry taught him and ran through the people fighting, reaching the main door. He couldn't care less if he got shot. What he needs to save now is Sebastian, his prince.
“HENRY! COME HERE!” Gabriel called for Henry as he quickly urged him in through the main door.
They locked the door and took a deep breath, they had to be careful. Someone might pop out of nowhere.
Taking a deep breath and looking into eachothers eyes Gabriel signaled with his head towards the hallway.
“Let's go, quick.” Gabriel instructed.
Henry nodded and ran in front of Gabriel to protect him just in case. The sound of feet shuffling echoed through the hallway and as they reached the end of the hallway they quickly headed left and noticed doors, many doors.
All they had to do now was look for room 23. They started speeding up their jogging.
Gabriel felt adrenaline curse through every vein and nerve in his body. His heart throbbed on the side of his head, he couldn’t feel anything around him and his vision was obstructed. All he wanted to see right now is Sebastian. He needs him now. The feeling that Sebastian is just behind a door and so close yet so far made Gabriel feel as if he might as well just break every door he sees just in case.
“Gabriel! Here! Look, it's this room. Hand over the tools so I can open the door.” exclaimed Henry as he tried opening the door.
Gabriel handed over the tools to him in a hussle as he stared at the door from top to bottom. He then turned to monitor the hallway to make sure no one disturbed them.
After almost 5 long minutes Gabriel heard a loud CLICK and he swerved so fast, he might have twisted his neck.
“Yes! Thanks Henry !” Gabriel exclaimed like a little kid. He quickly pushed Henry aside and burst through the door like a cartoon anti-hero.
Henry looked at him in amusement and shook his head. This boy was so in love, Henry was getting infected with all these lovesick vibes he was getting.
He put aside the tools and entered after Gabriel. And right there in the middle of this dusty musty room.
Sebastian.
He was tied onto a thin pull, he was at the bottom of it with his legs stretched out in front of him and his head lolled from side to side. His breaths were shallow and weak. And obviously the only sound coming from this room was Gabriel's worried calls.
“Seb! Seb! Wake up. Oh God God not him. Wake up you idiot!” Gabriel muttered as he untied Sebastian.
Henry decides to watch from the side until he gets further instructions from Gabriel. Hoping that giving Gabriel a little time to check up on his boss will calm down the boys' wrecked nerves.
On the other hand Sebastian started coming into consciousness, He let out a long whine feeling as if his back was folded in half. But one thing he did feel different is that he could move his hands now. He can shift now.
He opened his eyes and started throwing his hands in panic, but he was met with Gabriel’s soft brown eyes, and he went still. Not moving an inch. He felt calm.
And the first thing that came out from his dry mouth was “Gab’e…” in a slurred voice. His shaky hands reach to hold Gabriels face as a way of reassurance.
“Seb…are you with me baby?” replied Gabriel as he gathered a weak Sebastian in his arms, pulling Sebastian’s head against his chest. His hands rubbing down on Sebastian's limb body.
“You are okay now, you are safe Seb. I'm here, your husband. Do you hear me?” Whispered Gabriel, his voice laced with sickening worry.
Sebastian just hummed before blacking out again. Finally feeling at ease, knowing Gabriel is here with him and he trusts him enough to know that he will wake up in their bed.
Gabriel just groaned and signaled for Henry to come help him get Sebastian out of the warehouse. He was happy that he got Sebastian but watching him pass out on him didn’t make his worries go away, it made them worse. What if Sebastian is so sick something serious happens to him.
Henry eyed Sebastian with sad eyes, His boss never had it easy and this is just making things worse. He sighed and continued helping Gabriel.
—-
If you ask Gabriel what happened that day he would probably ask you the same thing. Everything that had happened when he was saving Sebastian, ran out of his memory the second he washed up Sebastian and held him to sleep.
He noticed he got a small gash on his calf but it wasn’t that bad or he just didn’t have enough time to worry about it because his sole focus was Sebastian and Sebastian only.
Would he experience this again? Yeah, Hell yeah he would! If it means Sebastian is safe.
Now Gabriel is just laying there, completely still waiting for any movement from Sebastian. He had broken into a fever at 2 a.m, while Gabriel struggled like a new parent to bring it down and now that it's 4 a.m and Sebastian is calm again, he can rest.
