Work Text:
Sabine and Tom worried about Marinette.
At first, the new school year had seemed to be going well for her. She had been coming out of her shell, connecting with her classmates and new friends.
But she’d also gotten quiet, sometimes. From exhaustion, and something her parents couldn’t identify. And when she did talk to them, she wasn’t honest. She lied about where she’d been, why she was late, who she was talking to.
But what to do about it? A teenager should have harmless secrets kept from her parents, but they didn’t want to overlook a real problem, either.
