Chapter Text
The party was hectic to say the least. Luxiem and Noctyx had recently gotten together for a meet up since they hadn't seen each other in a while. However, the meet up had turned more into a party as the night progressed. Music had started playing at some point and someone broke out the alcohol, adding more chaos to the mess.
Uki was against a wall, quietly sipping on a glass of wine hoping not to get too intoxicated. All the noise and activities were honestly starting to give him a headache. He set his now empty wine glass down and covered his eyes. Was it just him, or were the lights extra bright? He was in his own little world before he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“You doing okay, Uki,” Ike asked just loud enough to be heard over the party. Uki uncovered his eyes, glad to see the novelist knowing that he was the calm one in Luxiem.
“Just a little headache. Even with people I know, it can get a little overstimulating,” Uki replied. Ike nodded in understanding.
“Wanna go somewhere quieter? I was planning on calling it a night anyways,” Ike offered, a gentle smile on his face.
“Yes please,” Uki gratefully accepted. Ike gently took Uki's hand and led him to the living room. Uki followed, enjoying the feeling of the other’s hand around his. He intertwined their fingers, giving a squeeze of gratitude.
When two sat down on the couch, neither of them making an effort to disconnect their hands.
“Is this better?” Ike questioned, turning to look at Uki.
“Yeah. Thanks Ike.” Uki looked to meet the novelist's gaze. There was something so caring and affectionate in those grey-ish green eyes. It made him want to get closer.
“Uki,” Ike said softly.
“Yeah,” Uki responded just as softly.
“Do you still have a headache? You're swaying,” Ike pointed out.
“Oh.” Uki came back to his senses and pulled away. “Yeah, a little.”
“Get closer, I wanna try something.” Ike motioned him over. Uki moved closer, their legs now touching. Ike gave a reassuring smile as he reached up and removed Uki's glasses, placing them on the coffee table. Then, he gently undid Uki's hair. The soft shade of purple softly rested on his shoulders.
“So Ike, is there a reason you're undressing me?” Uki jokingly asked, though curious on what the novelist was doing.
“I'm removing pressure from your head,” he replied, gently tucking some of Uki's hair behind his ear. “You look pretty with your hair down.” Uki's eyes widened a little. Did the Ike Dodgeland just call him pretty?
“Thanks.” He smiled and looked down at their still connected hands. He gave a light squeeze. Ike squeezed back.
“Careful Uki, keep looking so cute and I might fall for you.” Ike was getting bolder by the minute. Uki looked up.
“Not that I mind.” Uki leaned in teasingly.
“Oh really?” Ike got closer.
“Yeah.” Their faces were only a few centimeters away. The two just looked at each other. There are so many things you never realize about the eye until you're up close. Uki removed Ike's glasses and placed them next to his own.
“Uki,” Ike whispered.
“Yes Ike,” he asked.
“Even without my glasses you're pretty.” Before Uki responded, a pair of lips was on his. The kiss was slow and gentle yet so full of love. Uki closed his eyes, giving into the comfort. He brings his legs onto the couch and leans into Ike but not deepening the kiss. Ike wraps his arms around Uki, his hands resting on his back. The two part slightly to breathe, each with a smile.
“Who are you and what did you do with Ike?” Uki asked, laying his head on Ike's chest. Ike repositioned them to be laying down.
“I think I've spent too much time around Vox,” Ike chuckled. Uki holds onto Ike, cuddling him.
“Makes sense,” he replied. Ike brings a hand up to rest on the psychic's head before kissing his forehead. Uki looks up at Ike. Who thought blurry eye contact would be so nice? Uki leans up and kisses Ike again, both closing their eyes. They lay there, giving soft little kisses to each.
At some point, the both of them had fallen asleep. The two entangled in each other's limbs.
