rythmic weep.

Summary:

after the final battle, giyuu was in a state of luke warmth. on one hand, the demons were gone, no need for any more demon slayers, no need for rigid training that left the newly requited slayers wailing, hell, no need for the demon slayer corps at all.

which wasn't a problem to him, not at all; he had an estate of his own and stable savings to keep his life afloat till he turned 80; that was the problem. after unlocking the demon slayer mark, he cut his life short from however-long to just 25. being the last of the tomioka blood, he wasn't sure how he'd feel if he ended his bloodline with him, so he did the only reasonable thing, marry someone he didn't know. (read: you)

Chapter Text

the sky was a melancholy gray, very much a reflection of the dullness of his eyes. he was known for his "stoic" and "emotionless" facade, but this was too much, even for him. i mean, how are you supposed to live after having permanent emotional transformations, fighting THE upper moon 3, knowing you'll die at 25 when you're 21?

he looked up at the clouds. it might rain. he knew deep down he just might cry too if the arrangements didn't go according to plan. what arrangements? and what play, you may ask? well, he got in contact with his uncle and aunt, the one who's custody he was in after his parents' slaughter; after a long catching up which was mostly just them talking to him with him only replying in vague terms as to not frighten his already elderly relatives, they got to the daunting and fearsome conversation of kids and wives and what-not.

they probably recognized his awkward expression and his sudden shuffling and dancing gaze and offered to lay off the topic, which he then refused, talking about the demon slayer mark and how he'll probably only live till 25.

he needed a suitor, and fast. he was the last one of his blood, so he had to have a subordinate soon too.

so many responsibilities, even after retiring, the irony was almost funny. almost.
