Work Text:
It’s a Wednesday night and Jihan is spending the third day in a row at Jaejun’s dorm while the said boy’s roommate is out. They’re sitting on Jaejun’s bed, up against the headboard with Jihan propping himself up with an elbow on the stacked pillows and Jaejun sitting cross-legged in between his stretched out limbs, device on his lap as he works on an essay due on Friday.
Comfortable silence surrounds them, Jaejun’s typing the only sound filling the space. Jaejun would normally not try to finish everything in one sitting but he was so focused on getting it done to be able to spend more time with his boyfriend who was probably already bored out of his mind with the lack of attention he’s getting.
With 40 minutes passing by and still no signs of Jaejun peeling his eyes off his laptop, Jihan pauses scrolling through his social media and places his phone face down on the study table behind the bed to take a peek at Jaejun’s progress.
The older male was reading an article to support his argument for his film critique for an elective, fully immersed in it. From his view of Jaejun’s face, he can tell he was pouting as he usually did when he was concentrating and Jihan had to resist the urge to act on his cuteness aggression for his boyfriend so he just settled with hooking his chin on Jaejun’s shoulder.
“Will you finish your essay today? Isn’t it due in two days?” Jihan asks, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend’s torso.
“It’s better to just get it over with as soon as possible, right?” Jaejun replies, his pout replaced with a small smile from the skinship. Jihan sighs and buries his face on Jaejun’s shoulder. Here he goes, Jaejun thinks, chuckling to himself. Jihan was so predictable.
“Hyung, I’m so bored and you can continue that tomorrow,” Jihan says, voice slightly muffled by the fabric of Jaejun’s sweater.
Jaejun raises a brow and turns his head to face the younger male, “What is it? You only call me hyung when you want something,” he replies, keeping his voice steady to mask his teasing intent.
Jihan, slightly offended by the accusation, immediately lifts his head from Jaejun’s shoulder. “Hey! That’s not true! I call you hyung when I want to, not just to get something from you,” he huffs, earning a laugh from the older male.
“I know, babe, I was just kidding,” Jaejun says, planting a peck on Jihan’s cheek to appease him. A simple peck seemed to work because at least Jihan didn’t look like a wounded puppy anymore. Jaejun found it extremely endearing how Jihan was always transparent with his feelings, wearing his heart on his sleeve and being so easy to read.
“But seriously though, can’t you just finish it tomorrow? I think you’ve made a lot of progress today anyway, there’s not much else to add,” Jihan starts again, going back to hooking his chin on Jaejun’s shoulder.
“Jihan-ah, you know the faster I get this done, the quicker you could have my undivided attention, right?” Jaejun says as he gives his lover a pat on the head. Jihan doesn’t respond to that remark, instead he plants a kiss on the side of Jaejun’s neck, earning a giggle from his boyfriend.
Jaejun tries to get back to his essay but that proved to be difficult as Jihan was now on a mission to distract him as he repeatedly peppers his neck with kisses and poked his sides to tickle him. Unable to escape Jihan’s hold, Jaejun squirms with uncontrollable laughter, trying his best to get away from Jihan’s touch. “Oh my god, alright I get it now!” Jaejun says in between giggles, giving up on trying to convince Jihan otherwise.
Jihan, grinning from ear to ear, takes Jaejun’s laptop to set it aside on the study table behind them, just beside his phone, before repositioning himself on the bed by keeping a pillow flat on his lower back against the headboard and discarding the other to the side, reaching his arms out for a hug.
Jaejun turns to face him, straddling the younger’s lap and wrapping his arms around his neck. “You’re lucky I love you,” Jaejun says as he kisses his boyfriend’s forehead.
“You’re acting like you don’t like it,” Jihan replies with a playful roll of his eyes, returning the hug by Jaejun’s waist, clasping his hands behind him.
No matter how much time the two spent together (which was basically almost every single day since the new semester started), they just couldn’t seem to get enough of each other. Jihan practically almost lived in Jaejun’s dorm, it didn’t even matter if the older male’s roommate was over or not– he probably spent more nights in their dorm than his own. Occasionally, Jaejun would be the one to spend nights in Jihan’s dorm when his roommate was out.
They were lucky neither of their roommates snitched on them for breaking dorm rules– they’ve silently created a pact at this point. They didn’t even need to do anything when they were together, spending time doing their own thing in the same space was enough for them.
As Jihan watches Jaejun talk about incorporating clay into his paintings for their mixed media exhibit, the latter boy aimlessly stroking the hair behind the younger’s nape, he can’t help but be mesmerized by how beautiful Jaejun looked whenever he talked about something he’s passionate about.
