Chapter Text
Danger always lay in the things that were most beautiful: the deep purples and blues of a toxic berry; the twisting greens of foliage that could poison a person who got entangled within them; bloodshed as red as sunset and warmer than wine. Nature itself has always been a force to reckon with. Space was all of that and more. The mere fact that humans could think of colonizing such a ruthless place was arrogance. The great unknown was anything but forgiving.
Yet, the desire to explore its expanse was overwhelming. Humans of Earth always knew there was more out there—that life didn’t start and end on Earth. So, when the beautiful blue planet was destroyed, humans took to the stars, and with them came their sins. Planets were stripped of their natural resources; debris was thrown into the inky vacuum; space became the place of human desire. That didn’t mean that it wouldn’t fight back.
Betwixt the cosmos lie mysteries beyond human comprehension—twisting in their unresolve.
Over the course of time, the debris coagulated on various planets. Anything that hadn’t been burned up by a star or sucked into a blackhole accumulated energy, turning it into raging monsters made of trash. These monsters ravaged throughout the galaxy, taking lives of anything living and breathing.
Afterwhile, the Cleaners formed—an organization created to clean up these trash beasts. They built a reputation for themselves for doing their work quickly and efficiently. In doing so, they figured they could unlock the secrets to these mysteries. However, they’re not the only ones interested in these mysteries. Organizations created to keep order, groups forming to rebel against them, and those just trying to live their lives in peace, all co-existed in dangerous balance.
