There’s a quiet desperation to Colette, even as Faith moves to take her fingerprints, matching them to the gun used on her husband, a man who has clearly taken a little too much from her in the past few days if the marks on her arm, imprints of his fingers, are anything to go by.
She speaks softly, in the end, when she comes clean. Admitting killing her husband, that her husband had killed Will, choosing to take his rage out by insisting she stay, despite hating her.
In the end, the fingerprints come back a match, Colette allowed to leave on account of having defended herself from a clearly abusive husband and living situation. She comes home quiet, shaken in ways that most wouldn’t understand, finding peace only in Faith’s kindness and Addy’s smile of happiness.
Faith, in the end, becomes her home, her person to turn to and Colette finds that she settles easier as she watches the fingerprints on her skin fade.
