Work Text:
This wasn't real. You were sure of it. maybe you were dreaming, or hallucinating, or something. but you couldn't believe it. You couldn't believe that Johnny was dead. a few minutes ago he was cracking jokes with you and Ghost. And a few hours before that he was cuddling together with you and Ghost in a safe house. So, it was hard to believe that he was laying there, eyes wide open with blood and brain matter splattered everywhere. You remembered him pushing you out of the way as Makarov had shot his gun. Your body froze as you watched your lover go limp
“Johnny!” you yelled out.
There was a ringing in your ears as guns were fired around you. You could hear Price and Gaz shout too but you didn't care. You immediately ran over to johhny.
“Johnny? please wake up.” your voice quivered as you held his head and placed it in your lap.
“Please, please wake up for me, babe. please?” you gently shook him, as he was simply in deep sleep. his once beautiful blue eyes were empty as they stared off into the nothingness.
“Please, love? c'mon, this isn't funny. you can wake up. You have to wake up. please, for me.” Your voice cracked at the end as tears sprung to your eyes. you turned as you heard footsteps behind. looking up, you saw Ghost. He bent down and took Johnny from your arms.
“Simon.” you whispered softly. “I'm so sorry, baby. I'm so sorry.”
you couldn't see under the mask, but you could tell that he was crying too. you laid your head on Johnny's chest and sobbed. Sobbed for your lost love, sobbed for all the promises that were now left broken, sobbed for the future all three of you planned out together. You sobbed until your chest heaved.
Price clicked on the radio. “All stations, this is Bravo in the blind. threat neutralized. bomb secure.” he turned to where you and Simon were at Johnny's body.
“One K.I.A.”
You swore you would make Makarov pay. you'd rip him apart and make him die a slow agonizing death. but right now, you'd grieve. you and Simon would grieve over a lost love.