But he truly isn’t. Worry is eating him alive if he hadn’t mentioned that five times already. What is causing his distress? He doesn't really know. Can he say everything? The fact he held a gun and shot it at random, the fact Sebastian is not waking up. Everything is causing his stress and the only way for him to relax is to have Sebastian make fun of his new recipe as they live in a small house in the middle of nowhere.
Gabriel hummed the tone his late Mother used to sing to him when he had nightmares, in hopes it might calm Sebastian from wherever he is. His hand softly threaded Sebastian’s short locks as his lips littered Sebastian’s face with gentle, wet kisses. As his tears fell, Gabriel couldn’t understand how his energetic prince got reduced to a sleeping beauty. He looked so calm and quiet. The curl of his eyebrows are near gone, signaling his relaxation.
“Seb..If you hear me please wake up. Please do anything. Hold me back Seb, I can’t stand you like this.” Gabriel whispered as he slowly succumbed to sleep. His hands were forgotten on Sebastian’s hair and waist. Holding him flush against his chest.
—
Sebastian woke up feeling kinda sore but way better than whatever he went through the last few days. Antonio’s men didn’t do anything—they didn’t dare—but being tied to a pole for 2 whole days wasn’t a great experience nevertheless.
He tried moving around and finally noticed Someone's arms around him. He almost panicked but then he remembered.
Gabriel.
Gabriel saved him.
With a soft smile, Sebastian opened his eyes as he turned slowly inside his lover’s arms. Gabriel looked miserable in the most obvious way ever. His dark eyebags were so prominent you could only imagine how he hadn’t slept.
Sebastian’s hand reached out to touch Gabriel’s hollow cheeks—he would have to scold Gabriel for not eating—rubbing his thumb over the tear stains.
Gabriel cried the whole night. His heart clenched at the thought. His poor baby.
“Gabe..” Sebastian uttered, his throat still dry.
Not a second later Gabriel’s eyes flung open and he was on top of Sebastian in another second, barricading Sebastian’s head between his hands as he stared down at him.
“Sebastian! Oh thank God you woke up! I love you, love you so so much Seb!” rambled Gabriel as he cuddled into Sebastian’s chest. He littered innocent kisses along Sebastian’s neck as he breathed in his scent.
Sebastian let out a soft laugh as he croaked “ Hand me water then we can talk baby. I love you more.”
Gabriel shuffled and magically pulled out a bottle of water “Kept it just in case…” Gabriel whispered. It was obvious how tired he was now that he made sure Sebastian was awake.
After gulping down half the bottle, Sebastian handed the bottle back to Gabriel who was settled beside him now—still close.
“So… The famous Gabriel worked with the mafia now?” Sebastian teased.
And if Gabriel said he felt like the richest man on earth—just the fact that Sebastian is back with his little wits—he would be telling the truth. He felt his heart open as a warm feeling ran through his whole chest.
“Don’t flatter yourself. Next time you’re on your own.” Gabriel retorted.
“We will see.”
“Oh no we will certainly Not! I almost lost you-”
“Antonio wouldn’t dare. Now let's forget this. I missed you so much” Sebastian said as he turned and lunged forward onto Gabriels Lips, their lips met, and Gabriel inhaled sharply, like the kiss had knocked the wind out of him—and he needed Sebastian to breathe again.
Sebastian’s hands went straight into Gabriel’s hair, gripping as a way to compose himself. His lips kissing and biting Gabriel’s, he isn’t surprised when a metallic taste seeps into his mouth.
“Seb…” Gabriel moaned between kisses trying to catch his breath.
“Hmm.” Hummed Sebastian as he trailed kisses down Gabriel's neck line. He straddled Gabriel’s thighs, pinning the younger man under him. Gabriel’s hand trailed from Sebastian’s thighs up onto his hips, where they claimed their place. Gripping so hard he was sure marks would show up.
“Want you…so bad. Want you now Gabe!” Sebastian whined as he rocked his body onto Gabriel’s.
“You sure? You are still recovering-”
“From nothing. Now are you going to Fuck me or God help me!” Sebastian exclaimed in frustration as he aimed to get off gabriel.
“Nuh uh.” Said Gabriel as he grabbed Sebastian’s wrists, flipping him down onto the bed sheet.
A nice low moan escaped Sebastian’s chest as he arched his back. Gabriel didn’t waste time to claim Sebastian’s lips again, swallowing all the filthy sounds that were coming out of Sebastian's mouth.
