“Why did you not tell him?”
“Would that have changed anything?”
“Maybe. Maybe not.”
“Why did you not tell him?”
“I did. And yeah you’re right. It did not change anything between us. But it did change something in me.”
“What changed?”
“I’ve stopped hoping and started to let go.”
“Maybe I am a masochist. Or maybe I’m just not ready to let go of him just yet. Cause if anything, holding on to him and our memories still makes me happy. Even though it hurts at the same time. It’s the only thing that makes me feel alive.”
“You have to move on at some point.”
“Yeah. Yeah, at some point.”
As they look at their two friends, sharing a kiss after a beautiful celebration of love, they let the tears fall masked under a smile pretending to be happy for them.
“Thanks Yoongi-hyung. You always understood me and stayed by my side every time I break down.”
“It was the only thing I could do, to hold on to you while I break down too. Our shared pain let me stay alive. So thank you too Taehyung-ah. But really, try to move on. Even if its not today, even if its someday.”
“Yeah. Yeah, someday.”
5 years later.
“Hyung, I’m home.”
“Welcome home baby.”
They shared their pain before. Now they share a love that bloomed between those break downs and heartache. There would always be a happy ending. It might not be the one you pictured before, it might not be the one you’ve always yearned for. But it’ll come, if you just let go.