Jaejun’s face was glowing with unbridled excitement, dimples on full display as a smile never leaves his face while he goes through every idea he’s come up with for the piece he plans to work on. Jihan didn’t even know anything about art but he could listen to his boyfriend talk about it for hours on end.
Noticing Jihan’s silence, Jaejun pauses and tilts his head, “Is there something on my face?” he asks as he tries to feel for the non-existent dirt.
Jihan chuckles and kisses his cheek, “No, I just love you is all. And I’d like to see your progress once you start on your piece,” he replies and kisses the other cheek.
Jaejun felt his heart jump with adoration for his lover. Knowing that there’s someone who cares about his interests and takes the time to learn about them gives him a foreign feeling he’s never experienced before and it makes Jihan a million times more attractive in his eyes. “Of course I’d show you, and I love you too,” he says, suddenly feeling shy.
That was another thing he wasn’t used to– sharing his art before it was complete. He used to hate the idea because he didn’t like taking criticism for his creations but since dating Jihan, he’s developed this longing to share everything with him. It wasn’t as much as craving his validation but it was sharing pieces of himself and allowing him into his life; there was something intimate about it.
“So, can I stay over tonight?” Jihan asks, moving his arms from behind Jaejun to hold him by the waist instead, drawing circles against the bunched up fabric of his sweater.
“Jihan-ah, you literally stayed over for the past two days, your dorm manager will start getting suspicious for real. Besides, I told you that Jeonggyu will be visiting his home on the weekend so you can stay over then,” Jaejun chuckles, brushing Jihan’s hair back.
Jihan sighs, scrunching his nose in dissatisfaction, “We should just dorm together by next year,” he says with a pout.
Jaejun cups Jihan’s face in his hands, giving him a peck on the lips, “I’d feel bad about leaving Jeonggyu but you know I won’t pass up on that opportunity,” he replies before giving his boyfriend a proper kiss this time.
Jihan smiles into the kiss, moving one hand to rest on Jaejun’s nape and giving encouraging squeezes every now and then. He loves when his boyfriend initiates kisses because he always seemed eager to be all over him when he did. Though he preferred slow, passionate kisses, allowing Jaejun to take control was also hot and there really wasn’t anything to complain about anyway.
Jaejun hums and takes that as a sign to deepen the kiss, chasing after Jihan’s lips as they move in sync. The older male’s hands roam the younger’s torso, caressing broad shoulders and pulling him impossibly closer as he takes fistfuls of Jihan’s hoodie. Jihan’s hand that was still drawing circles on Jaejun’s waist makes its way under his sweater, digging blunt nails into the small of his back and gripping his bare waist, earning a groan from his boyfriend.
“Hyung– slow down a bit,” Jihan says in between breaths, barely above a whisper, and Jaejun had to resist the urge to outright moan because god did he love it when Jihan called him hyung sounding like that.
“What? I thought this was what you wanted?” Jaejun teases, moving to kiss Jihan’s neck instead. Determined to leave a mark, he starts planting open-mouth kisses below where Jihan’s jaw ends, sucking and biting every so often all the while Jihan keeps squirming with how sensitive his neck is.
“God, you’re going to kill me,” Jihan groans, taking a hold of the older male’s ass and giving it a harsh squeeze. As Jaejun yelps at the contact, the door swings open to reveal Jeonggyu with a horrified look on his face.
“Oh my god, you hormonal teens! Seriously, how many times do I have to witness this?” Jeonggyu yells, shielding his eyes from his roommate’s current lack of modesty.
As if Jihan caught on fire, Jaejun immediately gets off his lap, grabbing the discarded pillow and hiding behind it while he pushes his body against the wall, trying to get swallowed whole.
Jihan lets out an exasperated sigh from the interruption, throwing his head back against the headboard, “Welcome back, Jeonggyu hyung,” he says, voice dripping with sarcasm.
“You could have called or messaged to let me know when you were coming back,” Jaejun adds, his voice drowned out from behind the pillow.
“Well, I did but it looks like you were busy,” dropping the dramatics, Jeonggyu shrugs and continues making his way to his side of the room.
“By the way, Hyunki gave me some leftovers from the cafe he part-times at. You two should have some if you haven’t eaten already,” Jeonggyu offers, already preparing the small table for them to gather at.
Food was always a good peace offering so Jihan shrugs his annoyance away and decides to forgive Jeonggyu for arriving at the worst possible time, taking Jaejun to sit with them and pretending none of that ever happened as they all dig in.
As Jaejun glances at the younger male, a very obvious bruise forming on the side of his neck, he decides it’s about time he looks for available dorms once Jihan leaves.
